How soon after you board can you order room service?

Okay, so maybe it's a tacky and very revealing question but what the heck! I confess, I am normally too cheap to ever order room service. I get some kind of thrill knowing that should I want to, I could order whatever I wanted without having to pay for it (except the tip, of course! ;) ) In the past, all I have ever ordered is a Mickey Bar and chocolate chip cookies before bed but now I am having dark and sinister thoughts of ordering one of those cheese and cracker trays y'all talk about on here as soon as I board just to have something to munch on in the room as we revel in the start of much awaited DCL vacation! I know there is plenty to eat at Topsiders....but as my cruise approaches, I can feel the room service demon in me start to grow:rotfl2: Last question, is there anything you can order from room service that is really good that you can't get elsewhere???

Don't know about how soon you can order but if you order a coke there was a charge for that. Mine was in a can, which I didn't ask for but had no problem with, and it costed about a buck or two. The BLT is just awesome :cheer2:

I believe we ordered the All Hands on Deck platter just as soon as we returned to our room from the safety drill. Every night, the AHOD and 3 bowls of fruit for our 3 DDs. Sometimes Mac and Cheese, too.

Oh, the memories....

I believe you can order from room service once staterooms are open at 1:30. I know that on our last cruise we place an order mid-afternoon, definitely before the safety drill.

We ordered Mickey Bars all the time, especially after shore excursions. They came very quickly. Very tasty after being in HOT Cozumel for the afternoon.

We ordered breakfast a few times, it was good. We'll be cruising again in November and the Mickey Bars will be consumed in mass quantities again.

Is room service the only way to get Mickey bars? :mickeybar
Do you tip when delivered? How much?

I believe they have them on the Kids Menu. Yes,you should tip when they're delivered, they have to come the same distance whether you ordered a burger and fries or a Mickey Bar. ;)

Ok, silly question I guess, but what is included in the room service?? If you have to pay for pop, what items do you and don't you have to pay for?

Food is free,Pop,Smoothies,liquor,water are not.

We've been on 3 DCL cruises and have never used the room service once. I think it's time to start using it. I don't know why we've never used it. I guess we just never thought about it.

We usually get a snack from room service after getting back on the boat at a day at CC. We have late seating dinner and sometimes a little something to nibble on before the show is perfect. Plus how often can you order room service and not have to pay for it?

I would order something if I could figure out when I would even be in the room long enough to get it!! Seriously, we only slept & showered in our room last time!:goodvibes

But don't you have to pay for beer? It says about checking price for M&Ms? :confused3

Last year when we were complimentary upgraded to a verandah from a porthole, I thought we would order a ton from room service...but still only had the cheese and crackers on the first day!!! The chicken fajita wrap sounds good, has anyone tried it?

If you look at the header for that section it indicates "Snacks, Wine and Beverage Packages" and then lists the notation to call for pricing. There is a charge for everything after that, including the beverage packages in the next column.

Aside from special instances (Captain's Cocktail Reception, Return Cruisers Reception, Art Auction, etc.) you will always pay for alcohol.

It is great to see a menu! On our two cruise I thought about room service but could never find a menu in the room! Where is it hidden?

Also, can you get special diet foods (i.e. gluten free) with room service?

It is in the book that is on the desk. The book is mostly ads, but the room service menu is in there somewhere. Check the index to find it.
