random, ridiculous snack questions

O.K., we leave for WDW in 10.5 days (can you tell I'm counting down?), and I've planned until my brain hurts. I know what we are doing pretty much every moment of every day of our trip (my husband jokes that I even schedule bathroom breaks:rotfl2: ). I know where we'll be eating and when. I've planned all the "who will ride with which kid/see which show/go to which parade at what times" logistics. I've printed out my packing list and am halfway packed. I even have most of our "off" day mapped out. Whew!

Now I just have a few silly questions for my own pleasure:

1). Tell me about the caramel popcorn. Is it like Crunch n' Munch, or Cracker Jacks (I hope not), or is it more homeade-y tasting? I loove caramel popcorn, but I'm picky about it.

2). What the heck is a zebra dome?

Thanks for the help. Since I've planned myself to death, I have to have SOMETHING to wonder about for the next 10 days!

I don't know if the caramel popcorn is good or not, but I can tell you what zebra domes are. They're a little mocha tasting cake with a white coating and dark chocolate squiggles. They're pretty good, but I found them to be overrated.
Since you mentioned snacks, I will tell you what I thought was the most bang for the buck snackwise. The almonds that are cinnamon coated at Epcot. Apparently my dh agreed as he bought 5 bags of them in the two days we spent at Epcot. :rotfl: They were really good though and I think they were about $3.99 if you paid out of pocket.

I agree. The cinnamon coated almonds at EPCOT are fabulous! Warm and just yummy.

Oh ... I am getting so hungry reading all these posts! And just looking at the pics in another thread.

I know this is not that fancy ... but I still love the Mickey Head Ice Cream (on a stick) ... plain but satisfying! :thumbsup2

The carmel corn from MK (close to the Hall of Presidents) is the best I have ever had and I make DH buy 2 buckets so I can eat one while at WDW and bring one home to munch on. It is big pieces of popcorn covered in a thick carmel glaze...it is usually fresh and warm when we buy it but it is also awesome at regular temp.

Zebra domes, we can take them or leave them....you can get them at the CS place in AK (I think it is called Mara?) They are white cake with a coffee like mousse on top covered in white chocolate with dark chocolate drizzle. They are ok but not to die for in my opinion

I agree! We also like the pecan ones. These are great to munch on, while waiting for Illuminations. Last Sept I was there with my mom, who was in a scooter. She had parked in the handicapped section next to Rose & Crown. I left her and ran down to get us both a bag of those nuts. She ate hers, then asked me to run get her another bag. I had to run all the way through the UK and past Canada to that little cart twice in less than an 30 minutes. When I got back with her second bag, she looked rather disappointed and said "You only brought one more bag? You know you're going to have to go back." I threatened to borrow her scooter if I had to go back.:rotfl2: What was bad was that I had left mine with her while I ran back to the stand for her second bag. After handing her her second bag I asked where my nuts where and she said "Oops! Well I thought you were going to bring back at least two more bags. I ate them". I was very tempted to make myself an orphan at that point.

You will be there during the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. There will be food booths thoughout the WS. They have great things to try and the majority are good for a snack credit.

Other than that, I promised my kids that they could have an Itsakadoosie every day. I never buy them at home.

Release the brake on the scooter and point her towards the lake, with that many nuts on board she'll sink pretty quick!:rotfl2:

Are they very cinammony? I love cinnamon tasting things and we don't get nearly enough in the UK.
