Sailing to the Yacht Club & Beach Club? ... 2008 FAQ

I was wondering if anyone has stayed at Beach Club concierge lately? If so, would you please share any comments and pictures from your stay? We are staying in a deluxe room in August (not on the concierge level, but has concierge floor access) and I am looking for current comments on concierge.

Thanks!

What is considered a 'deluxe room?":confused3

I don't have pictures but an observation. We went to both quiet pools this month, the BC and the YC. The one at the YC was bigger with more seats and had a hot tub right there. It was a little more secluded feeling . The bathrooms were also closer as was the laundry room. Out of the 2 we preferred the one at the YC. They are both just typical pools and a whole lot quieter than SAB!

Would anyone have any pics of the 'quiet pool' at BC to share?

I could be wrong, but club level sounds like the concierge level at Beach Club, not BC VILLAS. There is no concierge at the villas.

Thanks for your response. That's why I was confused. :confused3 I clearly reserved the BCV studio with the bounce back offer. I do have my confirmation with the correct resort, room type, and price. But it's definitely listed as club level under my reservation number on the WDW website. I guess I will call today and see what's up with that. It would be fabulous if they surprised us with an upgrade ::yes:: but something tells me they wouldn't do that with different resorts (not really different, but between the regular rooms and the villas). If anyone else has experienced your BCV reservation listed as club level also, let me know. Thanks!

Thank for the fabulous slide show. Does anyone know the pool hours at BC? It may be in another post but I couldn't find if. TIA Lisa

Typical SAB summer hours 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Typically for off season pool closes earlier around 8:00.

If I remember right, the BC quiet pool (the one closer to Epcot) had bathrooms and laundry room right there, too. AND I know it has a hot tub right next to it, because we went in it one night.:thumbsup2

Here's a pic of the Beach Club Villas quiet pool.

The Beach Club quiet pool is smaller, but ter-moo is correct, there is a laundry, restrooms & spa there.

Not the greatest pic, but here's one of it from our balcony last October:

The hot tub is to the far right, and the blue building is the laundry/bathrooms.

A deluxe room is an oversized room which has access to the concierge lounge but is not on the concierge floor. As I understand it, there are only 4 of these rooms, one atop the other (rooms 1557, 2557, 3557 and 4557), and they are located near the quiet pool. You can find a map of the resort layout here. There are some pictures of one in post #121 on this thread.

I'm curious about this myself! Please let us know!

can't believe we didn't see the hot tub! Guess we weren't looking too hard:confused3 .For some reason I thought you had to walk to the other side to get to the bathrooms. Guess I was wrong. The YC quiet pool looks more like the villa's pool.

I am staying ina club level 1BR suite in July and was wondering what this was near on the map.

This is my first stay at the BC but I have hear great things about it.

We generally stay at the GF so I know this isn't that but since Epcot is one of our favorite parks we thought we should give this a try and the price wasn't bad for us either

hi there!
i am new on here and we are planning our first stay at the bc. i was wondering if the rooms have been updated with the new tv's and the ihome?

just for clarification- are they still doing the campfire and movie on the beach at night? do you just buy a s'more pack? if so how much are they? is the beach usually packed with people- or pretty well spread out for the movie?

this will be an anniversary trip and i would love to order a cake. i have seen the cake thread-all 300 pages of it, but i didn't really find any info or pics of cakes that were delivered to the bc rooms. does anyone have any experience with this?
thanks for the help!

renee

I can help u on the bc cakes. They will only do fillings in cakes if they are the 10 in, the ones that will serve 16 ppl. the flavors avaliable are choc, yellow or marble and frosting buttercream or choc buttercream.

What part of IL are u in in, I am down south!

I'm from down south too! I'd also like some info about good standard view rooms at the YC. I have requested over the back entrance, but if someone else has had a good standard view please let me know!

i am about 45 mins outside of chicago. (hi illinoians!)

i was hoping to get a whipped cream cake with strawberry's and custard inside. do they do anything like that?
oh this cake stuff is so frustrating!
we do have plans for a breakfast at cape may. i was hoping to have the cake delivered there or to the room.
i just hate the standard frozen kind with butter cream frosting.

also i have seen some postings about all the activities for kids that are happening around the resort. is there a set schedule or does it change from day to day?
do they have a set time for characters in the lobby?

thanks again,
renee

We usually stay at the BC, but are staying at the YC in a standard view room- what requests do I make? Where are bad views...

I would request Crescent Lake side of resort. There are standard rooms on that side (as preferred to possibly having a view of front entrance or parking lot). Also, I have heard of requests for "view of Gazebo" working out well for standard view room bookings. The Gazebo is on the Cresecent Lake side of the resort, so you may not have a Crescent Lake View, but you would have a great "garden view".

Also, views of quiet pool are standard view, but could be a bit of a walk to lobby, restaurants and busses.

Hope this helps. We just received our DME packet in the mail today. We will be there very soon :cool1:

The activities do change from day to day. When you check in the CM will give you a schedule. Below is a scanned in picture from last year's recreation activities. If it does not show up very well, let me know if you would like me to PM to you. The activities and schedule probably have changed (def. the movies!), but it will give you an idea of what to expect! I also scanned Wed. - Sat., let me know if you would like me to post that as well.
