What's the best and quickest way to the MGM park from the Polynesian resort? We will have kids in tow... double-stroller... I'm wondering if I can avoid going on the bus?

we stayed at the poly in november and we rode the bus to mgm. It was not bad at all.
the only other way i can think of is ride the monorail to epcot......then walk over to the boats at world showcase, then i think you can boat over to mgm or walk
not really sure.

I think the easiest way is to take the short walk to the TTC and catch the bus there. That way you don't have other stops to make.:)

Yes, walking to the TTC and taking the non-stop bus to MGM is the best way to go. The other bus (Poly, and other lagoon resorts) doesn't come that much to the Poly, and the wait times are usually 25 minutes or more (unless you are really lucky) and the ride is VERY long because it makes stops at the other resorts. :)

We are in the exact same situation as you! kids, double stroller, ways to avoid the bus! This is what we do: take the monorail at the TTC directly to Epcot. Walk through the international gateway in world showcase. At this point, you can hop on the boat to MGM (roll your stroller right on), or else you can walk a bit and enjoy the boardwalk area and catch the boat at Swan/Dolphin and I believe that is a direct ride to MGM from there.

Having said all that, it is by no means a quick way to get to MGM from Poly! When we stay at a monorail resort, what we do is plan an Epcot morning and then eat lunch in the countries and then go thru the international gateway and head to MGM for the afternoon. Personally, we love doing it this way. However, if we are pressed for time, then we do take the bus from TTC. We bite the bullet and unload the double stroller and fold it up, lol. But on a normal day, we take our time and get to MGM as I outlined above.

But remember if you do the Epcot route, you must use admission to get through Epcot.

I'd just fold the stroller myself.

The OP did say the BEST way, not, the easiest way.

The best way is to take the boats to MK then Monorail to TTC, Monorail to Epcot then the boats to MGM.

Not the easiest, but, the most fun!

(Before you ask, yes, we have done this. Plan for a long day)

No need to go to MK from Poly. Just walk to the TTC and catch the monorail to Epcot, then boats to MGM.

Avoid the bus from the Poly. to MGM -- it took what seemed like forever and ours kids were getting very restless! Plus dealing with a stroller on the bus isn't fun!

I second the suggest to stroll to the TTC (it's really a nice quick walk) and catch the monorail to Epcot and boat to MGM.

Last month when I went to MGM their bus was just arriving as we were walking to the bus stop area, although I will say that was also complete luck.

I can't imagine the bus being a worse alternative than taking a monorail one stop, getting on another, getting off at Epcot, taking 15 minutes at least to walk to the Exit to the Boardwalk, then taking at least a 20 minute boat ride to MGM.

Someone mentioned a direct bus from TTC. Either take that, or monrail to MK and direct bus to MGM...or wait for your resort bus. I believe the most stops that one would make is one. Is Polyn often not grouped with contemporary.

I agree! The walk through Epcot is 15 minutes if you are hoofing it and the boat is 20 and stops at YC/BC and the Swan/ Dolphin. (And the boats don't run as frequently as the buses.) AND, those boats are fairly small, if it is crowded, you may or may not have to fold up your stroller anyway! Fold up the stoller on the bus unless you want to waste half your day in transit!:scared1:

Oh, my! Why not take the launch to GF, monorail to MK, boat to WL, launch to CR, monorail to Mk and then ferry to TTC. Then hop the monorail to Epcot, then.......:rotfl: But your route certainly does sound like fun!:goodvibes

Seriously, the poster asked for fastest and best. The direct buses run from the TTC to MGM every 20 minutes. It is a short walk from the Polynesian to the TTC. From Tahiti and Rapa Nui it's a matter of 2 or 3 minutes to the buses.

The Polynesian shares with either the CR or GF in our experience.

BTW, there is no bus from the MK bus depot to other parks. Those buses go to resorts only.

No kids to deal with, but we found the buses to be a perfectly acceptable way to get to MGM from the Poly in early November. We waited for a few minutes, we did have to visit a few other resorts before we were officially on our way, but it wasn't painful.

Well we did the MK--monorail---TTC---bus to MGM and missed our ADR! The manager was nice enough to accomodate us, but man that was a lot of work.

Since the stroller off and on the bus is an issue for you and if the walk to TTC is close from the Poly AND its not raining that would be the way to go.

If its raining, monorail to TTC then MGM bus.

There is always the Taxi option too.

I can't imagine taking the monorail from the Polynesian to the TTC raining or not. If it's raining, you still have to walk outside to get from a longhouse to the GCH and from the monorail to the buses.

If rain is an issue, walk to the Polynesian bus stop (it's covered). From Rapa Nui ot Tahiti, the TTC might be as dry a route because once you get to the first part of the TTC, there is roofing which runs the length of the structure to the buses.

We found the best way to get to MGM and AK from the poly, is to walk to the TTC and take the non stop bus.
