In my ramblings on another thread I confessed some of my dead Disney dreams.

1. To audition for the Mickey Mouse club.
2. To kiss Damon Pampolina  .
3. To become a can-can girl for the Diamond Horseshoe Revue.

I was wondering if anyone else would comiserate with me by sharing some of their Disney Dreams that - at this point - will never happen.

Oh my goodness!! You just sent me back. I had such a crush on Damon and I wanted to be a mouseketeer so badly! Question....Did you own the album that he and some of the other mouseketeers made? I listened to mine until it broke!:lmao:

I actually did this one. The same year they found Justin, Christina, etc... I was 15 or 16 at the time, I think. They ended up adding much younger kids to the roster, so it was not meant to be. But definitely a cool experience. That was such a great show :)

I owned the first two. I never got the third one . . . I think it was a greatest hits album. And my tapes were played beyond recognition as well.

I have been so tempted to get them on e-bay, but haven't been able to bring myself to do it. I don't want my little girls to go around singing "I Know What Boys Like" with Tiffini Hale.

Maybe I will give in and buy them to keep as a secret indulgence when noone else is around :rolleyes1 . Anyone want to donate old The Party CDs to a closet fan?

I did have a videocassette of The Party when they performed on the Mickey Mouse Club. They peformed Summer Vacation. I did show my kids that since they edited the song for the show. And they watched it until the videocassette finally gave up the ghost:rotfl: .

I will confess, though, that every once in a while after the kids are in bed, I indulge in watching The Party music videos on Yahoo music or YouTube  . My husband just rolls his eyes and chuckles as he walks away. I am finally winning him over concerning Disney World. He is becoming a tiny bit Disney enthusiastic. But he will never understand my MMC love.

ExBellhop,

I envy you! But Christina Aquilera and Justin Timberlake are tough competition. I don't think I would have had a chance competing against them. Sheesh! Jessica Simpson tried out for MMC at that time, and even she was eliminated.

I think I would have had a good chance with the Damon Pampolina generation, though ;) .

What was it like? What did you have to do? How far did you make it?

Maybe I can vicariously live out my dead Disney dream through your post :woohoo: .

A friend of mine was on all 7 seasons of MMC, Lindsey Alley. We lived about 45 min away from WDW. She lives in NYC now and has her own show about post life from the MMC. It ended and she was able to attend school with us full time her junior and senior year. Our dads are buddies and we get to see each other around the holidays. There was a lot of talent besides, Christina, Britney, and Justin. Kerry Russel and Lindsey are still close alumni.
Here she is from the show,

Oh yea, my dream was to be Tinkerbell and fly down the wire until I found out it was a guy......:tink:

WHAT?!?!?!?!! OMG .. I'm on shock...

OK I am a geeky medically inclined person. I wanted to be the nurse in the first aid station at Magic Kingdom.

You are so right! There certainly were other talented kids. I was just responding to the people that ExBellhop mentioned.

Lindsey was fantastic! And Jennifer (was it Gill?) was a true talent in that batch too. In fact, it is a little shocking that she didn't become a huge celeb after her MMC days.

And can I say that it is too cool that you know Lindsey:worship: ?! In fact, I am a little star struck. Can I be your friend so that I can say that I know someone who is friends with a mouseketeer?

Oooooow! That is a cool dream. But, how weird is it that Tinkerbell is a guy! :scared1: I will probably have nightmares tonight now that I learned that factoid. :lmao:

I just graduated with a BFA in photography and would love to be the photographer at the GF private sessons person!!!!

As a kid I was into chorus and vocal training, so I wanted to be the voice for a Disney cartoon.

Tinkbutt,

If you move to Orlando, then maybe your dead dream can rise again! ;)

Yes, I have had this dream too. But I haven't put it in the "dead" pile yet. Call me a hopeless dreamer, but you never know . . . it could happen. If I ever hang out with mandymommy4 and Lindsey Alley, maybe Lindsey could hook me up pixiedust: or at least give me some tips ::yes::.

That is a very original dream. Why is it dead?

Well after 20 years of nursing and having a toddler underfoot I dont think it is very realistic at least until he is off to school. We are moving to Florida but not to Orlando, we are trying for the Melbourne area. The problem has been selling our house in this market. So I guess not totally dead, maybe I will be a 60 year old nurse at Disney. LOL. Maybe it was after I found the dead guy in the bathroom at space mountain that gave me the idea. Who knows. My husband is also in healthcare. So anything is possible we can find jobs anywhere.

I will send some pixie dust your waypixiedust: in hopes that your dream will be revived.

And, I would really like to hear the story about the dead guy in the Space Mt. bathroom. :scared1: It is not too often you come across a story like that.
