The Wilderness Lodge FAQ (Part 6) Simbas and Tiggers and Humphreys OH MY!

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post my question on, but I'm hoping one of you will know.

Are reservations necessary for either the night wagon ride from Pioneer Hall or the Campfire program? Thanks for any answers!

No I'm not sure, :confused3 I posted I have never booked a package plus I'm never sure about anything.

My thoughts where if Scottny used a discount code he would have known this information.

I know that in Scott's case he booked Beach Club with a Bounceback Offer and then switched the ressie to the WL. So it is possible that it is a code signifying that he had booked a Bounceback package.

As another poster pointed out the three letter codes probably denote what package a person has, whether or not it is discounted doesn't matter, every package has a code. ABC, XYZ, etc each has a meaning that probably only the Disney staff know.

Hi everyone,
We have stayed at the WL a few times now and are planning another (surprise pre-honeymoon!) trip back. On the Disney website it only lists bus as available transportation; has something changed? I hear that there were plans for a direct boat to the MK, but have they taken the boats away?

The WL has boats that go to Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and Fort Wilderness. It also of course has bus service to all the parks.

Wagon Rides at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

Take an old-fashioned, horse-drawn wagon ride which offers a 45-minute scenic tour around Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Wagon Rides depart at 7:00pm and 9:30pm nightly from the front of Pioneer Hall.
Fireworks Wagon Rides at 8:30pm for the 9:00pm fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. (offers audio track for show - subject to fireworks being held at the Magic Kingdom.)
Price: $8.00 Adult; $5.00 Child (ages 3-9) Children under 3 are complimentary. Children ages 3-9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Reservations: Not accepted; Wagon Rides are on a first-come, first-served basis only.

Chip & Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long free of charge no reservations required.

They have started the direct boat service to the Magic Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge, it is now the Red Flag Boat the resort Blue Flag Boats continue to operate between the three resorts.

For complete bus routes check on page 1 post #1.

You know, we were just there at the end of January and I SWEAR (and so does DH) that the blue flag boats were the ones to the MK and the red flags were the ones to the other resorts. I know this because we stood on the dock in the freezing wind with 100 other people one morning waiting for an MK boat (blue flag) to come, watching red flag boat after red flag boat come and go.

Edited: Nevermind! I've been proven wrong (below). Thanks!

There's a sign at the end of the dock, so, regardless of color, it would be pretty hard to get on the wrong boat.

I had a different code and it was 30% off. That is why I asked because I knew it wasn't a code for that because I know the code for it and it was for a bounceback offer like Lessa said.
Oh well I was just wondering. I was expecting it to say "woods View" but it does not.

Are there refridgerators in all rooms?

are they mini ones? How much food & drinks can you fit in them? Can they fit a gallon of milk? or would it be better to buy a half gallon? bottled water? yogurt, etc.

Are there coffee pots in every room?

thanks.

Refridgerators and Coffee Pots are in each room. (All Deluxe and Moderate Disney Resorts have them) It is better if you purchase the half gallon milk. The following photos are from Deb's website showing you the exact size.

We just had a split stay at the Lodge with the second half at the Dolphin. Myself, my husband, our 12-year old daughter and my 9-year old neice all agreed: we prefer the Wilderness Lodge!!

We decided not to sell our house, so we are going back to WDW for a quickie. Seems like a fair trade off to me.:rotfl2:

I'm booked for a mid-December Christmas trip to WL with the 40% off code my husband got. We've got bunkbeds, Courtyard view--so excited!!

Well this just can't be. I had to go serching for this thread. I can't beleive it had slipped off page 1!

Okay does anyone remember the Captians Plan & Family Plans they had a while back? They were for use of the water mice, pontoons, bikes and such. I am trying to find out if this is still something that exists. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Because Disney cancels then brings these plans back, I have the following information posted on page 1.

Attention: The Family Plans have once again been discontinued as of June 1, 2007
At The marina I was referred to the new Disney Premium Plan that when booking this package offers unlimited use of the boats and bicycles, so for now no more Captain or Family Plans. I will note this information but as they have discontinued these plans before they may bring them back. If you are interested in either of these plans please check at the Marina for current discounts. As for now they have a 10% discount for DVC members and a 15% discount for AP pass holders
**Recreation Family Plans:
Plan includes the Water Mouse, Pontoon Boats, Canopy Boats, Sailboats and Bicycles, (Cruises and Surry Biles NOT included)
Captain Plan: 4 hours of rental per Group
Family Plan: Length of Stay Plan (10 Day Rate for Unlimited use of Equipment Listed Above) (Up to 5 Guests per Plan)

I would verify during your stay if they are in effect, Disney seems to change these back and forth depending on the time of year.

I'm sorry Beckie. I looked through the thread, must have skipped right over it. :sad2: Thanks for the info.

Loribell

Don't worry about not seeing it, the other day when I started the new thread I started to remove the information because the Plans have been canceled. They have canceled then brought them back three different times (That I know of) so I said what the heck, they are such good deals I'll just let anyone interested in them to be sure to ask.

I had some fun with math this morning. I was looking at the room map and realized that 65% of the WL rooms are "Courtyard View" (451 rooms), 25% are "Woods View" (172 rooms), and 10% are "Standard View" (74 rooms).

I don't believe that they actually sell 65% at Courtyard. And I also believe that they oversell Standard (more than 10%) So it seems to make sense as to why upgrades to Woods or Courtyard are offered so frequently. Just something to think about :)
