Great goals! I like the idea of having daily goals.
Sunday Free Day
1. Do whatever makes us happy
Oops! I guess I wasn't clear about the goals.....I actually have detailed touring plans for everyday that have us going from attraction to attraction to shows. The goals keep me from stressing out that we aren't doing/seeing enough in a day.
That is a great way to put it! And I am worried about running out of time....kind of crazy for a 9 day vacation.Okay, I see! Well, it's still a good way to do it, since you know what your priorities are if you find yourself running out of time.
It might not be your favorite after I post the action plan for this day.....it's a choose your own adventure kind of day! This day is my favorite.
I love the goals idea. I also found it funny that you set a limit of one goal per hour of time.
I have this thing with being efficient....even if I'm going to shop around town I have to map out a plan in my head on what order I want to do things....at least I save on gasThe goals are great! Similair to my family's "TOP 5's" !
We had (or I should say I had) the detailed touring plan too and we adjusted here and there as needed due to lines, heat, hunger, Margaret napping/snoozing in stroller, etc.
I really need to have "it" allplanned out, w/ still knowing things aren't always going to go according to plan.
And in your case A-C
Hey what is "Meet Faries in Pixie Hollow"? we totally must have missed that.
Call them goals and just right them in order of how you want to tour...that should trick 'em!I like the goals -- that would make me a lot less stressed than trying to do detailed touring plans that my family refuses to follow anyway!
Bring some index cards for the plane ride and do yourself up some!Great goals! I like the idea of having daily goals.
It actually makes me feel very calm to know that I'll have the info at my finger tips to make good decisions.I think I have a headache.
I'm glad this makes sense to you because I swear the different options and gameplans make my head swim.
That's why I love the DIS and the World. Something for everyone!
Exactly! DH and I work much better when we have choices in front of us....I can see us killing 2 hours with wishy washy 'what is there to do?" "what do you feel like doing?"I like the looks of the Choose Your Own Adventure day! I definitely think it's a good idea to have a "free" day so you don't get overwhelmed with itineraries. But I like your idea of having options, because I'm a ditherer and if I didn't have options, I'd probably end up doing nothing and regretting it later.
It really will depend on how the week has gone so far at that point. Sunday also serves as a make-up day if we get a rained out day earlier in the week. Like if it pours on Friday and we don't go to AK, we can just make it up on Sunday.I like your Sunday. I think it will be interesting to see how you guys choose to spend this day when you get back.
I tried to keep it to a minimum but with so many great things to do it's hard!Great goals - I think that's a good way to do it rather than having a step by step plan. I knew you would have a plan "E" before long!
I like your "choose your adventure" day. It leaves a lot of room for flexibility and to just see how you're feeling that day.
Did you make ADRs for some of the restaurants? Or are you just going to just try to get a seat as a walk in?
That is one decision that won't be easy....at least from home it's not. Once we get there it might be clear as day when we want to eat that night. That's how it was with my first modern trip in 2001....we made ADR's that morning at the park's guest services desk for dinner that night....oh those were the days! The Sunday "choose your own..." looks mighty smart
I like the way you plan...though it may confuse my brain, I'll be curious how it all runs for you all and try some of your planning magic for our next one.
And I vote for KONA!!! remember the steak!
I probably shoudn't call it a free day compared to yours. Maybe "Choose Or Lose Day" or "What do I feel like today Day?" or "Pick from the List Day"Wow......
That is some organizational skills!
We have a "free" day but it doesn't look anything like yours!!! Basically, I know I'm getting up early as usual, getting laundry going while I go get coffee, finishing laundry and then seeing what people want to do when they get up. The only thing "set" for that day is dinner at Hoop-dee-Doo!

The all things Liam update
Now I cant remember where most of these things were first discussed .here, the LapuLapuette thread, or assorted DISfriend PTRs and TRs, so Ill recap everything here.
Early in planning I had decided to put Liam in one of the double beds with bedrails (and me) at the resort. I know at least one Mom (it was Scrappie Do if I remember right) cautioned me against that idea. (Liam will only be 18 months old at the time of the trip and he currently sleeps in a crib). Her concerns were very valid about him falling out of bed since he moves a lot in his sleep. I just didnt like the idea of him sleeping in a pack n-play for 9 nights. So then I was reading TKs PTR where she was thinking of getting a Kids Aero Bed for her DS.
She had done all the research on them and shared it with me. Well I liked it I just didnt like the retail price of $80. But online shopping discounts are a wonderful thing. I scored the Kids Aero Bed for $48 (free shipping). DH and I set it up and we both really liked the bed, and feel that it is safe for Liam to sleep on. We'll practice with it and him at home before the vacation so he is used it to. So the plan now is to pack the Aero Bed as checked luggage (I love Southwest Airline!) and Liam will sleep on that. And the plan is to splurge and get a King room at CBR.
Another thing that was discussed somewhere was strollers. The short of it is that we will take our current travel system Graco stroller with us. I have a frame stroller for the car seat for the next baby so it isnt that big of a deal if the one we take gets damaged .plus well need to buy a double stroller anyways. I also plan to pack an umbrella stroller (if it fits in the luggage) or just buy one at Target when we get there. I like the option of having the small umbrella stroller for nights when we go out for dinner.
The last thing I have been worrying about is Liams diaper leaking in the airport and on the plane if I cant change him right away. (I've never flown with a child before and I've mentioned that DH will be taking not to puke the whole flight.) I think I have come up with a solution .Huggies Overnight diapers they would give me more time between changes (not that I want him sitting in a wet diaper for any longer then I have too). I havent tried them yet but they seem to get good reviews. That might be a good plan for at night too if hes drinking a lot more than he usually does at night before bed.
81 days to go!
I like the fact that we should get years of use for the Aerobed. I have to remember to get those velcro cable ties that you suggested for the stroller!I'm glad you have solved your Liam problems! When we went in October, we brought two electric air mattresses for the kids - they were great! We had enough space most of the nights, but one night we had a full house so we knew we would at least need them that night. However, Zachary was so excited to have a sleeping bag that he slept on the floor in the master every night. Alex slept there a couple nights and chose the 2nd bedroom the other nights. I had one suitcase for the two mattresses and two sleeping bags. Like you said... Southwest is great! I think the aerobed is a great solution & you'll be happy with it!
I should clarify....we are in the planning stages for another child.....we hope to add to the family in 2009....hence why I don't get to plan a Disney trip for 2009.I like the kids aerobed. It does sound safer than Liam flying off of the bed in the middle of the night. Bedrails never seemed sturdy to me.
Am I completely lost? Are you pregnant? Or just planning for another kid?
As you can tell, I've been way to busy with beauty treatments and canasta
