our non-rushing (sorta) disney anniversary w/ PICS & VIDEO! new TR link - p. 136

Scott and I did horseback riding at Fort Wilderness....we had such a great time. i love looking at our pictures from it...Brooke is going to have such a wonderful time doing that...ugh i wannna go!

Go look at my next to the last post on the TR (talking to Nicole) and see if you can figure out who the mystery person is!

And...."What are they doing now???"

so some of you asked......

brooke called me at 6:15 and they were standing in line for ToT. she said after i talked to her last time they rode star tours and saw "one man's dream," then they used their fastpass to RnRC. they didn't get to ride last year because their DHS day was cut so short due to a flight cancellation on their arrival day. she said she screamed and giggled the whole time. :goodvibes after ToT they were gonna go back to the hotel to nap before their dinner tonight at california grill. their ADR time coincides with wishes so that will be really nice!!! then tomorrow morning they're going to fort wilderness for horseback riding and spending the whole day at MK!!! :cloud9:

i will post when i hear from her and let you guys know what she's doing. not that you "know" her or anything, but it's so cool to imagine you're there with them! i know i love to do that. anyway, when i post anything about their trip, i won't update my title but i will just post it in big colored text so it's noticeable.

on with the TR..............

when i last left you ray and i had just had some yummy food with goofy and the gang at LTT. after dinner we decided to head over to fantasyland to give it another try since it was crazy that afternoon. on the way we past lady tremaine and the wicked stepsisters. they were really funny! we saw them last year and both this year and last the line was crazy for them. so i didn't get to meet them. but just standing there, watching them is fun! the stepmother was especially good. she was very snappy with the kids and was telling them exactly where to stand in a stern tone. :snooty:

DSC04597.jpg

fantasyland was WAY better this time! it was around 6:15 when we got there so i think the park was clearing out a bit. we decided to ride cinderella's carousel. we didn't do this last year and i honestly can't remember the last time i was on it. took this while we were heading that way. i love how the castle looks different from every angle......

DSC04598.jpg

we were second in line to ride the next carousel. there was a little girl and what looked like her grandparents in front of us. when the CM came to let us in, the grandmother asked the CM something and the CM nodded and let the little girl and her grandparents in, but put the rope back up in front of us. ray and i were wondering what was going on, so we decided to find them once we got on the carousel and sit next to them to check it out. when i got over there, i got on the horse right behind her and i asked the grandmother what the deal was. she said they had asked for cinderella's horse and then she pointed to the gold ribbon on its tail. i had heard about this but i had forgotten what the special marking was that signified it was cindy's horse. so cute!

DSC04601.jpg

yes.....i'm 31 years old and i'm riding the carousel.....without children. such fun!

DSC04600.jpg

DSC04599.jpg

ray had fun, too, as you can see.

DSC04603.jpg

after the carousel, we rode snow white's scary adventures. i always take a picture of what car we get and i forgot to look this time, so i stuck my camera out in front of it after we got on and took an upside-down picture to see what car we were in. it's doc!

DSC04604.jpg

bye, dopey!!!

DSC04607.jpg

i noticed our shadows as we were walking along in fantasyland and i thought this would be a cool picture. i love it!!!!!! :thumbsup2

DSC04608.jpg

we passed by that darn sword that nobody can seem to pull from the stone and i decided to give it a go. ray tried last year with no luck. i didn't seem to have the magic touch, either.

next it was time for mickey's philharmagic. i love this show!!!!!! it's my favorite 3-D show in all of WDW. if you read my pre-TR, i posted this picture on thursday night when we got back to the hotel because i thought it was just hilarious. i love how we both look so serious in our supercool glasses! :3dglasses

DSC04611.jpg

DSC04613.jpg

after that we headed towards winnie the pooh. ray had never ridden this. we just didn't get around to doing it last year. i rode it in september and thought it was really cute!

DSC04614.jpg

bounce with me!!!!!!

DSC04616.jpg

ray liked it, especially the heffalump part!

we headed towards tomorrowland because ray had been wanting to ride the tomorrowland speedway. i have absolutely no interest in this but of course this is his trip too. :rolleyes1

the nice CM that loaded us offered to take our picture.

DSC04620.jpg

go, speedracer, go!!!!!!! (um......yeah. not quite! those things go like 10 mph tops! :lmao: )

DSC04621.jpg

thought this was a cool view of the castle in the late afternoon sun.

DSC04622.jpg

we decided to then take another ride on the TTA. flat mattica and flat beana enjoyed the nice evening ride.

DSC04623.jpg

it was around 7:30 when we got off the TTA and wishes started at 9:00. we wanted to head over to get our spot for wishes around 8:15, so we had enough time to ride the carousel of progress. ray hadn't done this since he was a kid - i did it back in september. it was a nice break. not my favorite ride but the song is cute. i like all of the scenes except for the last one. it's just way too cheesy and they really need to update the wardrobe! they look like they're in the early '90's and my impression is that that scene is supposed to be in the future.

after the carousel of progress we went over to the tomorrowland bridge to get our favorite spot for wishes. we got this same spot last year. it's at the corner of one of those little alcoves on the tomorrowland bridge. there's a trash can there that i set my little tripod on so i can get good pictures.

i took this while we were waiting. tomorrowland is so awesome at night!

DSC04625.jpg

i went off in search of a coke because we were both thirsty. when i came back our little alcove was full of people. ray had started talking to a family next to us that were really nice!

i could stand and watch the castle change colors for hours.

DSC04627.jpg

DSC04629.jpg

about 5 minutes before the show started a family showed up and got in front of us. i didn't mind though.....fireworks are in the sky! so it doesn't matter who's in front of you. they were kind of loud and obnoxious but i just tried to ignore it.

finally, the show started! again, i just LOVE this show. :cloud9:

tink flying!!! :tink:

DSC04647.jpg

see that ginormous light saber? remember the obnoxious family that i was trying to ignore? yeah. their little boy, who was standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, had a light saber and decided that it would be fun to keep shooting the light saber up into the air....RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY CAMERA. :headache: i was not happy......AT ALL. i understand disney world is for kids. i understand. but HOW OBNOXIOUS for you to let your son act this way when you can clearly see someone standing right behind him with a camera on a tripod. he was putting his light saber right in front of my camera.....it was completely obvious that it would ruin my pictures. and the parents just didn't care. they were too busy making out. :furious: i was REALLY mad and i said some not-so-disney-ish words to ray about what was happening. he calmed me down and told me to just pick up my camera and move to where he wouldn't be right in front of me and just keep taking pictures and not let it ruin my night. he's so good at calming me down.

so that's what i did. i was still fuming but i just bit my tongue, picked up the camera but kept it on the tripod to help keep my hand steady and held it in my hand while snapping pics the rest of the show. i'm glad i did too because i got some decent shots.

DSC04666.jpg

sorry for so many pics but i just love this show and how the pictures turn out with the castle in them!

here's some video for you of the show. listen for ray's voice - he is singing/talking along with the show a lot. :goodvibes this first one is some that ray took while i went to get a coke and from right before when the show started.

go, tink, go!

i love this part! the villians are such rock stars.

the finale!!!! listen for me at the end telling ray that we need to let the family in front of us go ahead so i won't say anything to them to get myself in trouble. :rolleyes1

it's kind of funny that i'm posting about wishes tonight because my sister is probably watching wishes from cali grill right this very minute! :goodvibes

after wishes was over we just kinda took our time getting back to the busses. we stopped at the candy store on the way out and looked around, but i don't think we bought anything.

once we got back to the hotel, i went to get my laptop out and to get the cord to upload the pictures from that day, and this is what i found. FUN!!!!!!

DSC04667.jpg

as i was uploading pics, ray and i started talking about what was in store for the next day. we were thinking about going to AK to see the nemo show and ride EE again, then playing mini golf before our spoodles ADR and illuminations that night (as we had originally planned.) lo and behold, the words that next came out of ray's mouth shocked me AGAIN:

how about we just go to epcot and take more time to look around world showcase while we drink the day away?

ARE YOU SERIOUS????????? YOU WANT TO GO TO EPCOT.....AGAIN?

i couldn't believe my ears!!!! we were planning on going to epcot anyway the next day, but just for illuminations only. this was crazy!!!

so, of course, i jumped at the chance to do some WS exploration/drinking/eating/shopping!!!! i called the front desk and bought an internet connection for the next 24 hours, then we got online and checked out some of the menus to make an ADR somewhere for lunch. we decided on the rose and crown because ray was craving fish and chips.

i couldn't believe we were going back to epcot again!!!! these unexpected little changes in the plans can sometimes be the best thing! :yay:

thus ends day 4 of our trip. it was a GREAT day. i love MK and i never get tired of it. it's just the most magical place for me and i hope i always love it as much as i do now! princess:

up next.......

Oh I understand the whole "guy in the baseball cap" look - kind of like it myself!;)

But, personally, I think the Red Sox hat should be retired. Again, Yankee fan talking here! Would much rather prefer to see that Tennessee hat!

um......i'll tell him but i doubt it's gonna do much good. he loves that hat!

my sister's boyfriend is a yankees fan too and they've had some heated debates, to say the least! ;)

Scott and I did horseback riding at Fort Wilderness....we had such a great time. i love looking at our pictures from it...Brooke is going to have such a wonderful time doing that...ugh i wannna go!

they told brooke she couldn't bring a camera, so i hope they take photopass pics!

Go look at my next to the last post on the TR (talking to Nicole) and see if you can figure out who the mystery person is!

And...."What are they doing now???"

i bet i know who it is and i haven't even gone to look yet!

oh.....funny you should ask. it's now 10:00 on the dot and that means that they're watching wishes from cali grill! :cloud9:

I love the expression on the little girl's face in the first picture as she is trying to figure out the step-sister.

We've got fireworks of our own going on up here right now. They just came on TV and said the strongest storm in the area is headed toward our city.

Aww Dawn - your pix still came out great - in spite of light sabre boy!

Can I just say how freaking cute you and Ray are in your mickey ears? Good for you both for keeping them on as long as you did!

And just remember ....... you may be 31 in the real world, but at WDW you're still a kid!:thumbsup2

I had never heard that about Cinderella's horse. I will have to look for it!

Glad Fantasyland cleared out a bit... so you could do stuff. I agree Mickey's Philharmagic is the best 3D! I could watch it over and over and never get enough.

Your wishes photos are great... sorry about the lightsaber.... I hate those things!

I was thinking the same thing....that is hilarious! To bad you don't know her mom and you could send it to her!

:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl:

Awwwwwww :goodvibes I'm so excited for Brooke!!

We've got some good ones too.....no TV right now  Luckily it doesn't usually kill the DSL!! :woohoo:

You got some great pics even though you were having to 'hold' your camera

I can't wait to see Wishes.....1 month 3 weeks!!!!!!

:cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :cheer2:

Wow !!! :thumbsup2 aweseome Wishes pics! I'm sorry about the lightsaber-welding-rude-get- in-your-spot family however!
Ray seems to really be enoying himself in Disney...love the carossuel pics with his ears on and everything....very cute!
And another Epcot day...what will you do ????? :rotfl:

Awesome update!
The stepsisters look like soooooo much fun! That picture with the kids is priceless, the stepmother looks so icy!

I cannot believe it about the parents MAKING OUT while their kid was a complete annoyance to those around them. I think a kiss here and there is sweet, but when it's affecting those around you, ugh. But, thankfully you still got some amazing Wishes pictures! I love them all!!

And woo-hoo for the surprise of going to Epcot! I look forward to your next update. :surfweb:

Punkie! YOU are a Trip Reporting ROCK STAR!

And of course I noticed your edgy DOC photo, missy! :rolleyes1

Love the shadow on the floor pic!

I am def taking a cue from you and going to around the same spot for Wishes because I have yet to see Tink fly!

I can not believe Ray wants to go to Epcot again! How awesome!

The CMs at Tomorrowland Speedway have almost always offered to take our picture, also. I guess that is stressed to them, since they usually have a few seconds of waiting before the cars take off, unlike a continuous ride.

Brooklynn has ridden Cinderella's horse before. Better start taking your notes and learning from the little one! ;) We've never seen anyone race for it, but we've only taken her to it twice, in case others did know about it and wanted to have the privilege. I like the story that is told in the oval pictures around the top of the carrousel. I took pictures of a few of those this time.

You have a lot of good fireworks pictures. Next time you're grumbling about someone in Disney, maybe you should turn the camera on yourself and let us in on it. I mean, we should get the full experience that you had, right? We've seen Sweet Dawn and Funny Dawn and Wacky Dawn. Maybe we're ready for Mad Dawn. Maybe.

It was nice that Beana and Mattica got to ride such a thrill ride as TTA. I want to see them flying up and down on Tower of Terror, however. :)

Church camp starts this afternoon, so I won't be able to play "Where's Brooke?" much this week. I'll check in when I can, and I do hope they have a fantastic time throughout the whole trip. As I write, it is 4:35, so they are most likely asleep in their Pop Century room. That one I can guess pretty accurately, I think.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

i'm a little late here, but i'm new on the block and i just started to read trip reports!! i've read 3/4 of yours tonight .
(slow night at work :rolleyes1 ) i'm just lovin it! i have 3 kids , so i love to hear how it works when it's an adult only trip. i see my future..................just a trip with me and dh!! one day.
i can't wait to read the rest!!! you guys make such a cute couple!!:lovestruc

Love the update Dawn! I think my comments to the annoying family would have went something like.........."wow! It sure is hard to get pictures of the fireworks when there is an obnoxious light saber in my face!" I have a feeling you would have used the same sarcasm!! :lmao:

Ray and I were just talking the other day that we will have to ride the carousel this time as well!!!

Great update...I am super jealous of your sister...my countdown ticker can't move fast enough. :goodvibes

Hi Dawn,
Just loved this update as I do all of your updates. :thumbsup2 You guys had so much fun at MK, you got so much in that evening after dinner. That is so cool about Cinderellas horse, I have never heard of that but will definitely look for it next time - Lauren will think that is so cool! Loved your WISHES pictures and videos! That family has some nerve, I hate it when people do that kind of rude stuff to ruin the magic. :headache: The picture of the tangled cords is halarious! Ray just continues to surprise doesn't he? It took us a bit to get hooked on Epcot and the World Showcase too, but once we both fell for it we fell hard, looks like he has too. Can't wait for morepopcorn::
