I am staying at All STAR MUSIC from Sept 22-28 and have read alot of good posts about this resort. I have stayed at ALL STAR SPORTS and I know it is about the same but that was a long time ago. I stayed in POP last year and am just wanting any info of your experiences at Music and/or pictures. The closer it gets to my trip the longer the work day is lasting!Thanks.:3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses :3dglasses

Bump....After reading some really good reports, I just switched the Pop portion of my Xmas ressie to Music. We stayed in a refurbed room at Sports for the night we added-on to our July stay and were really impressed. Thus, the idea of a newly re-done room appealed to us. We haven't stayed at Music in nearly 2 years.

DH and I just got back on Thursday. I had booked a preferred room for the first time, and it was just perfect for us....away from the pool, quiet, but a stones throw from both the Food Court building and the pool itself. :goodvibes

The rooms were light and cheery, clean and neat the entire time. I really like the colours of the room, and the draw curtain in the sink area. The only problem (not for me, but had my early 20's daughter been with us...) was the lighting over the sink was not bright. Luckily, I don't do makeup when I'm at Disney (or many other times, either!) ;)

Everyone that we met was friendly, and eager to make our stay pleasant. :wizard: We got calls from the manager and the CM who checked us in. As we walked the grounds (as beautiful as I had remembered), CM's greeted us with enthusiasm and cheerfulness.

If you have kidlets, the happenings at the pool all day and evening would be a great way to spend a non-park day. :cool1:

All in all, this was a great trip for us. :thumbsup2 I hope yours goes well, too!

Yep, at 9PM in the Calypso Pool and if its raining they are inside the foodcourt...This is a pilot program and if you like it leave positive feedback. They have music, dancing and other games for kids and adults between 2PM-9PM

I will also be at All Star Music in Sept. I am so excited about going. :cool1: I just wish there was some kind of FAQ thread like there is for Pop.

im glad to hear such great reviews of Music-- as my family and I ( group of 7 ) will be staying there from sept 8th-16th-- we are also going with my grandparents and got the preferred rooms-- how close are the rooms to the bus stops, pool, and food court? I am just worried about them walking a very long distance. This will be our first time at Music we have been to POP the last 3 years-- but could not get is this year for a ressie with the free dinning-- but so far music sounds great:) i hope everyone has a wonderful trip!!

Music has added games and contests by the pool in the afternoon and has movies by the pool at 9 PM.

From this website:

http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=wd070618mg

As we noted on last week's MousePlanetWatch news podcast, We've gotten a couple of reports about the "something special" that we were told to keep our eyes out for at All-Star Music and Yacht & Beach Club. At All-Star Music, we've heard that folks have found karaoke sessions for dance parties near the pools, a nightly movie by the Calypso pool and in increase of staff to make it easier for guests to find assistance. ......

Music has added games and contests by the pool in the afternoon and has movies by the pool at 9 PM.

Here is a review thread about the Family Suites and it also tells about the activities and buses at All Star Music:

And a review of All Star Music from this thread:
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1551973&page=2

I've stayed at all of the All Stars as well as Pop Century, with my most recent stay being at All Stars Music. I just returned home 3 days ago. I had stayed there before for one night and didn't even look at the resort, I drove straight to my room and stayed there until it was time to leave the next day. So I decided to try it for a longer stay this time and I'm so glad I did! This is the sweetest little resort!

I liked all of them but I think this one is now my favorite and if I had kids, well, there is tons for them to do here! Every day is full of activities. When you check in they give you a sheet listing all of them for the week. It seemed that most took place at the Calypso pool. Some of them were a nightly movie, daily bingo games (cost 1.00 per card), one day I came back in the afternoon and they were line dancing at the pool, they also had nightly dance parties before the movie, one day they had karaoke, there was a jump rope contest and a treasure hunt just to name a few.

I also fell in love with the theming at this resort. Calypso definitely has a Caribbean flare to it, this section is kind of noisy because of the pool but it is closest to the main building. Jazz has a tranquil New Orleans Square feel with it's beautiful fountain and wrought iron. Broadway transports you to the streets of New York (literally, Wall Street & Broadway) and has a Central Park inspired area as well. Rock Inn is loud as far as decor goes but it's got the 50's vibe down pat. Country Fair seemed the quietest to me, it was all the way in the back of the resort and had a large, wooden fenced in area with picnic tables. Loved the giant cowgirl boots on the buildings here. Other than the Calypso area though the whole place was pretty tranquil.

For those who have kids that are easily distracted during meals, the food court here has a large tv set up in the very back of the seating area that shows cartoons that might help keep them focused while you are eating.

The newly remodeled rooms are great too! The decor is a lot less cartoony than it used to be. I love that they've added curved shower rods to the bathrooms and they also give you soap and shampoo/conditioner now, which the values never did before. That doesn't really matter to me but it does to some.

I was treated very well at this resort, I'm not going to say everyone will get this but when I got to my room there was a Mickey head towel "animal" on one of the beds for me. When I arrived back that night from the parks I had a call from the gentleman who checked me in saying that if there was anything he could do to make my stay more enjoyable to please let him know. When I came back to my room the next afternoon I had a call waiting from the manager of the resort telling me he hoped I enjoyed my stay and if I needed anything to let him know. There was also a little card on my pillow from the housekeeping staff that said a little birdie told them I was leaving and they hoped that all my dreams came true. All of that really made a good impression on me, never got anything close to that at any other resort I've stayed in, not even the deluxes. Like I said, that might not happen for everyone but it was really nice.

:)

It seems to me that All Star Music is trying harder.

----------------------------------------------------------

All Star Music is my favorite resort. It tends to be the quietest of all the values.

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

...we are also going with my grandparents and got the preferred rooms-- how close are the rooms to the bus stops, pool, and food court?

I booked preferred, too. Our rooms were on the "backside" i.e., not poolside of one of the Calypso buildings. We walked out the door, past maybe 2 rooms one way, went through the "breezeway" and we were at the pool. Going the other way, we walked past 3 family suite rooms, walked the end of the building, and then walked to the food court. It was 2 minutes and my DH walks very slow (bet your grandparents walk faster than him!). Have a FABULOUS time!

Hi jr1229,

My wife and I will be at ASMu Sept 22 thru Sept 29. We should all get together. I will be the mid 40's somewhat overweight, slightly balding guy with the fannypack, sunscreened nose and t-shirt from another tourist attraction.
I'll be eating something on a stick.....

On second thought, you'll never find me.

Hope you enjoy your time at WDW. We honeymooned there 17 years ago. This is our anniversary trip!

We will be there the 8th to the 17th. Maybe we will see you! We are a party of 12, 8 kids and 4 adults. I just got done making the kids matching shirts (6 each) today!!!! I am sooooo excited!!
WOW!! Party of 12!! We'll be there Sept 8-15 at ASMU!!:cool1:
But it will only be a little party of 2...hubby and I

12 more days !!! We are PUMPED:woohoo:

My husband and I will be there sept 18th-25! Maybe we will run into each other! Just look for the hottest people you see. That will be us. :rotfl2: Just kidding.

Thanks for the info.
I am going to call the All Star Music resort and let them know I would like this program continued.
Is there an email address where all of us who would like to see these activies continued could write to?
Also do you have any idea how much longer this program will last?

Thanks for any info you can give us.

dh and myself will be there Sept10-16 I have ra and do walk rather slow. dh says that is alright, this is a grandparents vacation. all of our kids and their wives, and all 5 of my grandkids will be staying at different places in the park. I love disney, will enjoy our days in the park, but will enjoy not having to hurry to get finished each park each day. we will see what we want and just enjoy being there. Oh yea he has said he will put me in a wheel chair if I need it, NO WAY am I doing that I will walk .I am a short overweight gray haired grandmother with a tall grey haired grandfather type.

I am glad to hear such good reviews!! We were booked for CBR during free dining but ended up downgrading to the ASMusic to save a few $$! I can't wait to check it out for myself!

I love All Star Music!! I have always had great experiences there. One thing you must do is walk around at night so you can see the "streetlights" that resemble old-timey gas lamps. For some reason I just love those!! I have stayed at most Disney resorts, and Music to me offers the absolute best value, especially during free dining!! People always say the rooms are small, but I personally think they are spacious!! When we stayed at AKL, I thought that room felt a lot smaller than an All-Star room--I think because the furniture in AKL is very large. I think you will love the resort. Yes, you can hear the toilets flush next door, but I heard that at AKL and the Poly, so at least I am paying a lot less money at ASMu for the "privilege" of hearing my neighbor flush their toilet!! ;) Have a great trip!

P.S. On our last trip to ASMu, we got towel animals/creations every single day!! Some were very elaborate. My favorite was a basket of flowers made entirely out of towels/washcloths. I have never gotten a towel animal at a moderate or a deluxe!

I called All Star Music today. I did call the All Star Music resort # which is 407-939-6000. Of course that # really goes tothe switchboard. After explaining I was coming to All Star Music in September and I had read about the pilot program and I wanted more info on the activites and movies she did switch me over to the front desk and the front desk CM switched me over to one of the mangers. Anyway I asked about the pilot program and I was informed it will only last through September but if All Star Music and YC&BC (which also have a simular program ) get enough positve feedback they may expand this this program to all of the resorts! Yeah. So anyone is going to All Star Music or BC or YC please fill out the surveys which are at the front desk. Please be honest but please fill them out.
