Halloween Horror Nights 2008

Didn`t want to start another thread so asking on this one. Can someone explain what happens with stay and scream please? We plan to be in the park just after lunchtime on opening HHN but i remember reading somewhere you get put into an area at some point while they get the park ready. Is this right or am i imagining i read that:confused3
Last year we just bought the tickets in the afternoon, then went back to hotel to shower and change and then turned up at opening time. Wish I`d known about stay and scream then:thumbsup2
You are correct. S & S is a holding area guests are placed in after the park closes. You get a jump on the houses by already being in the park.

Thanks for that.:thumbsup2 So how long and where are you "held" until it begins? Not sure when the park will close that day for day guests. Sorry to sound so dumb, but I`m imagining a huge big cage with all these Halloween fans crammed inside waiting to run as soon as the gate is opened :lmao:

They usually send you over right after the park closes so they can do a park sweep. Last year there were two areas: over near Jaws and the big one at the Boneyard (where the Mardi Gras concerts are held). With the construction of the new coaster, I don't know how that will affect anything. The first house usually opens around 5:45 and you would be directed to stand in line.

Tickets are now on-sale BUT the system is down!! Also Express passes for the popular nights are the same as the admission price! $69.99 + $69.99 + tax:scared1: Who pays this?
SD:thumbsup2

The Express passes are always more expensive on the weekends. After looking at the website, they are only showing two prices: $39.99 and $69.99! :faint:

If that holds true, I won't be buying many EP's this year.

i posted the dates and prices on another thread in the uo forum.

i'm waiting for ap prices before i buy this year for hhn.

care to predict when they'll start selling them?popcorn::

todd, u should be in PR field

such a shame re fire @ USH:( , wonder if it'll effect their halloween festivities

Todd, don't forget my favorite holding area, Finnegan's! It's a nice atmosphere, a good meal, a refreshing beverage, they scan your pass, and then let you out when it's time. We usually head right to the soundstage houses right around the corner from Finnegan's :thumbsup2

I'm usually at the Boneyard...last year they set up games and drink stands to help pass the time.

You shouldn't have to buy an EP if you are going more then one night. You should be able to do everything in two- three nights. Unless you are going on Friday or Saturday.

i buy the EP each year for all the nights i attend HHN except for the night i do the RIP tour.

i figure after all the money i drop on doing this trip, i might as well enjoy it all.

i do the s & s as a starting point, hit 3 houses before the general public is let in and then repeat those houses later with the ep once the lines hit a 20 minute wait.

i try to see both teams in action in all the houses.

i can't get enough of hhn.........
1 or 2 nights would never be enough for me.......:hippie:

Yes, that is how we do it to. Do the S&S, and go all FF nights. It is the only way to do it. I can't wait!!!

Mac, the only thing I don't like about reading your posts, is that I get excited, then bummed, because it's over 4 months to go!!!

But, being that I am making our October stay 14 days instead of 10, I am psyched, that I can do 5 nights with the FF pass. We'll (me, my wife Sherry, my son (who'll be 21 by then, "oh my", and his buddy) go at least one or two of the non-FF nights. I'll figure it out after the AP prices are posted. We might try HOS this year, as I want to get to Bush Gardens to ride their coasters, have to check out the days for HOS eventually. I know our buds over at CSW can help me with that. Sorry I won't meet you again, as we won't get to Orlando until the 17th :(

Macraven - I'm nwo thinking of getting a stay and scream pass plus an express pass for the first night, rather than the RIP tour. As this will give us more flexibility to do the houses in the order we want etc.

Do you think this would be a good idea?

oh snap mike......have your people contact my people so we can organize a meet in 09 then !!

csw will do like last year i believe.
HOS will be on one night that HHN won't.
that is the night the group goes down.

i was going to go last year but at the last minute, lost my ride down there.
i do plan to go sometime to HOS and go w/csw homies when i do.

i need to check the calendar and see how the dates line up for hos and hhn.
that is the easiest way to predict when the group will go.
or check the section on csw of last years group outing to hos.

tell me first what dates you are going.
then i can help you better on your plan

if you are going on opening night, the media will have cleared out of the park a few hours after hhn opens. be sure to be in the s & s section if you are going on opening night.

I am going on opening night (Friday 26th).

Macraven, thank you so much for all of your help and guidance relating to HHN.

I've been on a few chat boards in my time and have never met such a friendly & helpful bunch of people!
