Team Focker Watch CHAT - New and Improved Part 4!

Not open for further replies.
I did think at one point I would have to call David in to the changing room to help, can you imagine what the staff would have thought :rotfl2:

:rotfl: Who needs marriage enhancement parties, right Jo?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're going to read Flat Stanley now and make one for each kid. My cousin is going to Paris and London soon, and we need to get them there before she leaves. I'm glad someone mentioned "Flat Rosie" to remind me! ::yes::
I'll check in in a few.
Those Paris Pics are beautiful!!!!!!!!
Just a quick bathing suit trying on story....I went a few weeks back to fashion Bug and when I took them in the dressing room they had security tags on them, holing the 2 piece ones together so you had to try them on separately!?!:confused3
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Do you know how many times I had to read that before I got it! :lmao: That's so cool, 'cause now that I get it and can totally relate, because I'm hoping I get it before I go too! Nothing worse than going to your happy place with it. I prefer to leave it at home. :teeth:
I am dreading this myself...it's been an end of the month deal these past few months and I swear I'll be so miffed if I have to deal with it in the FL heat!
So I need to get something off my chest, and I just know my Focker friends will give me an HONEST opinion.::yes::
This is a pet peeve of mine, and I want to know what you all think. What do you all think of people who say one thing, ie don't do something, and then turn around and do it themselves. The old do as I say, but not as I do.;)
Talk amongst yourselves.:smokin:
PS Please excuse all the typos. I am on Jim's work computer and it is a MAC. I HATE IT:headache:
I love subliminal messaging. I personally get miffed (my word of the day apparently) at anyone who can't just say what they wanna say. Really burns me.
Today I'm excited to be doing school all week. I know it sounds crazy, but I miss school when we don't do it. My goal is to get 3 weeks of history done in 2.5 weeks before surgery. This curriculum I use is broken down into units, so that will be the end of the first unit. We'll then be off until 8/18 for recovery and B's dance camp in August.
I just have to say how much I respect that you home school. I can't even imagine all the work that goes into it! You rock.
So I went to playgroup two days later and am telling this story, when, lo and behold, they all say I have to have one. They want it. :lmao: :rotfl:
So, I did. But it was a tight group of friends and it turned out to be really fun. The ordering and delivery are very private, so I still don't have TMI about my friends, :rolleyes1 and that was years back.
They keep getting on me to have another, but I kept not picking a day, so now one of them is doing one Friday. :rotfl2:
WOW. Who knew! You're secretly all kinds of controversial. ;)
I also bought a couple of bras and left them on me bed, well Ellie just saw them and said wow Mummy they're enormous, thanks kid :rotfl2:
LOL! KC likes to tell me how mine would fit his head like a hat (one side only of course). I tell him it's not my fault nature dealt me this large hand!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
I slept!!!!! I popped 2 200mil of Advil...but I slept! I feel so much better!

KC is covering for the night shift so he didn't have to go to work today!! He works from home 3-12, I can live with it today.

We are on the way to the bank and the grocery store before he starts work then we are gonna watch more of the 1st season of Weeds. Anyone watch it? Hilarious.

Happy Monday!!!

That's odd!

Except when you are trying to get some friends opinions on something that is personal in nature and you don't want to post that much information on a message board where anyone can read.::yes::

Oh my! I'm going to have to go back and few pages and see what all this chat is about.

hey all!! not much going on here. busy working !!

my dd (7) went on her first nonfamily sleepover sat night. she always wants to go with her brother (9). well, i;m really paranoid about letting her stay anywhere bc of the autism. i mean , she communicates well, but i'm just not sure if she would know to tell me if something happened while she was there, kwim? it makes me very nervous.

well, one of my ds(9) friends stayed over friday night. i have known his mom for 2 years. we were room mothers together 2 yrs ago. i completely trust her. i've talked about her here before, she is the one from miami, 100% cuban girl. soo much fun and a great person. well, she has 3 daughters 12, 11, and 3yrs. she came to get her ds from my house and asked my son to spend the night. then she told us that regan could stay too!! well, R was soooo excited, she went into her room , packed her bag, got her baby doll and was ready to go.

i was completely okay with it , not nervous at all like i thought i would be. i think it's just bc i trust this woman so much. my dh was a little nervous, just thinking it would be hard on our friend , since R is autistic, but she was okay with it. and , my ds (9) was so sweet. he said, it's okay dad, i'll be with her, i'll help watch her. wasn;t that the sweetest thing. he could have been mad, not wanting his little sis to tag along. i was so proud of him.

she did fine there, had a blast. she's already asking to stay again!!

just had to share. it's so cool when she can do "normal " things. it makes me feel good :goodvibes

sorry , that was long. but, just had to share. :lovestruc

Whooohoooo! My DS won't leave me if I try to ship him off! He'll have people here...but he won't go anywhere. Maybe someday...

Well, I did it. I pressed 1 this morning whilst making Dec. ADRs. You know - when it asks "Press 1 to make a reservation in the next 7 days, or if you're calling from the Orlando area." I figure I'm roughly in the "Orlando area", so it was worth a shot!

I called at 6:59am - and it was picked up on the first ring! The guy sounded half-asleep, and his computer was moving slowly, but otherwise I swear the whole thing went much faster than when I've not pressed 1. I had vitrtually no prompts re: how many trips, etc.

So, what did I get? Sorry, you'll have to wait and read about it in my TR. ;) But I'll say this: I got everything I wanted... and NONE were choices discussed here last week! :rotfl:

:hyper: Can't wait chica.

And for the record...what would be a good Christmas dinner? Anyone got an opinion?

Hmmm. OK. Four years ago, we were invited to a BBQ at the friend's house where we do all the holidays. I vaguely know her neighbor from parties, etc., and as we pulled in there were a bunch of cars at the neighbor's house, and I said to D, "Oh, L must be having a party."

We got to our friend's, and (oh, this is too confusing, I'm just naming her) Dee says, "You & I are going to L's. I forgot about this party."

OK.

I walk in, say hi to L (the only person there I know besides Dee) and come to find it's a, um... Relationship enhancement party? Fun for married folk? At any rate, turns out the consultant is L's cousin - she's doing this in front of her MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER for goodness sakes. I am mortified, really mostly because I know nearly no one in the room.

So I went to playgroup two days later and am telling this story, when, lo and behold, they all say I have to have one. They want it. :lmao: :rotfl:

I may or may not have gone to one of those parties. Boy...some people have a freaky side and you would never think they would. Not me of course...;)

D & I decided to go for a walk after dinner and got these lovely views just a block from "home":

Gorgeous CE!!!

I did think at one point I would have to call David in to the changing room to help, can you imagine what the staff would have thought :rotfl2:

Hubba hubba...:rotfl2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I watched my niece this morning and will have her again this afternoon. Other than that...I'm just a lazy bum!
Started to plan our Christmas trip.
If someone can arrange for me to win the lottery that would be great.
I am going to start making all my ADR's under my mothers name and phone number::yes::
Do it! :thumbsup2 I can't believe how much faster it went.
109 inches of snow this winter. :)
:faint: Yeah, that'll do it!
We saw Kung Fu Panda yesterday. I liked it a lot! It even had a good message, go figure.
You mean beyond the message of "Kick the pulp out of Gramma upon returning home?" :rotfl2: J/K - sort of... I totally forgot to post, but we saw it last weekend, too. It was great! But Leo and Gramma tried out some kung-fu on each other that night and Gramma wound up tripping and falling on the coffee table. :headache: Both she and the table were fine, but I had to issue her and Leo a warning about roughhousing in the house. ;)
Friday I have a home sales party to go to at my friend's. It's, an, um, grown-up party... :lmao:
Do they sell trampolines? :lmao:
We cleaned up and met down in the hotel bar for drinks. All six of us went out for dinner at a place just around the block, recommended by the concierge. It was called Restaurant Le Tour, and was VERY good. I had a chicken in a cream sauce that was fanatastic. :thumbsup2 I feel that the hotel must recommend it a lot, because there were NO patrons speaking anything but English. ;)
:rotfl2: We hit a place like that, too - it felt like being home, save for the way better food and the ability to smoke whilst sipping wine!
LOVE the hotel location! :thumbsup2
Just though I'd bring this forward so we all know what the bets are
FINAL UPDATE
V - 30 points - June 30th.
THAT isn't looking likely.
Hey all! :goodvibes
We're home.
Welcome back - can't wait to hear all about it! :yay:
4 years is a lot, is she old enough to move to a retirement community????
:idea: Jo, you may have just provided the key to my release! She definitely qualifies for 55+ communities... of which there are a few terrific ones... on the BEACH! Lower rental rates + Gulf access = Happy Gramma! :thumbsup2
I tried to find a swimsuit but none fit, I almost got stuck in one too :eek:
:rotfl2: A couple weeks ago, I tried on a dress that slipped on over my head - it didn't have a zipper anywhere. Well, I quickly saw why it was on sale - I couldn't get it off! It took the assistance of both my mother and the sales lady to remove it. :rolleyes:
You are a terrible tease and a shameless TR pimper.
Who me?! :rolleyes1 Actually, it'll be a while before I get to Dec. in it so....
I got Jiko for night1, Ohana for night 2 and Mama Melrose for day 3. :banana:
Except when you are trying to get some friends opinions on something that is personal in nature and you don't want to post that much information on a message board where anyone can read.::yes::
Okay, what the heck did I miss?! PM me... popcorn::
I bumped into a friend in town and said I nearly had to buy the top and then I'd have cut it off at home :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: I just re-read this and had a mental image of the sales person having to scan the tag from under your shirt because the top wouldn't come off. :lmao:
Sorry to laugh your your expense. :duck: I'm a in pissy mood, but you always help me out, Jo! :laughing: :hug:
OK, there seems to be some confusion as to what my Do as I say, not as I do post is about. Here is the back ground as generically as I can becasue I know a few friends that I have recommended this site to lurk if ya kwim? Anyway, background. Have a friend (sort of?) who has a DD a year younger than Jimmy (actually about 9 months younger). She has been a stay at home mom since her DD was born, whereas I had to go back to work after my maternity leave. We chat at various social functions and stuff, but we are not close friends, if you KWIM. ANyway, I had mentioned last year how Jimmy was starting PreK when he is 5 as opposed to K. He misses the cutoff by 1 day, and if I really thought he was ready could fight it, but I think maturity wise it will be better for him to be in Prek come September instead of K.
Well, you would have thought I committed capital murder the way she reacted. Blah, Blah, Blah. DD will go into PreK when she is 4 and kindergarten when she is 5, etc.. etc..etc...
Well, here comes registration for PreK (which accroding to her schedule she should be enrolling DD in for Sept) and she decided that she just wants to keep DD home with her for one more year.:eek:
When I confronted her about what she said to me, I was told that I didn't know *** I was talking about.:confused3
Frustrating ::yes:: Hence the do as I say, not as I do;)
:thumbsup2 I routinely have the same situation, though different subjects, with a friend of mine.
Hey to you too :headache: :rotfl2: I was left with red marks all over me from trying to get it off :rotfl:
Thanks Jo.....:lmao: :lmao: I have not LAUGHED in a week or more.
My imagination is still pretty good... and I got the visual :lmao:
I know that must have been a scary moment.. thinking .. O.K. I either am going to live in this thing or cut it off.. either way I have to buy it...
NOW... WORSE... is getting STUCK .. HALFWAY out of it and having to call in reinforcements... giving David Ammunition for years.
O.K. Here's one for you... I got out last years swimsuit.. and put it on. Yes it fits.. maybe better than last year. I have lost some weight.. :cool1:
Now last year this suit made me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE because it showed more cleavage than I usually allow. Well .. I lost some weight in my "B O O B S".. which also makes me happy:hyper: But I actually had to "HOIST" them puppies UP into the suit... Lets just say they have moved a little south and have too much bounce and flop... now that there is some extra skin.
I have lost a cup size.. maybe a cup and a half :lmao:
So I guess the punch line here is "My cup is Half Full" :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Gotta go and get the laundry... and start filling the suitcases.
I just think it's great that you said something, first of all. And second of all...everyone has an opinion on everything. Don't you love it when people who have not a clue as to what you are going through give you their opinion on your life. Then, when they come upon a similar situation...life bites them in the butt. They realize how clueless they were...or deny deny deny. So, right on for speaking up for yourself.
For holiday ambience, I'd say AP, with YC a close second. For food - we had Xmas dinner at CG once and it was amaaaazing. :cloud9:
Thanks V! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the clarity Janet, surely that pet peeve can apply to other situations too, right?
I mean, I have had similar issues with people who I haven't even MET IRL.
No one likes a hypocrite.
Mel ;)
As for your thing- I would be ticked too. I've dealt with this kind of stuff for years since we homeschool. I couldn't care less what people decide to do with their own kids- and don't tell me what to do with mine. YKWIM?
Ummm... I'm guessing I'll need to start a new thread before I leave today, eh?!
No! We won't need one until 6/18! Let's see when it falls, since there was betting involved. I need those points to add on to my TFW account for all the deductions for being pi$$y lately. :rotfl2:
