August 13, 2009 - 10 Years of Wonderful Cruising

Thansk, still a ton of work to do.

Leaving for Columbus Ohio this morn , Conference there.

I just check my details for the reservation on the Disney website and it does list us in 5020.

Anyway, this will be our first cruise. Traveling will be DH - Dave, DD - Erin (14 at time of cruise) & DS - Adam (age 11 at time of cruise).

I was surprised I had never received emails from the other tread. I just found this tread by simple curiosity this morning. :confused3

We still have not decided date for our land stay. DD will be starting high school as soon as we get back. I am trying to decide if we should stay right up till the day before school. :goodvibes

Hi, Carolyn. Welcome. I am glad that you found this thread. I was kind of confused because there was another thread for this trip. Oh well, we are all together now.

Anyway, I apologize for the confusion about the staterooms. We actually have 5520 and 5522, Starboard side of the ship. That sure would have been interesting for Disney to try to work that out. We did not book until June, so you would have had first dibs. But glad it doesn't come down to that.

I am just back from a 4-day Disney Wonder cruise with my husband for our 1st anniversary. It was alot of fun and I am looking forward to the trip next year with my niece.

We received some pretty neat gifts from the FE exchange. Everyone's doors in our group were decorated so nice. We had an oversized FE, so the folks in cabins around us used it a marker for where there rooms were located :rotfl: .

Anyway, I am looking forward to see what this group comes up with.

Brenda,

Glad to here your across the hall and not in the same room.:rotfl:

How old are the girls traveling in your party? My DD was 12 when I booked. I was shocked when I figured out she will be 14 when we travel.:confused3 They grow up so fast.

This trip will be DD's graduation present. We were originally going to take an Alaskan Cruise with DVC points. Then they pulled it from our choices. I am excite to hear Disney has applied for a permit to go into Glacier Bay. It looks like we may be going to Alaska by the time our son graduates 8th grade.:cool1:

Happy planning:surfweb:

Hi, Carolyn. My niece will be 15 and the other little girl will be 13. So, 13, 14, and 15, that will be cool for them.

I hope that they do get an Alaska intinerary. That would be a lot easier for us West Coasters.

We are going to have alot of fun planning.

I Agree on Alaska, would be nice, I have promised to take Lynn there. I have been there a couple of times, even "Beautiful Down Town Talketna".

Lynn , bless her heart has really been slaving away working on the floor, getting the grout cleaned up, I feel bad being here in Columbus, while she is working really really hard, I know she put in 12 hours plus, she is a trooper, and strong of heart.

Got out for a nice three mile run this morning, saw the replica of the Santa Maria,

OK Ladies if your significant other male counter part is going to be on this trip he needs to get a grass skirt to become a member of the Grass Skirt Fraternity.

Ken has been busy with his bike ride, doing well and raising lots of $$$ for artritus. You go Ken.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Welcome CarolynMink - glad you found the thread!

I was scraping grout off of tile from 7am to 4:30am this morning - with one break to go to Lowes for more sponges - we waited a little too long to clean up the tile - so it involved mass quantities of water and lots of elbow grease! I still have to rince it off again then buff it out. Then I can get back to the staining project which needs to be finished by Saturday!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Cruisers! I see that I am the first up again!!! (or at least the first on the computer:lmao: )

Got some (4 hours) sleep yesterday, went shopping for some food, then down to the basement to work on floor, washing off and buffing the tile - some still needs some work, will have to get back to it today, then on to staining. Thank goodness for books on tape, they kept me intertained yesterday!

Ken - hope you are having fun on your ride!

Have a great day!

Good Morning Cruisers!

Spent the day in the basement working yesterday - partly on floor and partly staining - today is a staining day, I am way behind due to all the time I have spent on the floor!

Beautiful day here - did get out early for a short dog walk.

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Kids, hope all is well, get to come home today, Ken is having a pretty good ride,

One day closer,

Good Morning Cruisers! Looks like a great day here, and Scott should be home tonight!!!!!

Good Morning,

What a week. I am the only one in the family not to have a cold. That's probable due to the fact I've barely have been home. Mid week concert - anyone a Gordan Lightfoot fan. I went to see him and I cannot believe he is almost seventy. Evening business diner lecture. School meetings.

Brenda, sorry I have not been on sooner. My daughter is very excite there will be other teens traveling.:) Our your girls planning on the Wild Side at Castaway Cay?

This is me this moring -:surfweb: -and it's great. 30 minutes of Mom time.

Spent the day in the basement got the bar area all trimed out and the face of the bar done, fridge nad microwave installed and a couple of lights.

Bookcases today and maybe more lights.

Good morning. It sounds like Ken had a successful ride. We did the Disney Everest Challenge on Sat. afternoon. It was a 5K through the Animal Kingdom, then an obsticle course (scaling three 4-5 ft walls, climbing an 8ft rope ladder up one side/down the other, walk a 4"balance beam for 20ft, and crawing under a net 12" off the ground for another 20ft), then a scavanger hunt in the Animal Kingdom which took us to every section of the park to answer clues. The race was done in two person teams and started at 7PM with 11 waves each 5 min. apart. We were in wave 6. Before we started, several runners had already finished the 5K. It was chip timed for the entire race including run, obsticle, scavager hunt. Our time was about 80 min.. Official results have not been posted yet. It was more of a "fun" race with a post-party in Dinoland after the race. It was alot of fun. Alex

Good Morning Cruisers!

Alex and Carolyn, sounds like the race was fun.

Cool here this morning - after a week of working on the basement, I need to get back to an exercise routine - the dogs have missed their walks!

Have a great day!
