Do you ever get Disney Burn-out?

I think I have Disney Burn-out. :sad1: I have been to the World three times in 2007. In Jan. for a week with the kids (5 and 3), in April for three days with DH to watch my little sister march with her HS Band, and for five days in Sept. with my mom for free dining.
Problem is that last trip wasn't that great and I haven't really been even thinking about our next trip. We have a DCL cruise booked with the kids for next month. I have been planning for that, but usually I have our next trip booked before we ever leave for the first. I am excited about the cruise as we have never been on one. But I haven't even been here on the boards much. I was popping in several times a day.;)
Don't get me wrong, we love Disney and usually don't vaca anywhere else, but I think I might have over done it this year. Anyone else ever get this way?

I can honestly say this has never happened to me, but I have never been able to go three times in one year. After your DCL vacation, you might want to take a little break and then when you start getting ancy then you can start booking another trip. Hope you snap out of it soon! :goodvibes

In 1995 I lived in New York City. I found really cheap airfare from Newark to Orlando.. That year I had an Annual Pass and flew down about 7 times.

From 2000 to 2006 I didn't go at all. I went in June of 2006. And now..

I leave in just a few hours for my third trip in 2007.

1. Six nights in March (POP
2. Four nights in June (CSR)
3. Six nights in Decbr (A.S. Sports)

So far.. I haven't overdosed. I'll report back next week.

Well as someone who just booked all the trips you see in my siggy, we have yet to suffer from burnout, but it's normal too.

Plus your kids are little. As they get older you can do more things... Go again with your kids and see WDW through their eyes :)

We haven't gotten burnout yet but we seem to do different types of trips every time. Some times the parks are the focus, we'll go longer and really take out time. Other years its short 5 day trips. This year Dh and I did a long weekend where we spent a lot of time relaxing at the resort.
Haven't reached burn out yet.

What's "Disney burn-out?"
dunno.gif

I guess it's probably when Lightning McQueen burn's rubber and takes off very fast.. at the Disney Hollywood Studios..

"Disney Burn-out"

Knox, you should be asleep and getting ready to head out. Hope to see you there while we're both on our vacations. I'll have the small lime-green Mickey heads somewhere in our party, but not sure where though.

I will never get burned out but, my DH is. :sad1:

We have gone every year since we got married in 1996. We went twice in 99. Put it this way..our oldest son is 10 and he has been 11 times. We live in NY and if we lived closer I think we would go every month..lol.

We were there in September for 10 days. I think the length of the trip combined with the Free Dining crowds did him in. He really enjoyed our stay at SSR. It was our first DVC stay. But, he wants to skip next year and go back in 2009. :scared1:

I, on the other hand, can't get enough!! I am heading down in 11 days with two of my girl friends for a quick trip to see the Castle and go to MVMCP. DH will be gladly staying home with our three kids.

I am pushing him to consider a trip to DL next year. I figure it will be a change of scenery for him but, still Disney for the kids and I.

If this helps I can relate. We just took our third trip in 18 mos. to WDW this past October. My DW and I both love Disney. We honeymooned there, our son has been 7 times and our daughter 4 times. He is eight and she is four. After this last trip we both said we have had enough for a while, or at least we feel this way for the time being. This is my first post on the boards since before we left on our last trip. We are expecting our third child in April and have decided to take a break from trips. Our next trip is going to be Disney Cruise, but that will probably not be until 2009. Both our kids want this to be our next trip and I think by then we will both be ready for a Disney trip again. As for now I am full on WDW. I know I probably don't sound like much of a Disney fan, but trust me we are huge fans. If you don't belive just check out our Christmas tree...

it's completely Disney.
Hey this gives me an idea for a new thread. Maybe this will get me excited again. What's that number for WDW again?

Yes, my family needs a break from Disney. We've been going 4-5 times year for the last 4 years, yearly before that. We have a trip planned for next week and that will be it for awhile, most likely until 2009. Planning the last few trips has been annoying, especially making reservations, and hotel experiences have been less than fantastic. I'm hoping after a break it will be fun again. :)

My family has had annual passes this year (we have gone about 30 or 40 times just this year) and we haven’t got Disneyed out. Personally, I am a little tired of Epcot (My son loves it there and we have gone way to often).

I didn't know this could happen, haha. I've been to DW twice in 2007 (March and August) and I'm on my way again this Saturday. So far, I'm not tired out. As of now, I'm probably not going to be going for a while so I'm gonna live this trip up as much as possible.

I think most people on these boards could ride every attraction in their mind but here are some tips to make that burn go away.

I say if you stay at the WL twice a year at the same dates, most people would probably get bored. Maybe switch up your resort - try something new and go during a holiday themed time of the year like X-mas or Halloween.

But trust me, one day you'll wake up and say I have to see that castle.

Yeah, it happens to us occasionally. One year we went for three weeks (once in the winter, once in the summer and once in the fall) and it was too much for us.

In less than 2 hours I leave for the airport for quick trip #5 for 2007 (I can't sleep...I'm going to be exhausted tonight). I've found that a week-long trip is too long for me and I burn out, but several 3 or 4 night trips is just about perfect.

We are going on a Disney cruise in August 2008 and the current plan is to stay out of WDW until then. I don't know if we'll make it, but we'll try! :)

WOW! Love your tree! Awesome! As far as Disney burnout goes, I don't get it really. We have been once in 2006 and once this year. To make it interesting each time we try to stay at a different resort, or try to spend more time at different parks each time. I do know that it is EXPENSIVE for the four of us to go since we fly down. I LOVE Disney, but really think it is better to wait a while between trips since then there is more likely to be newer attractions and makes everything seem different. I also think going at different times of the year is nice too because they you can experience different events(in October, we went to MNSSHP and F&W. AWESOME!!!). We don't have another trip planned as of yet since I am planning on returning to school at the beginning of 2008. So, need to save up again!:wizard: My DH is not a Disney fan at all, so maybe I will take the kids by myself next time(or at least my youngest son). He is the Disney lover like me!!! We just got back on October 28th, so am not yearning to go back yet, but give me time....:rolleyes1
