Marriott Cypress Harbor - need help!!!

Does anyone have any feedback on this resort? We are booked for a 2 bdrm villa with timeshare presentation in April. We received 4nights/5days for $199, it was too good to pass up. I tried getting into Horizons but found this to be an impossible task. I am 36, DH35, DD6,DD4 and DS3, I really thought Horizons wouldv'e been great especially if we thought about buying (but we're not) but they only had CH open. Has anyone stayed here before? Do you think little kids would like it? Is it nice or outdated? Is the presentation very high pressure? Thanks!!

The sales pressure at Marriotts is quite low and that's because they have a high quality product to sell. IMO, Marriott timeshares are near the top of the industry.

Cypress Harbour is a very nice resort (we'll be there again on Saturday) with most of the buildings and units having completed refurbishment - there are one or two buildings that are currently undergoing updating. The resort itself presents a laid-back atmosphere with lots of mature Florida landscaping. It also has a ton of activities for all ages, including the little ones. There's a kiddie pool area at the main pool complex that's behind the reservation area. Also near this pool area are an outdoor bar, the marketplace resort store (groceries, coffee, sandwiches, sundry items, newspapers, etc.) and the pizza hut express. If you take the footbridge across the lake from that pool area you'll end up at the island pool complex with a lap pool and a general pool, also a sauna and at least one hot tub. There's a third, much smaller, pool at the end of the lake serving the buildings near the activities center. There are paddle boats, shuffleboard, mini golf, bocci, volleyball, bikes, and I think they have surrey bikes, a fitness center, table tennis, a pool table, a video game room, and probably a few other things that I'm not thinking of.

You paint a wonderful relaxing picture, We will be there for Easter week through an exchange. Do you know if they will take requests into consideration? I really wanted a unit overlooking the main lake, hopefully top floor.

I don't own a Marriott but am in the Starwood system. With any popular ts, owners are given priority. As you are exchanging in a busy week, you can ask for a preferential view/room but don't expect it.

To the OP, I have heard only wonderful things about this resort, and am seriously considering staying here in June. For those who have stayed here...which pool area is better for older kids (7,9, 11, 14, 16)? I would like to ask for a room near the pool we would use more. Thanks!

We just returned from a stay at Cypress Harbour. It is a great resort. I think any of the pool areas would be good for kids, though the main pool might be a little better. The units have been refirbished except those that they are currently working on. I don' think they are placing people in to those buildings. You can make requests and they will likely contact you shortly before your stay to see if you have any requests. As an exchanger you will be at the bottom of the priority list, but you may still get what you request as not everyone makes specific requests. I don't think there is a bad unit in this resort.

Stayed there last year on the same deal the OP got and I would KILL to go back. I lOVED it. I have stayed at Vistana Village which is great but I liked this even better. From our room we could see the fireworks from Sea World.

I don't own there, so we're not at the top of the list when we request a general location. However, we've had good success in having our requests honored at this particular Marriott. Like you, we prefer a high floor villa with a lake view and this request has been honored in the past. For our next trip I also asked for a specific building number (Building 62 at the end of the lake near the activities center), so I guess we'll find out on Saturday if we get what I asked for this time.

I think it's worth making the call to the resort to ask as my sense is that the staff at Cypress Harbour try a little harder to satisfy requests than I've experienced at other resorts.

We are leaving for Orlando tomorrow and staying at Cypress Harbour after Old Key West. I researched a ton and this one kept coming up as great. We have stayed at Marriott Grande Vista and while we liked it, we didn't "love" it so we are hoping to love CH! We needed two 2BR villas as family is joining us, so when I called they accomodated our requests of next door villas and refurbished units. We'll let you know!

It's been years since I have stayed at either resort. But I did enjoy both. Horizons is newer. Nothing negative to say about either one. You will like it.

We booked in October for April, we recieved 4 nights in a 2bdrm villa for $199. I found the deal on the Marriott website last fall. Try calling 1-800-782-5410 and tell them you learned about the offer through the internet. They may still have availability, it's worth a try. Good luck.

We checked in on Saturday and they gave us exactly what we'd asked for when I called the resort a couple of weeks ago. We're in building 62 - a non-smoking, renovated building - at the end of the lake, have a nice view of the lake and over-look the small pool area, and they even put us in an end unit, which is more than I asked for and which cuts down on any excess neighbor noise. The resort is beautiful, the staff is among the nicest, friendliest we've found at any timeshare resort, and the renovated villas are very, very nice.

Buildings 52 and 53 are on either side of the clubhouse. Either should give you a great location. 52 is probably a few steps closer to the Marketplace store, and Pizza Hut express/Galley Grill while 53 seems a little closer (just by a bit) to the pools. Of course that all depends where you'd be placed within either building. If I remember correctly, those two buildings used to be the most requested locations so they may not be able to satisfy your request, so you might mention that buildings 51 or 54 (both one-off from being adjacent to the clubhouse area).

The second bedroom becomes small when the sofabed is pulled out because of the configuration of the room. Essentially, when it's out it blocks access to the closet. However, I don't think that should be an issue for your group of five children assuming that the sofabed is folded away when it isn't being used for sleeping.

The resort is pretty well centalized to accomodate access to the three theme park areas that you mentioned - it's near SeaWorld, about 15 -20 minutes from most of the Disney parks and about 15 or so from the Universal parks. Also convenient to groceries, shopping and restaurants.
