our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

punkin....I've been lurking for some time reading everyone'e TR and loving every word.
It makes the wait till our trip in Dec. worth it.

sorry it's taken me so long to get back to replying to you guys! we left today and our errands took longer than we thought. then when we finally got home tonight our internet was down until just a few minutes ago. :headache: i was trying to get on the disboards with ray's new iphone, but it wasn't working very well. and typing on that thing is very tedious.

speaking of ray's iphone, he make my ring tone the end of the wishes soundtrack, right where they start saying, "like a bolt out of the blue". how sweet is that??? :lovestruc

update on brooke and jon........i haven't talked to her since this morning because i don't want to bug them to death, but if i had to guess i'd say they were probably finding a spot for the 11:00 spectro show and getting ready their late night of EMH at MK. :thumbsup2

Ray wants to go to Epcot again?? :scared1:

Love your Wishes pictures... :cloud9: Wishes :cloud9:

i know......how surprising, huh? thanks about the pictures!

i'm a little late here, but i'm new on the block and i just started to read trip reports!! i've read 3/4 of yours tonight .
(slow night at work :rolleyes1 ) i'm just lovin it! i have 3 kids , so i love to hear how it works when it's an adult only trip. i see my future..................just a trip with me and dh!! one day.
i can't wait to read the rest!!! you guys make such a cute couple!!:lovestruc

thanks for joining in and welcome!!!! and thanks for your sweet comments! :goodvibes

Love the update Dawn! I think my comments to the annoying family would have went something like.........."wow! It sure is hard to get pictures of the fireworks when there is an obnoxious light saber in my face!" I have a feeling you would have used the same sarcasm!! :lmao:

Ray and I were just talking the other day that we will have to ride the carousel this time as well!!!

Great update...I am super jealous of your sister...my countdown ticker can't move fast enough. :goodvibes

yeah.....i was glad ray was there to calm me down. i don't think it would've done any good saying anything to them. i got the impression they didn't give a crap and it would've turned into a scene for sure. the carousel was fun......and you have a little one to take on it now! you'll be there before you know it. ;)

Hi Dawn,
Just loved this update as I do all of your updates. :thumbsup2 You guys had so much fun at MK, you got so much in that evening after dinner. That is so cool about Cinderellas horse, I have never heard of that but will definitely look for it next time - Lauren will think that is so cool! Loved your WISHES pictures and videos! That family has some nerve, I hate it when people do that kind of rude stuff to ruin the magic. :headache: The picture of the tangled cords is halarious! Ray just continues to surprise doesn't he? It took us a bit to get hooked on Epcot and the World Showcase too, but once we both fell for it we fell hard, looks like he has too. Can't wait for morepopcorn::
Lesley

thanks, lesley! lauren would love to ride cinderella's horse - you guys have to do that next time! that family was a class act......believe me. i don't get it. but i guess not everyone has manners! yeah, i couldn't believe ray suggested epcot. i really wanted to see nemo, but i figured we'll be back in december so we can do it then!

Great fireworks pictures :thumbsup2 The kid with the light sabre would have POed me as well.

I love the teaser pic for the next installment. That type of tour is on our itinerary as well. :goodvibes

 i hear ya! glad we had a credit card because i didn't budget for a day of drinking at epcot. it adds up!

Dawn- You guys had a lot of fun in fantasyland, without kidlets. I love those rides. LOVE THEM! I really want to run into the stepfamily whilst I am there. I saw them from a far a few trips ago, but they were still fairly new regulars out, so they were swarmed!

So now with the fireworks, how DID that child get in front of you? Did you ever say anything to him? I am the type of mom who doesn't stay quiet, especially if it effects me or mine. I would have said, "Sweetheart, I need you to keep that toy to your self, so I can take photos with out your items in them." If that didn't work, I would tell the parents, remove the child with the toy or I WILL take photos of your family and plaster them on the internet. ;) well at least I would of "thought" that last one. :rotfl:

i love the rides in fantasyland, too! it's my second-favorite land after tomorrowland. although sometimes it's vice versa.....i change my mind a lot! no, i never said anything directly to him because i figure it's not his fault, but his parents. but i wish i would've now. the comments that i made to ray were really loud but people like that just don't care so they weren't about to actually teach their child good manners and considerate behavior. ANOTHER REASON why i think people should take an intelligence test before they procreate, but no one listens to me! now if i had little ones whose views were obstructed i definitely would've said something....no doubt! i know that once i am a mommy i will be a very protective one!

You crack me up with your comments on the family in front of you. That response is something that I would say, except I would probably say it a little louder and let them know that they were in my way. That is one of my pet peeves while at Disney. We usually find a place for the parade 1 1/2-2 hours before parade time, so I get a little ticked when people wait until the last minute to find a place and then they try and cram under the rope and smash me or try and take up room I'm saving for my family. Anyway, loved the update! Happy to hear that Brooke and her BF are having a good time this go around.

i know......such a pain! people have a lot of nerve. what surprises me is the amount of people who do things like this. kind of deadens my hope for humanity.

I loved the end of the last video where we can hear you say "Just let them go!" :lmao: You crack me up! I would have been the same way. As much as Disney's the Happiest Place on Earth it's SO easy to get annoyed by inconsiderate and plain ol' stupid people in the parks. UGH! :rotfl: At least you got some awesome pictures out of the deal because your pictures of the fireworks after you moved the camera came out great!

i really hope they heard me and that they felt bad that their son did something to tick me off. but then again, they probably didn't give a crap. thanks about the pictures!

Punkin413, i'm new to the boards and i've been lurking on disboards for a while now and I came across your Trip Reports and I just wanted to say that they are so entertaining and awesome. I love your latest updates!:) :upsidedow

thanks so much! glad to have you here!!!

So TOTALLY jealous!

i know! :rotfl:

Great update! I would have been furious at the kid and his lightsaber, too. I always try to go out of my way to make sure my kids aren't bothering other people -- I don't know why others can't do the same thing! :headache: Your pictures still turned out fantastic, though!

You and Ray look like you had a fabulous time in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland!

That's too funny about Ray's suggestion about Epcot -- I found out that alcohol was the key to Charles's happiness at Epcot, too, on our past trip!

THANK YOU for paying attention to your children and teaching them how to be considerate of those around them. i wasn't necessarily mad at the kid, but his parents. THEY should know better. :confused3 oh, and ray was definitely requiring that alcohol be involved in his epcot day. his not a big lush or anything but i think he wanted to give it a chance and figured that would be more fun!

Look they're turning into Disney fanatics just like us. Glad she and Jon are having fun. Love your latest installment. Great pictures of the fireworks. Yucky for those parents.

i know! well, my sister has always been into disney, just not quite as gung-ho about it as me. i wish i could find the pics we took on our first trip. i was 7 and she was like 8 months old. my favorite picture is of her laying in goofy's lap, looking up at his ginormous snout in wonder. it's so cute! she sat there for the longest time, just staring at goofy. she would've been perfectly content just hanging out with him all day! they ate at LTT just so she'd be sure to get a picture with goofy!

thanks about the pics! :)

update on brooke and jon (again)..........just received a text from brooke that it's rained all day and night and they cancelled wishes and spectro. SUCH A BUMMER!!!! i feel so bad for them. :sad2: i told her to add another day to their tickets and go back to MK on thursday before they leave to go to the beach. i don't know if they will or not....that was just my suggestion. the weather for the rest of the week in orlando is rain, rain and more rain.

loved the last installation. (btw, sorry if there are typos in this installation bc my puppy dog is layin on my lap asleep while im sitting at the computer and im having to hold her with my left arm and type with only my right) whew this is tiring. Anyways im gonna steal your shadow idea if you don't mind. Only thing is, while DH loves disney (not as much as me though!) he's not too int ears... I'll keep working on him though!

Yay LGMHs and BMHs!

cute about your puppy!!!! i love doggies. go ahead and steal the shadow idea....i don't mind! oh, and i got YMHs (yellow mickey heads) instead of lime green because i'm doing a yellow, white and black one in a vanderbilt theme for our september girls trip!

WOW those pictures of wishes are amazing, what camera do you use??? Im the same way, I get annoyed with stupid people at disney too...Especially when its parents who are disregarding their children lol. I cant believe they told her no camera on the phone...what a shame because when scott and i went they offered to take pics of us with my camera.... :( I love drinking around the showcase... I should make a shirt that says "I love drinking around the World Showcase!" haha

i have a sony cyber-shot......totally not anything fancy! i put it on the ISO setting and use a tripod to keep it steady. it's really hard to get decent fireworks shots without a tripod because your hand won't be steady. yeah, she was disappointed about the camera. i just hope they're having fun with all the rain - i hope it doesn't ruin their trip! i think if you made shirts that said that they would sell! i've heard that EPCOT stands for Every Person Comes Out Tanked! :thumbsup2

I love the shadow photo, who needs a silouette done :rotfl:

What a horrid boy, glad Ray calmed you down though and lovely Wishes photos :goodvibes

i love that photo, too! i'm sure it will end up as my wallpaper on my computer sooner or later. thanks about the wishes pictures!

great update and pics.

Disney World is for kids? :confused3 I don't think so, I think it is for all.

The lightsabre would have bothered me. that is just rude.

i agree that it's for all. i will however let a little kid in front of me for a parade or something so they can see better. it's when they DON'T ASK and just butt in front of you or hold a ginormous light saber in front of your camera that gets to me! :sad2:

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: Had a whole buncha multi-quotes but my computer is not cooperating. Grrrrr...

Yeah for the idea of a mini meet in Connecticut! Keep it in mind when you head up this way! :)

As several others have said, that little girl's expression looking at the wicked stepsister is priceless. She's looking at her like "lady, what is your problem?" Luckily it looks like she recovered in time for the group photo when she's grinning.

Your carousel pictures are too cute. I love that you both wear your ears. The shadow picture was very creative and came out great!

Would you believe I've never seen Mickey's Philharmagic?? Planning to rectify that in October.

The Speedway... again you two are too cute. I loved this as a kid but haven't been in >20 years probably. Maybe I'll put that on the list for October too. :confused3 I've heard they are trying out hybrid cars for the ride but they aren't working so well. With the price of gas and environmental concerns seems like a good idea to me.

I'm always looking for a good spot for Wishes - yours sounds good minus the "get-a-room/light-saber-wielding" family. What is with people?? My goodness if the world were just as perfect as us... But seriously that would have REALLY annoyed me-- you and Ray handled it well! And your pictures came out great!! Even the one w/ the light saber. ;)

Glad your sis is having a good time. I like living vicariously through the "live" what is she doing now reports :)

And have to agree with Charleston Princess that alcohol is often the key to happiness ;)

you MUST see philharmagic when you go back! it's really good and there's never much of a wait! yeah, that's a good spot. i like it because you can sit on the curb or lean on the fence while waiting. i hope brooke and jon are still having a good time with the rain and that it lets up soon! i just checked the weather and it doesn't look good. :sad2:

Great updates!! I love your updates about your sister--when my brother and family were at Disney last month, I did the same thing throughout the day. It is fun thinking about others enjoying the magic!!!:cool1:

i know! i just hope the rain doesn't get them down!

Great update!!! The pictures are just awesome as always!!!
I would have took that light saber and threw it as far as I could!:lmao:

good idea! i wish i could've done that. however, i had a feeling those parents would've decided violence was the answer to any confrontation and therefore that wouldn't have been pretty!

Great update dawn!!! I love your castle shots..glad to see the obnoxious family didn't ruin your creativity or good time! :)
LOVe the preview pick of the beers from Epcot..this will be a doozy coming up i suspect ;) :rotfl:

 you shall see!!! yeah, they were obnoxious but i'm glad ray was there to tell me to just adjust, ignore them and move on.

punkin, can i make a small off topic request? If you get a second, would you or anyone else for that matter mind reviewing my upcoming adr ideas? You seem to have good-food taste and great planning and I'd appreciate it if you could give me some pointers. Plus it looks like you may have been to most of the ones I haven't! Thanks in advance!

Also, any updates on your sis' trip??

see above about the updates.

and sure, i will look at your thread and respond.....no problem!

punkin....I've been lurking for some time reading everyone'e TR and loving every word.
It makes the wait till our trip in Dec. worth it.

thanks for coming over! glad to have you. you will get all sorts of info for your trip by reading TRs! :thumbsup2

Yes, the parents should know better!

The drinks in World Showcase definitely make it more fun!

hahahah, Every Person Comes out Tanked! I love it...that would be on the back of the shirt hahaha. I have a sony cybershot too, a pink one...im gonna have to try the ISO setting next :)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That post was actually from me. I hate this, disboards seems to switch on me...one minute im under my name and the next im under my sisters...our names are so similar i never notice it before hand. :(

That family would have annoyed me soooo much, and my fiance probably would have had to calm me down and stear me away as well:rotfl2:

I mean, kids will be kids and you can't really expect them to know any better, but you would think that the parents would do their job and make sure that their child is not being rude or distracting to anyone else. I also absolutely can not stand people who make out in public...it's so gross. Some affection is fine (holding hands, a little peck or a snuggle) but full on making out..seriously....get a room!!!!!!

Can you tell I am angry?...lol and I wasn't even there:lmao:

Hi Dawn! Loved the update! You guys had so much fun on all of the "little" stuff! :thumbsup2 I love to leave everything behind at the gate and be a kid again and do those types of things, too!

I'm glad you got to enjoy the fireworks in spite of little Darth Vader - great pics! I realized on my trip that I really need a new camera!

Hiya Dawn! Love the last installment! DH and I both sat there and watched your Wishes videos - great job! He read what you wrote about Ray calming you down after you got cross with the light sabre family, and said, "That's so us!!" Heh.

And then he said, "Hey! She's wearing your Chip & Dale shirt!" I had to explain that actually, I copied you, not the other way around. Hehee.

Does Ray love his iphone? I think I really want one! They've only just been released in Australia (I know, we're so behind!), and of course they're all sold out everywhere. Grrr! You'll have to let me know what Ray thinks of his. :thumbsup2

Alexis, I had no idea Christina was your sister! I used to always check in on her planning and the wedding looks like it'll be great! That's so funny, I just never put two and two together :goodvibes

Sorry about the rain Dawn! I'm sure Brooke and Jon had a good time regardless. At least most of the rides and attractions at Disney are indoors so there's always something to do in the rain. Keep us updated on whether or not they extend their tickets!

our latest edition of "where in the world are brooke and jon?"

today brooke and jon are sleeping in after their late night at MK and then heading to AK for the day. they'll probably have lunch at flametree BBQ (yum) and leave the park around 6:30, go back to pop for a nap, then head out to DTD for dinner at raglan road and then hit pleasure island and for sure go to the adventurer's club tonight!

i haven't heard from her since last night when she texted me about the rain. i just checked the weather though and there's more scattered thunderstorms coming in this afternoon for them. i just hope it's not ruining the trip for them. i sent her a text last night that said, "don't let the rain ruin your good time. just put on a poncho and keep going."

if i had to guess i'd say they were probably just waking up and heading to breakfast at everything pop right now!

hahahah, Every Person Comes out Tanked! I love it...that would be on the back of the shirt hahaha. I have a sony cybershot too, a pink one...im gonna have to try the ISO setting next :)

that would be a great shirt! if you're trying to get fireworks pictures, try the ISO setting and go by best buy and get a small tripod. they're not expensive and a small one like i have will fit in your back pack! it helps so much to keep the camera completely still. i just sit mine on top of a trash can since it's not a tall one that can be sat on the ground.

That family would have annoyed me soooo much, and my fiance probably would have had to calm me down and stear me away as well:rotfl2:

i almost never get mad at the kid in a situation like that b/c they don't know any better. it's just BAD parenting. and i agree about making out. holding hands, snuggling, a little peck.......that's fine. but i don't need to experience your love for one another by watching you open-mouth kiss and neither does the rest of MK! :scared:

Hi Dawn! Loved the update! You guys had so much fun on all of the "little" stuff! :thumbsup2 I love to leave everything behind at the gate and be a kid again and do those types of things, too!

I'm glad you got to enjoy the fireworks in spite of little Darth Vader - great pics! I realized on my trip that I really need a new camera!

thanks! yeah, i'm glad ray was there to remind me to ignore him and enjoy the show. i really want a nicer camera where i can slow down the shutter speed and get AMAZING fireworks shots. i like my camera but it doesn't do the nighttime shows justice!

Hehee.

so funny about you guys watching the videos and relating! ray LOVES his iphone. however, he's only had it since friday, so i can't say how he'll feel about it in a month. we were going to dinner the other day and he was watching the GPS thing where you can see on a map where you are and was getting a kick outta that! they've been out here for awhile, but they just went to half price last friday, so that's why he got one. he got it for $299.

:lmao: You updated right as I was leaving a comment! Sounds like Brooke and Jon are having a great time. I'm so jealous that they're there right now! It's raining here too but the rain seems a whole lot more magical while down at Disney :rotfl:

Sorry about the rain Dawn! I'm sure Brooke and Jon had a good time regardless. At least most of the rides and attractions at Disney are indoors so there's always something to do in the rain. Keep us updated on whether or not they extend their tickets!

that's exactly what i told my dad! the only rides i can think of that the rain would affect are BTMRR, dumbo, magic carpets, EE, primeval whirl, maybe the safari (?) and kali river rapids. everything else is inside!

Dawn - I sure hope the rain stops for her although I do agree about the ponchos. I alot of stuff is inside which is a good thing. The last time we were there (June 2005) it rained every day around 3 for at least an hour. One day it did rain a lot more after it got dark and we had ressie's for the hibachi in Japan (forgot the name of it) and we wore our ponchos to the restuarant and back to the bus. It was kind of sad because Illuminations was starting in a drizzle but the boys didn't want to know about any fireworks that night so we went back to the resort. Aynway tell Brooke to have fun and Jon too.

speaking of ray's iphone, he make my ring tone the end of the wishes soundtrack, right where they start saying, "like a bolt out of the blue". how sweet is that??? :lovestruc
Awwww that's so cute!! I love it!

Man, that stinks. I hope they get to extend it to see those 2!

cute about your puppy!!!! i love doggies. go ahead and steal the shadow idea....i don't mind! oh, and i got YMHs (yellow mickey heads) instead of lime green because i'm doing a yellow, white and black one in a vanderbilt theme for our september girls trip!

Yeah my dog is my child for now; i mean why else would i type with one hand? :) Thanks again for giving me your dining tips!

Rain, that is a total bummer! It's so weird how the weather changes so often there. When we went in February of last year, the weather was freezing for the 5 days we were there but as soon as that last day came, it was hot. I don't get it. :confused3 That happened the year before when it was hot the 1st three days, then cold the rest. However, we went in march of this year and it was hot the whole time. That's why I always wear versatile outfits. You never know what to expect regardless of the weather forecast. :)

Would love to hear what your sister thought of Raglan Road; we ate there for the first time in June and loved it!

And I agree - have ponchos, will travel; a little rain never hurt anybody!:thumbsup2

So sweet about the Wishes ringtone; I have "We Go On" from Illuminations; I swear, I get tears in my eyes every time I hear it!:cloud9:

You got some great shots of Wishes! One of these days I'll start my TR and post my pictures...talk about pathetic! I saved a couple for a laugh! Mickey's Philarmagic is so great. It might be one of my top favorite "rides." We had to do it twice!
