our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

thanks! we have to take him in tomorrow morning. they said as long as everything goes well we will be able to pick him up after 4:00 tomorrow, so he won't have to spend the night away from home. ray's taking off work on friday and that way he'll be here to pick him up and everything to help him get around on friday and over the weekend. hopefully by monday he'll be able to move around a bit on his own. i can pick him up but not over and over and over again.

I think Sherman deserves some special gourmet doggie biscuits this weekend, and his momma deserves some special ice cream! :goodvibes

Maybe a trip to Disney WOrld will make sherman feel much better :) Let us know how it goes, I will be thinking of him...my doggie Dixie Mae sends her love :)

The picture of Ray on main street, its like a breeze of the bakery and ice cream shop came across my nose...I love it! Belle is really pretty and so was cinderellla...no snow white? Aurora didnt look like AUrora lol.

Your clue made me think of Captain Hook lol...Hope all goes well tomorrow.

Just Caught up & loving the updates, as always. Sherman is so cute. Good luck with his surgery tomorrow!

Sending pixie dust to sherman! And eli too, since he's having his teeth cleaned and I absolutely cannot stand the dentist.

Oh I did think he had his surgery already. What is he having done tomorrow? And give him more kisses.

he's having what the vet calls "tumors" taken off tomorrow, but they're really just little warts. he has two on his face, one on his neck, one behind his ear and a really big one on his arm. the one on his arm is the only one they're concerned about. he has about 4 fatty tumors i want the vet to look at and decide if he wants to take them off. fatty tumors are under the skin and are soft and mobile. they're harmless but they have to keep an eye on them. it's just something doggies get with age. the picture i posted is where he had fatty tumors taken off his chest in 2005.

My brothers dog (even though mom and dad still have him) is named chief also and he is also a black lab. Are you an Cleveland Indians fan like my brother?? Ha! He was even trying to suggest we name our baby after Indians related players and places.:rotfl2: We turned him down on his name suggestions though!

you're never gonna believe this but i have a neighbor with a black lab named chief! they're from kansas and they're football fans so you can guess why!

Good luck I hope Sherman's surgery goes well tomorrow! He's so cute!! My dog, Sophie, (you can see her pic in my PTR in my sig) had to have knee surgery in November and she had 10 or so staples all the way over her short little hind leg. She was miserable and couldn't walk and wouldn't go potty for 4 days, I was worried sick! I cried all evening when we got her back. Westies can have knee problems and hers was affecting her so it was needed but I still felt guilty. She's great now but it's hard seeing them stitched/stapled up and know that you can't make their pain stop :(

But, I'm really glad that he'll be able to get 2 things done at one time though ,and that he's done will with it before! I'll be praying for ya'll tomorrow! I know you have 2 dogs, right? Did you have the other one when he had his last surgery? If so, did they do well together? My cat cuddled with Sophie the whole time to keep her company it was the sweetest thing. Hopefully, your other dog will be a good resting buddy for Sherman.

poor sophie! :sad1: ray's mom has a beagle. we were in between apartments once and had to live with her for 2 months (this was before we got married) and she was out of town when lucy (the beagle) swallowed a big metal couch button and we had to take her to the vet to get it cut out. well, while she was under anethesia a disc slipped into her spinal cord and she was paralyzed from the waist, down. it was so sad. she couldn't move her back legs. we had to keep her in a diaper and she was just so pathetic. luckily after she got her stitches out of her stomach from the surgery her legs slowly started working again and she was fine within a few weeks. but for about 2 weeks it broke my heart!!!!!! it still scares me to put either one of my dogs under anethesia, but i know if i don't get their teeth cleaned it could lead to heart disease so i know it's best for them and the chances of that happening again are very slim.

yes, i have 2 dogs. they're actually both getting their teeth cleaned. anyway, we had eli when sherman had his last surgery, but he was only like 8 months old. he kept trying to play with him. we had to move the mattress into the floor (they sleep with us) so sherman could get up and down and away from eli without hurting himself. hopefully it won't be too bad this time since eli is older and doesn't play 24 hours a day!

Just caught up on your tr. I have been away on vacation for the past week and a half. I am really excited to hear about the P&PP. I hope that they are still having them next May when we go. Will be thinking of Sherman tomorrow for you.

thanks! hope you had fun on your vacation!

i won't say what ray said about aurora when he saw her. it wasn't very nice. nope, no snow white! and yes, that MAY have been captain hook! ;)

Kisses to Shermie Wermie! pixiedust: for a speedy recovery!

Sherm.....I will be thinking about you tomorrow pluto: and your mama too

Just read about Sherman...Ray's dog has some of those as well but the vet never suggested we remove them. They blend in pretty well with her regular fat rolls!! She's pretty old too. Hope everything goes well!! :goodvibes

Good luck with the shermanboy..he is too cute!
chief ( our black lab) goes to the vet today himself...gotta keep our pups a-ok!! :)

SIDENOTE: SYTYCD finale tonight...i am so excited!

Ohhh whoops. He's like Oreo, she keeps getting the fatty tumors and has had two surgeries already :sad2: He's made it through once so he'll be fine this time too! Let us know how it goes.

One of my cats had hip surgery(she fell out of a tree), and teeth cleaning and it took her longer to get over the teeth cleaning than the hip surgery, so good luck with the teeth cleaning also.

I think Sherman deserves some special gourmet doggie biscuits this weekend, and his momma deserves some special ice cream! :goodvibes

thanks for your well wishes everyone! shermie is napping next to me right now. i'm letting him relax while he can (that's all he ever does any way....lazy bum!) i'm going to clean his ears before we go to bed so he doesn't have dirty ears at the vet's office.....how embarassing! i will update you guys as soon as i hear something!

Aww that's horrible about Ray's mom's dog! I'm sure now that Eli's older, he'll be calmer when he sees Sherman's not feeling up to par! Sophie just turned 4 and she's finally "calming down" (some) she's a terrier so she'll never be too lazy! I'm glad Sherman's getting to chill with you though before he goes in! I'll be thinking of ya'll in the morning!

Aww, I will be thinking of Sherman tomorrow!!! Here are some hugs for him!

we're home from the vet!!!!! both of my boys are exhausted and they're sleeping in the living room right now. we moved the mattress into the living room floor so sherman wouldn't have to worry about jumping on and off the bed for a few days. hope we don't have company! they're both exhausted but doing fine. sherman's poor little head is shaved behind his ear and it looks really funny. :sad1: he only had to get stitches in 3 places: his arm where the bad-looking wart was, his back leg where they removed a fatty tumor that i decided last-minute i wanted taken off and one of the bigger warts under his neck. all the other tumors/warts they just lasered/burned off. so that's not too terrible. he's on pain meds and antibiotics for a few days, but he should be okay in no time. on the way home ray sat in the back seat with him while i drove and i looked at him in my rearview and he just looked completely spaced out......guess it was the pain meds.

the vet said that sherman and eli serenaded the whole office for awhile after they woke up from surgery. :lmao: remember...they're beagles so when they bark they HOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWL!!!!

i will take a picture of shermie later and show you guys how he looks. i don't want to bother him right now though because he's so tired.

thanks again to everyone for your good thoughts. we all appreciate them!!!! :grouphug:

I'm so glad to hear that everything went well with Shermie!!!

Well...I'm off to get married tomorrow:bride: 35 hours till we leave for Disney!!! Gotta go pack. I look forward to coming back to read the rest of your report and share mine with you all:banana:

ahhhhh...I"M GETTING MARRIED:love:

for those of you who have kids that love the jonas brothers, they're performing tonight on the finale of "so you think you can dance." i'm not a fan, but i thought i'd pass that along because i know how crazy kids are about them, especially the girls!

speaking of the finale, last night was awesome. i have no idea who's going to win. i'm thinking maybe katee, but i will be happy with joshua and twitch too. it's hard to decide!

here's the last dance they did last night with the top 4 dancers. it was awesome. it startes about 45 seconds into this video. i realized about 10 seconds into the actual routine that i recognized the music and that it was a string version "hallelujah" by paramore, one of my favorite bands, so that made it extra special for me!

see if you recognize the song. here's the original version:

I'm so glad the boys did well at the vet! :) I know it can be nerve wracking when they leave your sight! :goodvibes Have fun camping out on the mattress on the floor. (I would do the same thing for my furry princess!)

I am so glad that the vet visit went well! :goodvibes

Thanks for the info. about the Jonas Brothers being on SYTYCD tonight -- I have one of those pre-teen girls that is just crazy about them!

Glad everything turned out at the vet. My DD will be disappointed she missed the Jonas Bros (she is out tonight)

so I'll just have to be content watching pre-season football without her :rolleyes1 ;)

Just finished reading your posts and am caught up. It has been a pleasure reading. You can tell you both had a really good time and are Disney lovers.I am loving your pictures.

Just caught up on everything, TR, vet visit, future babies. Geez I go away for a couple of days and the whole world falls apart:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Glad to hear your puppy is o.k. Those tumor things can be scary. I was a young mom and wish that I had experienced life a little more, like you and Ray. Now I have to wait until my kids are grown to enjoy my spouse, alone. :) Can't believe you are so close to your next trip!!
