This morning's outage totally screwed up my routine. I think I developed a nervous twitch from not being able to connect.

I've missed you all too!

It's amazing just how much of a part of my days this is. I was really feeling it this morning when I left for school without hearing from you. Must have hit refresh over a dozen times, just make sure, one more time, before leaving the house.

I know! Ever since I came home after lunch, I was checking. I was so happy when it came back up. Phew... ;)

Hey everyone!! Welcome home!!!
Wow! this has really messed up my day.. I feel lost!!! :)
I'm so glad to be back online!

Holy cow have I missed you guys! I had a small panic attack!

For a while, I thought something was wrong with my computer. Glad it's back.

Well that messed me up. I walked, took a shower, went to the grocery store, went to recycling and picked the kids up on time.

Did my DH talk ya'll into breaking the DIS????

I don't know who did it..but it threw the hole day off for me... :(
I did get some work done on the baby book pages.. I'm adjusting one of them because I can't get the layout to work right on the one I was going to do at first...
Now, my friend had decided to do another crop this month..so I need to start putting page kits together because I'm not coming home until I'm good and ready since I know what to expect now... might need to check the calendar.. good nothing on the books...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: If it wasn't your DH then it was mine. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

it may have been mine.. I mean he was in the doghouse last night.. still partially there tonight....and the fact that I was on the DIS when he went to bed.... well, we have our winner.. it was my DH! I'll close the doghouse door on his tight tonight!

This was a terrible morning. I was all off kilter because I couldn't start my day with the DIS. I'm so glad it's back!!

i thought it was just mine. i was so glad to come home tonight to find it working. and i really needed some hugs this am too!
ds went to KINDERGARTEN for day 1 today. we (me, dh, my mom and my bff) put him on the bus and then i cried all the way to work! i came home at 11:30 and just sat on the front lawn waiting for the bus thinking, OMG i can't believe he went to Kindergarten! were in the heck did the 5 years go. i swear (as the old saying goes) it was yesterday that i brought him home. i needed you guys this am and i was totally stressin' that i could not get online.
then tonight when we were eating supper i asked how many kids were in his class and he said "a whole flock of them"!!!! a flock, are ya kidding me! where did that come from???? he is just way too funny.
so anyways, i guess i survived my 1st day.

You DID need us this morning!!!! :grouphug: First day of Kindergarten is so hard! Ok, and you need to scrap "a whole flock of them!" That is too funny! :lmao:

My youngest is in Kindergarten this year too. I have spent everyday at the school except one since it started 8/21. I've been working in my fourth graders room, but check on the little one often. I also drive him home. He rode the bus the first two days so they would know his stop, but that's it.

Maybe tomorrow I'll really stay home and catch up on the the :laundy: that needs to be put away.

to you as well. they have not let anyone volunteer yet. they passed out the booklet and the papers to fill out to, but said they would have a meeting about it on the 15th.(i think) it's just that i can't believe he's 5. like ok, he's been 5 since february, but it really hit home yesterday!
thanks for the hugs!

They don't let us in the kindergarten room yet either. They want to the kids to settle down into a routine before parents start popping in and messing things up. "Oh, my Mom is here, I have to leave now" or "Oh, I don't behave for my Mom, guess I better act up here too" So it depends on each classroom on when the parents can help. This means my fourth grader's teacher  me right now. I almost have all her reading books labeled with their AR & points value and all the ones done are shelved accordingly.

AR points.. love those... DS11 have 22 points already... and DS6 asked his teacher when he could start.. She laughed and said we haven't discussed that yet.. He said I have with my brothers & sisters.. so since I know about it.. can I start? She gave him several to read and he wants to finish this weekend with 4 points!

ok, i'm new to this....

what the heck are AR points????

and do they do it at ALL schools??

They should be available to all schools, but it does cost some money for the schools to join.
It is in collaboration with Scholastics. There are over 100,000 books in this computer database. Each book is scored with a reading level and assigned points for content. Just because it is a high level reading, doesn't equate more points.
You read the book, take a quiz on the computer afterwards and how many right answers you get determines how many of those points you earn.

It is new to us this year in fourth grade and not all the classes are doing it.
