What should I do, now that I know about WPC menu changes?

We have an ADR for Wolfgang Puck Café for this Sept. because we all loved the "Wolf" Steak last year. Now that I know they are no longer offering steaks for DDP users, where should we go? We'll be at AK that day (no hopping) and we want steak. We already have ADR's for Le Cellier and Concourse. I could go to AK the day we eat at Concourse, but is there a good steak available inside the MK?

Cute, but chicken is cheap. We eat that at home. With the "FREE" Dining, I want the stuff that cost $10-$15 a pound in the store. You know, the stuff I can't afford to buy all year, so I can take a trip to WDW with "FREE" dining.

As far as "variety", we are going to Coral Reef and Liberty Tree Tavern.

Just to clarify one small thing. They aren't excluding DDP users from steak, they took all steak off the menu for everyone.

I am in your boat. I'm waiting until Nove 13th (my 45 day out/payy off trip date) to see if this is temporary becuase of free DDP. If it comes back on, I'm in an will use those TS points, if it's not, I'm going elsewhere.

I order what I want because I want it, too. It just so happens that I want steak! And for the record, I don't always order the most expensive one.

The comment I made about not serving steak to DDP users was because of the thread I read about the steak still being served upstairs, where they don't except DDP. I understand it was a menu change.

Although I enjoy everyones comments, I would still appreciate an opinion as to where to get a good steak dinner outside of the parks. How about Maya Grill?

I'm going to eat what I want but like the other poster I eat chicken and fish all the time at home, never steak. So if I'm going on on vacation I want a nice steak - not because it is the most expensive but because that is something I would never fix for myself at home.

Quite presumptuous of you to assume that I (we) wanted to steak for the purpose of recieving the most expensive item on the menu.

Just ot correct you, I have had the steak at WGPs many times and this is the first time I've used the DDP. I paid OOP each time in the past.

If I were trying to get the most bang for my buck, I'd not be using a TS for Kona inorder to get Tonga toast, a $9 ish menu item.

Flying Fish has my most favorite steak on WDW property. It's incredible. Also, Yachtsman Steakhouse is good. I got the steak at Rose and Crown before and it was pretty good. It's a steak and fried fish combo with mashed potatoes. My son got it but swapped the mashed potatoes for the chips. My husband and son both loved the steak at Kona cafe. I tasted it, it was very good.

I wasn't referring to you. I quoted the post that I was referring to. So, I'm not sure why you're taking it personally if I wasn't talking about you.

I just find myself annoyed when people say things like "chicken is cheap". I did not imply anywhere that ordering steak on the free DDP was an attempt to order the most expensive thing off the menu. I was clearly referring to the "chicken is cheap" comment in my quoted post and how OP wants to order something that costs $10-15 per pound.

Have you checked out Raglan Road Menu? I think they have a steak on it. They are at Downtown Disney I think Pleasure Island area. I know they have a steak on the menu because DH was staring at it because it had onion straws I think on top. Anyway Read some of the reviews on Raglan Road we are trying it out in Dec. and they say the Bread and Butter Pudding is incredible. I really looking forward to trying it out.

I didn't mean to annoy you. When I said "chicken is cheap" I was referring to the price of raw chicken in the stores(.79 - $1/lb) vs. raw steak, which is why I don't fix steak at home. Besides, when I have tried to fix steak at home (when it's on sale for $3.99/lb) it never tastes as good as the restaurants.

Also, I said it jokingly after the "Eat mor chikin" post, which I thought was a joke, since I asked for steak dinner sugggestions.

Actually, you suggested it first by comparing chicken being cheaper than $10-15/lb for steak. That's where I drew my conclusion that you wanted to only eat things that give the most bang for the buck.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying a steak out. Heck, I love going to a good steakhouse out because it never tastes the same as when we prepare it home. I was just trying to suggest that I wouldn't exclude chicken from a dinner choice because it's cheaper.

Hope you can find a good steak recommendation! We're trying Le Cellier for steak the first time this year so we're hoping it lives up to the hype! I want the filet mignon (my favorite, I hate tough steak ) with the cream cheese mashed potatoes. Oh, and the cheese soup of course!

Okay, now I'm hungry!

I find the restaurant board much more helpful then the budget board. I can't say what I think of the budget board and the "help" that's there right now - I'd probably get points.

I'm in the same boat as you. When I made my ADRs, I looked over all the menus, and planned on ordering the crab cakes, steak, and fondue for my meal at Wolfgang Puck. Conciedently, they are now all off the menu. I'm still keeping my ADR there, and will probably now get sushi as my entree.

To answer your OP. Go to Boma! That's perfect after a day at AK, and they serve prime rib there that is excellant.

Planet hollywood has a couple of steak options as well - and a good selection of desserts and appetizers.

Kona Cafe at the Poly has a good steak (a couple actually).

Spoodles has steak kabobs (though I have never been there so I can't comment on quality or quantity).

Shutters at Carribbean beach resort has steak (again, never been though).

Maya Grill at Corando Springs has steak (but I've heard not so great things about service).

Olivia's at Old Key West has steak (I've not had the steak but the restaurant in general is okay so I'm guessing the steak would be good).

Turf Club at Saratoga Springs.

Yacht Club Galley (at the Yacht Club).

Raglan Road at DTD.

Just to name a few
