Has anyone been to the sprinkles cupcakes place? We were thinking about making a stop once we got off the plane to take bak to the hotel. worth it?

I had them once and I was NOT impressed--mine are MUCH better! And they are very pricey to boot . . . .

We like the red velvet. If you are a cupcake efficianado then check it out just to have an opinion of your own about it.

I personally loved them. I liked the orange and red velvet. yum!

It's one of those things that has created a buzz and if you're like me you have to try them for yourself! I like the plain white/vanilla ones. I'm not usually so boring but they are my favorite. Red velvet is good too. It reminds me of the Krispy Kreme donut craze. Some loved them, some thought they were nothing special.

I think you have to try them for yourself to form an opinion on them. Food is like that. After watching a 5 minute clip on the Food Network's Unwrapped (Greetings from L.A.) me and hubby will be sharing at least one on our trip. They use the world's most expensive vanilla, and other high quality ingredients.

Here is their website.

I'm asuming you're flying into LAX -- keep in mind that the closest Sprinkles storefront is not close to the airport at all. Additionally, it's in one of the hardest places to park in Los Angeles (Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive area). So, it's not really a "quick stop" for cupcakes. You're talking about going at least an hour out of your way.

Besides, my favorite cupcakes in LA are from Joan's on Third (unfortunately, even further from LAX than Sprinkles!).

Having said all that, if you really want to try them, I don't think you'd be disappointed. The cupcakes are good and the store is pretty. It would be a fun stop, it just would take some time to do it.

Have a great trip!

That's the one place I wouldn't have minded going to during our last trip. I figured it would take awhile to get there though, so I didn't pursue it. Once I get to DL, I don't even want to leave to go to the convenience store around the corner.

Once you're at the Disneyland Resort, there's one about 45 minutes out of the way in Newport, near Fashion Island. The parking's probably a lot easier there :)

Well, the limo that is picking us up is going to take us on a tour of hollywood, the hollywood sign, the Chinese theatre, ect. Is Sprinkles really that far away from there?

The Chinese Theatre is in Hollywood - the Sprinkles store is in Beverly Hills - probably around 8 miles or so apart (around 20 minutes with no traffic). You could ask your driver if he/she is willing to make a stop in Beverly Hills on the way to Hollywood. Having a driver, you also wouldn't have to worry about the parking, so you might be able to make a quick stop after all.

The address is 9635 Little Santa Monica Blvd. It's between Beford and Camden, 2 blocks west of Rodeo.

Enjoy!

So, leaving the airport we would be passing Beverly Hills on the way to Hollywood?

Make sure to pay attention to what's available when (not all cupcakes are made on any given day). I recently made my first trip there last month and omg the peanut butter chocolate chip cupcakes are absolute bliss. :goodvibes

Also, they sell Sprinkles cupcake mixes at Williams Sonoma. The mixes come with frosting recipes and candy dots so you can make the famous cupcakes at home (I converted the red velvet cupcake mix into a regular cake for my parents' 25th wedding anniversary and loved licking the bowl).

Sort of. It's easier for your driver just to go straight up La Cienega right to Hollywood. Beverly Hills technically requires the driver to go a bit out of the way to the west. But I don't think it's an inconvenience.

I don't think I have enough posts to be able to post a hyperlink, but you can do a multiple destination search on yahoo or google maps.

Use the following 3 locations to see where your driver would have to go:

LAX

9635 Santa Monica Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA (we call it "little" santa monica because Santa Monica splits in two near Rodeo drive)

6925 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90028 (the address for the Chinese Theatre)

Hope this helps.

If you're going to be there at Sprinkles, make a stop at Pinkberry! It's right across the street! Yum Yum! :)
