Mickey's Hand is in my Pocket II! & DH's P.O.V: pg 19-7/20 On Our Way Home....

I realized I skipped a big part of the planning on this pre-trippie....we went from trying to finalize days to January all the sudden. So now you are hopping into my time machine and going back in time....please fasten your seat belts and keep all arms and legs in the car at all times! ;)

Beginning of October 2007
The dates are finally decided (somewhat!) We will check in on 9/27 or 9/28 and leave 10/5/08. This is late enough that we can catch part of the F&WF and that in my master plan, we can buy AP’s and use them for my (GULP!) 40th :scared1: birthday trip the following year. So dates are decided and now the OC Planner in me comes out. Normally as soon as I had dates I would make a ressie. Not so with DVC…you can only make them 11 months out – that was killing me. So now the waiting game began for my “11 month window” so I could call.

October 28th – November 5th (11 months to go!!!)
We decided to check in on 9/28, so that meant my 11 month window opened today to call. Most people on the boards said at that time of year I could probably make all my ressies on my checkout day (making the whole week at once) but since we invited DIL’s I wanted to make sure we got the type/view I wanted. So I call – wow no problems at all. Ressie is made for the first night and I just need to call back everyday to keep adding a day on. Tuesday is also easy.

Wednesday – Houston we have a problem. I was told on my first call that we could not make a ressie for 9/30 on 10/31. First CM thought it was a glitch as it was 11 months from checkout. So I take the Disboards advice and call back again so I can get a different CM who knows how to fix it, doesn’t work..uh-oh – third call and no luck. Posts to the Disboards about it and no one was really sure. Called again and still nope. I finally got a Dis member who pointed out that I needed to wait until 11/1 to call as my checkout at that point would have been 10/1 not 9/31 as that does not exist. Boy- this is confusing.

Thursday rolls around and bingo – no problem, I can make the ressie now. We figured out that happens four or five times a year and that’s why the CM’s didn’t remember it. The rest of the reservations end up going very smoothly and we now have a reservation for a week at AKV next Sept/Oct. Now to try and convince DH to drive….

NOW we can get back to our regularly scheduled program...coming up the first of what will probably be many itineraries :rotfl:

Here are our trip binders in reverse chronological order:
Bindergrowth.jpg

:lmao: Love this picture!

:scared1: WHAT! :scared1:

How will you do that? :confused3

I'm thinking lots of index cards with info shrunk down really really tiny :rotfl: Otherwise I'm still at a total loss! OH and DH is telling me to clean up my desk at home...but its a bunch of Disney confirmations and with no binder they have no where to live...oh well - guess the desk has to stay a mess - unless he lets me have a binder again :rotfl2:

Sorry about the slowness all - I keep catching the flu bug/cold thing with a new strain every week...let's hope it clears up by September!

Oh and stagemomx3 - no binder yet...so I still have papers all over my desk waiting till he gives in :lmao:

I figured it was about time to post my first itinerary. Yes - we know it will probably be tinkered with, especially if I can add a couple of days to get over my sadness of not going with tiggerbell and rhondalee.

Couple of points - we won't be making any rope drops...ok, we never have. But I told DH he could sleep a little this trip, meaning we won't get to the parks until 10ish ;)

Let me know what you all think...

So True! We tried Big River a couple of trips ago and we were just not impressed with it. So I think that is still on the out list. I'm thinking we might try Boatwright's this time...Nebo said the prime rib was good there.

Well TyRy....I am subscribed and officially hooked!

I really liked how you started this and to see that your DH has joined into the story I can see this report is gonna be ALOT of fun :woohoo:

:wave2: Hi Colleen...glad you liked it (or you are being kind!) :rotfl:

I'm trying to get DH to update his again, but he's been busy...perhaps I could bribe him with pizza later this week :scratchin as his updates always crack me up.

Hi Colleen...glad you liked it (or you are being kind!)

I'm trying to get DH to update his again, but he's been busy...perhaps I could bribe him with pizza later this week as his updates always crack me up.

You should totally have a binder!

but only for planning;

when you go - take index cards with only the details you need on them (i.e., ressie #s, park schedules, ADRs and hotel and "other stuff" schedules)

I am so jealous, you two sound so much like DH and me your planning details sound awesome ~ ergo- I am TOTALLY hooked! No lie :wizard:

Have you been to the outlets yet? DS took me there just this past December - he'd leave me in the Disney Character Outlet store while he walked the entire plaza. seriously. :thumbsup2

I see LTT for your MNSSHP nite...book it EARLY! I've missed going there because I waited too long to call :(

Have you ever done F&WF? If you eat as much as we have you may not need lunch *and* dinner...I personally would go with just dinner. Maybe France has their soup out in the kiosk for F&WF, WDWIG would have the menus if you really wanted to see.

Your whole trip sounds really well planned out...I look forward to reading more - esp with your husbands responses~

I read some of it to my DH last night cause I think yours is that funny - that's huge in my world :3dglasses

Only 6 more months of planning to go...

:wizard:

OT: Hi Jaime!

Tee hee :goodvibes This is exactly what I did last time..I laminated them and everything and had one for each day. DH still made fun of me, but yet again he had a great trip due to the months of planning (a concept he still does not understand! )

Why thank you so much...and if you ever get your DH to actually plan (unlike mine who thinks it just happens and you can change all your ADR's two weeks out!:headache: ) let me know how you did it!

Yep - love the outlets. I always try and get there the first day so I can buy a bunch of stuff and then I'll know what's left to by for people at home. We usually only hit the same one...DH will have to say where it is.

There is more than one though somewhere else correct? Know where?

I'm sorry you missed it. This is one of DH's requests so I'm trying to fit it in. Of course, if the Bears have a game late that day or night, who knows what will happen! :rotfl2: My calling time is next week...fingers crossed we get everything!

I think this effects DH more than me as I will admit to being a picky eater. I tend more to try wines around the world. I wish France had the French Onion Soup as a taste...I have lots of them  but alas, have never seen it, so we have to stop in for a bowl.

OT: Hi Jaime!

Thanks so much for enjoying it! I know, it's always sad when the planning ends, BUT I've already semi-started planning by 40th birthday trip (ok all I've done is send an email to friends saying when we are going, but hey, you have to start somewhere!) So at least I'll have that to look forward to when we get back. ;)

There is more than one though somewhere else correct? Know where?

Why Yes! Yes I do!

Premium Outlets has one Character Whse-this is where it is

From I-4 Westbound:
Exit 68 (Rte. 535). Left at light onto Route 535, left at next light onto Vineland Ave. at Little Lake Bryan; proceed 1 mile.

From I-4 Eastbound:
Exit 68 (old 27). Proceed straight across light at end of ramp onto Vineland Avenue; continue 1 mile.

and Prime Outlets has the other;

FROM DISNEY WORLD & West: Take I-4 East to the 75A - UNIVERSAL exit. Follow to International Drive and turn left. The center is located at the North End of International Drive.

:woohoo:

My DH will never plan our trips, he's gotten used to the binders and index cards and to my total glee, whenever he looks for information on Orlando - he looks to me :)

Why thank you for the information. I think it's Prime outlets that we always hit as I remember getting stuck on I Int'l Drive once and it was worse than Chicago rush hour on a Friday!:scared1: But if DH ever comes back I'm sure he'll correct me if I am wrong :rotfl:

My DH will never plan our trips, he's gotten used to the binders and index cards and to my total glee, whenever he looks for information on Orlando - he looks to me :)

I think mine is still working on it, and like I said - no binder...I'll have to post a picture of my messy desk since DH won't let me have one and I have no where else to put my confirmations :rotfl2:

As expected, I've messed with the itinerary already. Since this is our first trip "home" as DVC members I'd really like to hit "Welcome Home Wednesdays" at the Boardwalk. Hey - gotta get something for handing over all that cash! ;) So that meant flipping days around. OH and tonight DH starts in again about, don't forget..I want to go here and here. Arrghhh - it is two days before ADR's and I thought I had set where and when to go. So now I'm going to go with a longer itinerary and hope he can switch a day at work to get us down there a day early.

Here's the new agenda...feel free to add any comments!
