Why Pop over All Stars Newly Refurbished Rooms?

So I have now had a chance to review some more pictures of the value resorts. I have to admit I'm drawn the most to the Pop. Not just because of the theming but because the inside common areas seem like a bit more tranquil than the All Star resorts. Do I have the wrong impression? I also like the Lake at pop. Seams to me if you could get a Lake view it would feel more like a moderate resort.....and you don't have to pay extra for the water view, unlike the other moderate and deluxe hotels.

Sorry, but I'm afraid you may have the wrong impression. AS Sports was MUCH more tranquil than POP. At POP the food court sort of flows into the gift shop, then everyone walks through the gift shop to get to the buses, so both areas are very noisy. At AS they are side by side, but closed off from each other and you have to go out into the hall to get from the food court to the gift shop, then you go down the hallway to get to the bus, not through the gift shop. So it is not as busy. You don't have people walking through the food court, then through the gift shop to catch the buses. As far as the lake views, I've had one three different times at POP and it seems I'm always facing those spooky looking unfinished POP buildings across the lake.

Hmm, I really like POP, but if I don't stop comparing it to the AS Stars, I may talk myself out of my favorite resort. Really, both POP and As Stars are fine. As I said in my previous post, I had originally booked POP, but had to switch to AS Sports because I wasn't able to get the discount code at POP. I have no qualms because I know I'll be fine at either.

I did not find POP tranquil in any way shape or form. i hated eating in the food court with my 2 littles because it was sooooo busy. I usually found the abandomed corner to feed them so they could focus on eating. I have not been to an All Star with the kidletts nor in a long time so we will see after this trip if I feel different

I will say. My previous birthday stays at all star resorts I always got a birthday card. My stay at the POP I did not. We tend to go for my birthday often.

I guess my thoughts were that the indoor common areas at Pop were more tranquil in decor than the All Stars. But it's good to know that the layout of pop induces itself to lots of people, crowds and noise.

The truth is we want to make this trip as budget friendly as possible. So we will book with the resort that offers us the best deal (hopefully using a code). Does Pop ever have any discounts? From what I've read it doesn't seem like there are typically as many for Pop as for the All Stars. If you had to choose between All Star Music and All Star Sports which would you pick?

I'm thinking we'll book Pop but will move if there is no discount available at Pop but there is at another value.
