Just wondering if you do this like me. LOL.

My husband had never been to Disney and my mom (a fan like me) gave us a Disney trip for my first anniversary. Well that was 15 years ago. My husband balked during the whole planning process. Once we were there. Another story. Give the man a ballon and a mickey bar he is hooked. Now he starts the planning before me sometimes. :thumbsup2

My cousin, wife and 3 kids. First trip for them last year. My cousin has not been since he was a kid. Now we are all going again this year and he asked me to go back.

My co-worker. Talked her into it 5 years ago with all my ranting/raving and she took her family. Her husband left with a timeshare. LOL.

So who have you converted?

Sounds like for every convert you kill one...... Just had to to say it :lmao:

My husband, but I birthed four children that had no chance, I brainwashed them from about 9 months by watching a planning video and teaching them who Mickey Mouse was and asking them if they wanted to go to Disney World. For real, it worked too :thumbsup2

I am on my way to converting DBF, we are planning our September trip to Disneyland Paris, so hopefully it will work! If not, well, there is always the 2010 Florida trip! :lmao:

I almost have DBF converted a couple more Blue squishies and the mouse will be victorious!!!!

Katie a.k.a. tinkbutt - Looks like we'll be vacationing at the same time!! We'll be at OKW.

Just the husband! He wasn't sure about Disney for a honeymoon, but went along with it for me. Now he loves it as much as I do! It wasn't too hard to do though.:rolleyes1

You guys can do it~! :) DBf was not a fan before our first trip together (Dec '05), but ended up liking it. On our second trip (Sept '07), he came away just loving it and raving about it. It took trips for him to love it (and still not quite as much as me) but he is extremely excited for our upcoming October trip. He is most excited for our Disney cruise though~! :)

I converted hubby.

When we got married I said, "Well when do you want to go to Disney." He replied, "Not for another 5 or 6 years. When the kids are older." :scared1:

He used to get burned out on my talks of the forced perspective of Main Street, which parks had which "weenies", which hotels were close to which park, etc. So much so that our first two trips he cancelled cause he was "burnt out on Disney" before he got there.

Then I just shut up on our last trip. If I felt the need to talk Disney I called my grandma and spilled my brain into the phone for an hour while I was driving. So we get there take a Monorail trip our first night, next morning get to the MK he wants Mickey Ears that say Daddy. He pushed those boys all over the parks for 5 days straight. I don't think I drove the stroller ever. We got home and the first thing he said was "When are we going back to Disney?"

Now when my MIL starts the "You're going back again?" talks, DH is on my side.

Let's see, there are several who are not now fanatics like me or that aren't planning to go every year, but that I did talk into trying out WDW and they returned loving it. These are people who thought I was absolutely nutso, but who after their trip at least came to appreciate why I go and almost never comment on my trips anymore.

1. Brother and SIL (thought WDW was just for kids, LOVED our big family trip in 2004 and have gone back twice since)

2. SIL's sister, didn't want to go to WDW because she thought it was too expensive. Came back saying it was worth every penny. (I helped her alot in saving on the trip)

3. Co-worker, just NOT into Disney anything, but loved it because her kids had such a fantastic time.

4. Cousin's DH, sort of an odd duck that even I didn't think would have a good time, but who now wants to go again next year.

5. Friend of my sister who prefers camping...now planning her next trip and planning to stay at FW.

I would love to have the job of introducing first guest to the park, It's truley amazing how when you into WDW you become a child again once again. I tell people often that WDW is not just for kids it's for everybody. I booked a trip with a frien that had never beenm for the time we got to MCO she could do nothing but think about school, five days later she had forgot about achool.

I'm getting the opportuntity to introduce my SIL to WDW in 20 something days. I sure hope that I haven't talked it up to much and that she  it as much as I do. I'm also taking a friend that's been before and loved ... what she saw of it.

My DH was interested in going on our first trip. We BOTH thought it would be a once in a life time trip but we were hooked even though it poured everyday. What really hooked my DH and I was the K2K Tour. When you see all that went into the 'little stuff' and how much detail was thought out, it blows your mind. I didn't like POTC ride until we went on the tour. Now it's one of my favorites.

So I haven't converted any haters. But have converted and hopefully going to convert some neutral people.

I've almost got my mom, which is great, seeing as she is the financial contributor for my vacations. I truly have no idea how I got the Disney-gene, as it certainly didn't come from her.

So far, one. Went with her family last year, complained, snapped at me when she got tired of me blathering on about Disney, but eventually I must have convinced her in one of my talks about how you "feel" there. Because of it, she's coming with us!

Now I've got three more to go. :)

DH was one already.....My 2DS are brainwashed.

We saw a commercial for the nick cruise last night and my DS5 looked at me and gave me a disgusted look, "no" in sign language then said "I don't want to do that mom!" that coming from a boy who wants EVERYTHING he sees on TV! :lmao: :lmao:

Last weekend at a class I taught my DS teacher how Walt was an inventor and he was really into it. He is a man who is a hippy not looking like a Disney fan. I had him all into it! Now he is looking at taking his family.

Ha, this worked for me, DBF (at the time) was persuaded to go to DLP, thought it was just for kids, well after a meal in Cafe Mickey he was talking about going to Florida next year, he wanted to try other hotels at DLP basically as excited as I get :rotfl:

He now rarely says no to things I wanna try, he'll even suggest things when he reads the boards and just loves planning with me:cool1:

Hey we bought DVC last October:thumbsup2

I really hope you get the same response wishspirit ;)

I hope so too! :lmao:
I showed him this thread when i went to see him this weekend, to show him how many DBF and DH have been converted. He thought it was funny to think that there were other men in the world who put up with same amount of Disney abuse as he does!

He is getting excited about our DLP trip and even had a go at me for not having a ticker up on my signature! :lmao: Thats on my to do list!

I converted DF...

DD and I convinced my parents to go to Disney with us December 2007.
It worked because they do anything DD wants and DM loves Christmas.
This was also the week of the 30th wedding anniversary.
DF was less than enthusiastic, but wouldn't admit it because he didn't want to upset his granddaughter!

We stayed Polynesian concierge and did a premium plan...

Df was a convert after our first night... Poly concierge drinks, perfect unobstructed view of the castle from his balcony, Cirque, and dinner at California Grill.

He turned to me when we got back to Poly and said " I really thought this vacation would suck... I can't believe how incredible Disney is... I think next time we need to come back for longer"

DF hates boats... guess who is going on a Disney cruise with us next April???
