Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes - Part 6

Well, I finally got around to making my son some Pokemon jammies! Months ago, Cindee (livndisney) sent me some Pokemon fabric that she found in her stash. I was soooo excited -- let me just tell you the ladies on the Disboutique thread are truly one in a million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, my son went to the doctor yesterday to find out that he has strep and he had to get a shot. I felt sorry for him so I thought to brighten his spirits I would finally make the Pokemon jammies. I was just going to surprise him but he saw me with the fabric (he hadn't even seen it yet), he was super excited!!!!!

This pic is terrible but you can get an idea of what they look like. I cut out 3 of the Pokemon from the fabric to applique and after I get them on the shirt he kept asking me to do more -- I told him he was insane!! I am still not great at appliqueing but this game be looooooooottttttsssss of practice. I appliqued around every little bit except for the tiny eyes.

He is sii cute and the jammies are great!

Here are the rest of my princess onsies. What do you think, I am beginner and don't know how to sew and don't own a sewing machine so I am limited on what I can do.

She will be so cute in these! I don't applique either! That fabric paint is just tooo easy and it looks great!

Here is my DD6 outfit I finished
HPIM1351.jpg

A closeup of the shirt. I had made this originally with elastic around the arms, but Kenzie didn't like them, so I cut off the elastic.

And just because, my new puppy and kitty snuggling together!
HPIM1350.jpg

This looks great tooo! And your puppy and kitty are cute!!!

I think Leslie made something like that. I love the pink and green and black together and the ruffle looks perfect to me. The Tessa/Megan is my favorite pose! :rotfl:

Thanks! I thought you might like that pose! And I do think it was Leslie that I cased this from! Of course hers was a little different and not as wonky as mine!

Well..I finally have something to post... Anyway, I finally finished this two Valentine Day stripwork jumper. One is for my dd, and the other one is for one of her little friends...I am unsure yet which one I will keep and which one I will give away. They are very similar and too similar, I think but I wanted to work with the fabric that I already bought.

I am thinking of making the portrait peasant top to wear inside...do you think a pink top, a red top or a white top will work the best?

Here's the first one...

and the second one...
IMG_3634p.jpg

They are FANTASTIC! I love how they turned out!

OBSESSEDWITHTHEMOUSE!-Sorry it wouldn't let me quote you but your outfits were AWESOME! And your kids are just too cute! I am sure they got a TON of attention!

Woohoo another clothie :woohoo: :hippie: Another addicition of mine :rolleyes1 Those ones are pockets but I do have some covers too (though a friend made them for me) with the Pooh Gang on it :)

Oh shoot... now I am thinking that I need to collect Disney diapers for our trip! :scared1:
I just had fuzzifannies make me a custom applique pocket, now I'm thinking I should have had her do a Disney one. :rotfl:
I'm so glad to meet another CDer in a "regular" place!

Obssessedwiththemouse: I don't think I spelled obsessed right, but you know how you are! I love all your outfits. The Jasmine one is still my favorite!!

NOTE to self when you can't breathe as is, due to being sick REMEMBER to BREATHE while looking at Heathersue's Cinderella  this is what my face looked like......wow that is a beautimus dress you should be holding your head up high what a great job.
Now i am not able to remember everything but i know there were quite a few adorable things posted great job! Everyone ,
I am feeling a lil better but now i have to clean up the aftermath of mom being sick
(Did a Tasmanian Devil fly through myHouse):scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I feel so special that I caused you to stop breathing! ;) I just love it when I get sick and then have to clean up days worth of mess when I'm better. Is it REALLY that hard to put dishes in the dishwasher? I think not! Glad you're feeling better!

Wow! That is all I can say! We will be taking our very first family trip tp WDW in June. I started sewing DD first outfit and thought "hmmm...I wonder if I can find any really cool ideas online?" Silly me! You guys are great:worship: !!!! I have spent the last week looking at everything :surfweb: but now I must sew.
:welcome: :welcome: Warning: this thread is addictive!!! Make sure you share what you make with us!

th_177.jpg

th_179.jpg

We will also be going to Hawaii when we are on our trip and I saw some lovely Frangipani floral print yesterday (but didn't grab any as my hands were full of other bolts of fabric) so I'm going back today so I can make a couple of shirred dresses for over their swimwear :)

Oh and can someone give me measurements of a 4-5 year old - I can use my eldest DD for the 3yo stuff as that is how old my youngest will be when we go - but have no idea how big a 5 year old is :confused3

Yay!! Shirring is our friend!!! When something doesn't fit, I just shirr the back. One of the first things I made after finding this thread was a top quite similar to the one you just posted!

As for measurements, 4-5 year olds can be shaped so differently! Tessa is almost 5 and she is 44 1/4" tall and her measurements are chest-21", waist-19", hips- 22". From the base of her neck to the floor is 39.5" and from her waist to the floor is 25.5". I would have gave you measurements in cm, but my measuring tape only has inches!

Where are you going in Hawaii? We went to Kauai when I was pregnant with Tessa and it was truly heaven on earth!! We rented this house and it was SOOOO wonderful:
http://www.leapingwaterfalls.com/
We also went to Honolulu, which I wasn't real crazy about.

If you want to read about our vacation, I have a rather long account (with little picthttp://www.geocities.com/heaths32/hawaii.htmlures) on my website:

SO, is the Euchre game played with spoons? Is that the game you're all talking about?
I can say with confidence that it's not played with spoons! Then again, maybe that's where we went wrong. :confused3

This is what we're doing today....can you guess...Yesterday was Lexie's 5th birthday. So today we're having her party..
Here is a video of her with her new singing balloon...
Sorry it's sideways...LOL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fVUBVRMDe8
What an adorable video! That Lexie is such a cutie pie!! Tessa's 5th birthday is on March 19, so they're pretty close!

I watched your beach video too and it's gorgeous!!

Wow that is beautiful! I love it! She will get a lot of compliments wearing that dress at WDW! Take a picture of her near the wishing well!

BTW, where did you get the Tinkerbell doggie coat?
The wishing well picture is a great idea!

I bought Josie's jacket off of disneyshopping.com last year for $3!! I just made her another one out of flannel using that jacket as a pattern (minus the fur collar). It was really easy. I just have to add snaps or something to keep it on.

Euchre is a card game using half the deck (9's to Aces). Four people play in two teams.
Yeah, what she said...

Oh my gosh, he looks adorable!!! The jammies look great!

These are so pretty! I love how sparkly you made them!!!

Beautiful! I love her braids and the dress. She reminds me so much of my sister when she was little. Hey, when Megan was a flower girl she picked up all the flowers after she emptied her basket. She didn't want to leave a mess! She was way too young to be a flowergirl in my opinion (she just turned four) and I was so afraid she would ruin the wedding, but my sister really wanted her to be in it. My mom grabbed her and held her on her lap after she picked up all the flowers so it was fine.

Oh my gosh, it is beyond words! I love love love the birdie pulling at the ribbon. I cannot show this to Megan at all (even though she is doing the Megan) because she will demand one herself! That child really should be modeling: the camera loves her!
Tessa was a flowergirl when she was just 4, too. She kept throwing the flowers throughout the entire wedding- overhanded at times. It was pretty funny. The mother of the bride refused to let me sit in the front row (even though it was empty besides her and the bride wanted me to sit there), so there wasn't much I could do!

We are going to WDW in June, and I am going to try and make my dd a few customs. I am just wondering what do you do with the disney themed customs that you make for the kids after your trip? Do they wear them out and about, wear them to school, ....etc or are they just wear to Disney World or Disney Land clothes?
Tessa wears them all the time. Tessa has wore her AK outfit quite a bit to the local zoo. Her latest Cinderella dress will be saved for WDW, though.

That is so cute!!!!

Aww, that is such a sweet video!!!! I love these!! I have never seen a balloon like that! How Cool!!!!! Lexie is very close in age to Lydia and Dallas! Only a month younger. We hve a bunch of cute 5 year olds on here!

I don't really play cards, so I'm afraid I will be a hard one to teach! You know, my sister once single handedly (with her husband's help) brought down and ENTIRE Euchre tournament!!! Tragic really. :scared1: I'm afraid it may run in the family!

a-ha was one of my favorite bands back in the day. Take on me, take me on. Classic lyrics, don't you think? Morton, Pal and the other guy, I miss yah!

Aww, thanks for the compliments about Lyddy! When Corey was Heather's ringbearer, he took my flowers and walked up the aisle with them! We said he was the flower boy! He was sOOOOOOO cute!!! He was only 2 at the time, and he had the cutest little tux!!! He was such a little doll! We have a great picture of him inspecting the train on Hether's dress, it's like he's studying the design of it or something!
A-hem, I think you're forgetting a very important almost 5 year old!!

You know, those friends never invited us over on euchre night again. :confused3 I hear tell that the euchre tournament was never the same after the "night of the Kites".

Wasn't that A-ha guy so cute and tragic as he's banging against the walls- all squiggly drawn and handsome?

I LOVE that picture! I'm fixin' to post some video of my wedding on youtube for all to see.

These are very cute! It'd be a tough choice to pick which one to keep.

Shannon,
is this the machine you have? I was JUST looking at this machine at Wallyword. ( I keep telling myself I don't NEED a new machine........)

I have the Costco version of this same machine. I think the only difference is that mine has a few more stitches, and besides that it is the same machine. Since not everyone has access to Costco, I mention the machine at WalMart since it's virtually the same machine. I LOVE my machine. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

I love your outfits! I'm making a skirt with one of those fabrics. :) So doing the elastic in the top straps would eliminate the buttonholes right? I hate doing buttonholes!!! And they can just pull it over their head? How long did you make your straps?

Compliments to all of you guys!! All these clothes are WONDERFUL!! I wish I had the talent to do this!! I'm only 16, so its not too late to start right?! ;)

-TizianaL
:welcome:!!! I stopped sewing at 17 after a tragic way-too-big-for-my-baby-nephew sewing incident. I just started up again at 32. You can do it!!

Hello everyone....I have been scanning and love the adorable outfits posted this week. And thank you to everyone on the kind compliments on the girls outfits. You all are the bestest!!!! So sweet and supportive and kind and generous :lovestruc and of course creative and funny too! I love you gals and guys!!!! :goodvibes
Aw shucks, we love you too!:grouphug:

Teresa: love the story about Corey! I bet he was the cutest ringbearer!

He was!!

The outfit is SOOO pretty!

Your puppy and kitten are so adorable! We didn't get the dog I wanted to adopt. :sad2: Someone else was supposedly in front of us in line, but I think it's because she didn't want to adopt to a family with a 19 month old (although he's very gentle with our dog).

That sewing machine looks great! I have the Brother CS6000i that I love!! It's a bit cheaper- $179 at Walmart.

Wow! I'd better not get on Teresa's ebay distribution list, because I would spend all day looking at weird stuff and wouldn't get anything done!

I once sent Teresa a link to a grown, very overweight man wearing a Hershey's kiss costume on ebay. It appeared that he had nothing on underneath it, with his hair legs sticking out the bottom. Really made ME want to buy it! :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, those are so cute! I wish I had time to sew some Valentine's stuff!

I'm not in the market for a new machine though I must say the Embroidery machines have me entrigued. I don't think I'd use one enough having only boys to warrant the cost. That being said have you looked at Overstock dot com for sew machines. They have a decent variety and the prices seem very good. Just a thought for any of you looking. We've had very good luck buying things from Overstock in the past.

Thanks everyone. Now I just have to learn to do something else other than stripwork jumper...and also I need to learn to do buttonholes!

I think I will do a white peasant top to go underneath it.

I love your outfits! I'm making a skirt with one of those fabrics. :) So doing the elastic in the top straps would eliminate the buttonholes right? I hate doing buttonholes!!! And they can just pull it over their head? How long did you make your straps?

I double the length of the straps, and the elastic is 9 inches long(with 1/2 inch allowance on each end for me to sew them)....there was some trial and error with the length of the elastic...I made it longer initially, and it was way too long. When I did a Christmas stripwork jumper, someone here (I am sorry but I can't remember who it was) suggested putting elastic in the straps since I am afraid to attempt buttonholes...and I love how it turn out. It made it easier for dd to pull it over her head than the one I made without elastic.

Welcome..and it's never too late to start! I am 37 and I just started to learn to sew. It's a lot of fun, and quite addicting too...and at times, therapeutic! LOL

These tops are so cute!~ Are they both made with the pillowcases from Wal-mart?

 OK here they are....pics of the pillowcase dress and my DD9's outfit.

I loved :lovestruc the whole princess and couldnt bear to cut her head off :scared: for the bodice, so I made it into a huge applique! ;) I made the top big enough to wear for the next year or so in hopes that a Disney vacation will materialize.....popcorn::

IMGP4913.jpg

DD9 picked out the fabrics and the patterns (From YCMT)....

IMGP4907.jpg

IMGP4909.jpg

I love these pants. I was looking at the instructions on YCMT but $14.95 :scared1: :scared1: I think I may just try to wing it. I am not sure if I can wing a peasant top.

:rotfl: Hey! I resemble that remark!

Love that balloon. Where'd you get that? Leigh's birthday is next month, and that is just the neatest thing!

Hi Tom!
I got the balloon at Publix...our local grocery store. PM me if you can't find it, and I can send you one. They come uninflated...LOL..then you can take it to any party store and they will blow it up for you.

These are two bows that I absolutley loved, but can't find the maker...any ideas? I bought these a LONG... time ago, but because the girls always wear two a piece, they never wore these...

I don't know, but those are very, very cute! I'd love to know where you purchased them.

Hello, Everyone! Ok so I have not been on for a week and I am going back to read everything! I may be a while!
But I have been busy with the holiday weekend, my kids had a cheer competition and a ton of sewing. All while my husband left for 4 days to visit his grandma in terlingua, TX and I had all 3 kids with no break! whew! I have been busy. here is a sneak preview of a few things I finished!

IMG_0590.jpg

Anastasia does not like this outfit and says the skirt is for little kids - so Josephine now has it in her closet!
IMG_0594.jpg

Lori

I love the pettiskirt outfit on JoJo. It would be perfect for the 4th of July. I guess Anastasia's loss is Josephine's gain. I'm sorry she is outgrowing the boutique look: you really have mastered it.

BTW since WHEN does Teresajoy ONLY have 5 neices? Morgan, Megan, Ireland........... and those are just in FL she has 49 other states full of neices LOL (Not to mention our International friends) teresajoy -hope you bought a lot!!!!! of ice cream fabric :dance3:

Yes, Megan is very specific in counting her on-line friends: wait until I tell her they have been upgraded to cousins. She will be in heaven!

THanks! I have seen the flannel, but I was wanting some cotton. We are going to the world in April, so I wanted some cotton. I have some Hannah Montanna material, but I want a HSM outfit. I thought about making a strip jumper with some material with musical notes, and adding some applique of HSM..........IDK

I am attempting a peasant top at the moment, and I messed up the sleeves!!!!!!! I sewed them on wrong,:headache: and it was time to Step Away From the Machine!!:lmao:

I bought a HSM pillowcase when I got the Princess ones at WalMart. I don't know what to do with it yet, but it's cute.

Hi girls!

We just got back from Disney a little while ago and I wanted to share some pictures of the outfits I made...Enjoy!

I remember crying because I had to wear tights that had aline across my toe. And, we wore tights at least three times a week! Thankfully, my kids don't have any issues like that!

Sometimes, I think I just share way too much information!

Those are so pretty! I think I like the first one just a little better, but I'm not sure, they are equally gorgeous!!! Which one does your daughter like?

A-hem, I think you're forgetting a very important almost 5 year old!!

You know, those friends never invited us over on euchre night again. :confused3 I hear tell that the euchre tournament was never the same after the "night of the Kites".

I LOVE that picture! I'm fixin' to post some video of my wedding on youtube for all to see.

I could NEVER forget Tessa! I was only thinking of the ones with birthdays within a month of each other. Enjoy your last two months with a 4 year old girl!

I started to get excited about your video being on Youtube, but then I realized I would be in it too! :scared1:

I still love that A-ha video!

I once sent Teresa a link to a grown, very overweight man wearing a Hershey's kiss costume on ebay. It appeared that he had nothing on underneath it, with his hair legs sticking out the bottom. Really made ME want to buy it! :thumbsup2
Just the memory is making me giggle like a school girl!
Thanks everyone. Now I just have to learn to do something else other than stripwork jumper...and also I need to learn to do buttonholes!

Leslie was the first to post an outfit with the elastic straps, such a cool idea I think! I also think it adds to the look of the outfit. Kind of like an extra ruffle!

I think the white peasant top is a great idea.

I love these pants. I was looking at the instructions on YCMT but $14.95 :scared1: :scared1: I think I may just try to wing it. I am not sure if I can wing a peasant top.

The one in the bookmarks, the Just Tutes one, is really easy to do and turns out very nice.

Crocheted blankets give me the willys. They Creak!!!!! oooohhhh!!!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{{{shiver}}}}}}}}}}}} I can barely wash them without going into a fit, similar to my fear of styrofoam......

Very cute! I love this picture, they both look so happy!

I think I forgot to mention it, but my favorite is the Minnie one in front of the minnie quilt.

My sister found me some Hannah Montana Flannel!

I am so excited, but I can't find the right font.

Stephres, can you point me in the right direction?

How is your back feeling? I hope you are getting better.

I'm sorry I am just now seeing this. I googled Hannah Montana font and found it I think at dafont.com. It is called CoopFlaired. That is for the Montana part of the logo. The Hannah part is something else. PM me if you want me to e-mail the font to you if you can't find it.

Thanks for asking, my back is much better, but I am still taking it easy.

Well, I finally got around to making my son some Pokemon jammies! Months ago, Cindee (livndisney) sent me some Pokemon fabric that she found in her stash. So cute! I can't let my son see these or he will want some for sure. I made him some Picachu pjs and he wears them almost every night!

Cute! We love Nemo around here too. I love that fabric!

Here is my DD6 outfit I finished
HPIM1351.jpg

A closeup of the shirt. I had made this originally with elastic around the arms, but Kenzie didn't like them, so I cut off the elastic.
HPIM1352.jpg

And just because, my new puppy and kitty snuggling together!
HPIM1350.jpg

Very pretty! I think I remember you saying the purple was hard to work with. Did it get easier the more you sewed? Your puppy and kitty are adorable!

He was adorable!!! He was the ringbearer at our brother's wedding the year after too. Sooooo cute!!!! I need to find those pictures somewhere. Hey Heather, do you have that picture of Corey??

I hated elastic around my arms as a kid too! Drove me NUTS! I also hated lines across the toes of my socks, tags, bumpy seams, itchy thread....my poor Mom, there was only one kind of tights that I would wear, and one type of sock that didn't drive me absolutely insane. I remember crying because I had to wear tights that had aline across my toe. And, we wore tights at least three times a week! Thankfully, my kids don't have any issues like that!

Sometimes, I think I just share way too much information!

I would love to see little Corey!

My mother made my Easter dresses (among other things) because I could not stand the itchy lace they would put on store-bought ones. I was very picky about the fabrics I would wear.

You, too much information? Never! :rotfl:

I like the first one best but I would let your daughter pick. I think a white peasant top would look perfect!

Hey, who had the Scrappy dog in the snow? I just remembered looking at him before our internet went out. He was so cute! My son walked by and asked when I took that picture of Scrappy. I told him to look closer and he realized it was not our dog. I think your dog needs a sweater though!
