I just saw the new updated menu on this site and they had all the sushi as an entree . I hope it changes back after the free dining period.

I am in a bad nightmare! More and more DDP resturants are slashing thier menus. I can't take it anymore! :sad2:

What I find more interesting, though, is that the cheese selection is listed as an entree.

Welcome to free dining.

I am starting to feel the pain too. I am trying to keep a good atitude, but I have a feeling this is only the beginning. A vacation on an island is starting to sound better and cheaper. I keep thinking I am spending at least 5000 bucks and the value of the trip is getting lower and lower each day. A friend of mine said if you can afford Disney you can afford a trip to Paris, maybe he is right.

I was on free dining last year and followed the boards. I did have steak selections last year. This IMO has nothing to do with free dining , THe Spoodles menu has also been dumbed back.
Disney is gearing up maybe early for the 2008 changes. It will save them even more money. They are smart to do it now as it will be less obvious to guests in January. Some think the menus will change back! I didn't see this last year and I have follwed th menus from last year as I printed them.
Just another cost saving :teacher:

This particular change affects only those on the dining plan. All the sushi is still on the menu, the prices look about the same, but if you are on the dining plan it's an entree.

There is a rumor (unconfirmed) in another thread that Narcoosee's lobster is being removed from the dining plan selections.

We cruise now as a family rather than take a long trip to Disney. As much as I love the mouse our family vacation dollars are better spent at an all-inclusive where it is capacity controlled--such as a cruise ship--where food is included. We still get to Disney but its for shorter trips.

I also enjoy cruises !

I don't see where the CA Grill thing is confirmed (the cheese being included as an entree confuses me) and the Narcoosees bit is definitely a rumor at this point. Why freak out now?

The new menu is on this site dated 8/07

That doesn't make it correct. A cheese plate is not an entree. And it wasn't that expensive. How is that a cost cutting measure?

They've got appetizers that are much more expensive than that cheese, or a couple of the sushi selections.

I will go in a week and a half and see what the restaurant says...

I understand your confusion. Why would a cheese sampler raise in price and be considered dinner?

These changes are quite frightening for those who have the new 2008 DDP with dropped and app. and no tip. We do save a $1 though.

No aiming any negativity twords you good people in my venting. I'm just not happy with Disney's decision. I feel like I'm being handed my hat.

It wasn't raised in price, just moved to the entree section. If you were paying OOP you'd still get cheese for $15 if you wanted it. But if you're DDP and want cheese, apparently you need to spend a 2 credit entree for it. Nobody's going to do that. And it doesn't cost so much, why do they want to keep DDP away from the cheese? Weird :sad2: But not frightening. There are plenty of other things I'd order.

Can't wait to see what they say when I get there!

Maybe I should read this:

Priceless! :rotfl: But just to let you know, the five cheese selection is $16 now.

Anyone experience this first hand?:confused3 Because I ate there in June on the DDP and sushi was an appetizer. We weren't advised of any restrictions by the wait staff. I'll be there again on 9/2 so I'd like to know...

They did this same thing last year during free dining and then changed it back when it was over.

Very good to hear. I don't want to waste an entree on sushi. My DW and I would love to have it as an app. Hopefully this stays true to form.
:thumbsup2

Not true! I was there last year . Got a steak at Spoodles and it never came back on the menu. Same thing with an item in France .....

It really is pathetic, because CG counts as 2 TS services. A $20 entree should be a 1 TS meal.
