um...CROWD pictures?

I'd have to disagree with this. We went in April (the last week) this year. Every park was an absolute madhouse. Granted it might not be "as busy" as it would in say the height of summer or during Christmas, but we were thinking this was a slower time. It didn't turn out to be the case at all. The only relief from the crowds (somewhat) was at UO and SW. I vowed never to go back in April again.

i think it depends on your own perspective of busy! we have been the last 2 years end april begining may, and are going back roughly same time next years. we have thought both times to be fairly quite. i suffer from panic attacks in crowded places and only had 2 problems with it this year. both times it was partly my own fault and could have been prevented.

the 1st one: we watched spectro from outside the chrismas shop in liberty square, then tried to walk across main st to tomorrowland straight after.

2nd one: watched wishes from main st near caseys corner then tried to go to splash mountain.

both times everyone else was leaving the park (we had stayed for emh) so was hard trying to get through crowds.

susan555 try worry bout it being busy now, it'll just make it worse for you. i found it ok.

These photos are terrifying, I have to admit.

We are going to be at WDW May 10-17 (my kids' first trip), and thought we were attending at a somewhat "average" attendance time, from the guidebooks. But from these photos, it will be SO BUSY.

Yikes! Not sure how to prepare for crowds like these!

Was there last year, MAy 9-15th.

I have visited at Christmas and New Years and as far as last year's trip in MAy, it wasn't anywhere near those type of crowds.

It was average attendance.
Don't panic until you get there and actually see the crowds.

I think you will be fine.

GOSH, these pics have me freaked out too. We're going next Oct. I've always heard this was a great time to go attendance-wise. Now I'm hearing that F & W F causes major jams. Is Oct not a good month to visit anymore, for those of us who don't like crowds?

Btw, I have been to Disney in May (1995-moderate attendance), December (1996-NO crowds-almost too dead), Septermber (2001-week of September 11th so not a good judge of typical crowds) September again (2003-slim to moderate crowds), and January (2004-low attendance but a little too cold).

Hey, now that it's the most crowded time at Disney, I think everyone at the parks now or going in the next few days or so should take some crowd pictures :)

I am by no means a WDW expert, last time I was there was with Dad over 20 yrs ago. Here is my thought on quite a few of the crazy crowded pics, and please correct me if I'm wrong (here's to hoping I'm not). It just seems as tho the majority of the super crowded ones appear to be taken 1)at park opening/rope drop; 2)before/after a parade; or 3) for a water type attraction in august. To me these would be times when the park would appear more crowded, as more people are mashed into a smaller area. I tell you one thing though....if the fast pass line for BTM look like that one did when we go in January, well, hmmm...wow.

Hey, Knox. We were there the same day. I don't have a good crowd photo... didn't think to get one. This is the shot closest to 2:54 PM that I have... it was taken at 2:39 PM.

I will comment about the crowds that day, though... they were really not bad at all. I don't think I saw any standby wait times longer than around 40 minutes, and even those had no effect on us... we loosely followed a UG touring plan, and between 6:20 and 6:40 PM we rode Expedition Everest three times in a row with no wait at all... just walked on. Unfortunately, we got stuck on Primeval Whirl just before closing... took about 15 minutes for the CMs to get to our car (stuck on the track) and escort us off the ride.

Your picture of the Osborne Lights says it is from the Tuesday before T-Day.///I didn't know they had the lights/decorations up before Thanksgiving! When does the Christmas magic begin?

TDC Nala, We go March 1-15 2008. Please tell me your picture was not a good example of the crowds that time of year. I was under the understanding that the first 2 weeks of March were generally slow. Anyone else have any early March experience?

Much like Rick who supposedly went to Casablanca for the waters.. you were misinformed.

The first two weeks of March are ALWAYS spring break for schools and universities across North America. I'ts a BUSY time. Period. And this year Easter is March 23rd.. so the entire month of March will be just stupid busy I fear.

Sorry to be the bearer of not so great news.

Bottom line - it will most assuredly NOT be a slow time. Sorry.

Knox

here is a no crowd picture:

Okay, so technically the park wasn't open, and wasn't scheduled to open for another hour. lol.
