As you all know, my dad is a firefighter. About 7 o'clock tonight, a large fire broke out a a sofa store, and by 8 o'clock, the store had collapsed. The fire is still blazing, and my father went to go check it out. He came back around 9, and said things weren't looking good. He's home for the night. We were watching the news, and one of his friends- who is at the scene said that anywhere between 5 and 9 of his and my dad's fellow fireman are trapped inside, and several have been found dead. I get updated in about 20 minutes, or unless my dad's friend calls back. This is horrible, and a lot of those fireman had kids. :sad2: I just hlpe everyone else is okay. Its also been rumoured that a store employee was trapped and killed inside.

I just want to thank all the brave fireman who are out there, risking their lives for others, and I hope that everyone can come home to their families.

The mayor, who is at the scene, isn't letting any information out yet. Hopefully we get updated soon, but my dad thinks a few of the missing ones are some of his best friends. :sad2:

That's awful

Those fireman and their family's will be in my prayers tonight.

I hope the rest of the fireman are alright.

I'm so sorry.
Prayers and pixie dust for the firefighters and their families

   Oh man, oh man! I cannot believe that! I hate when stuff like that happens, and I hope that the families will be ok... That is so sad!:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

I don't want to sound selfish- but I'm just so glad that my dad is safe at home.. =/ I just hope that everyone else can say the same. I didn't get any pictures, (we went down there) because the roads are closed, and you can't see anything. When some are released, I'll post them. The fire could be seen for miles, and the smoke a few districts.

I almost cried while reading that. My cousin is a volunteer firefighter and I know some other people who are. They are great people who risk their lives to save others. I'm so sorry, I couldn't imagine how horrible that must be. I must say my heart go's out to everyone involved, especially the children and families of the missing firefighters. Prayers and Pixie Dust Jessie. I'm awfully glad your dad is ok.

The wives of the firefighters were at the scene, watching their husbands walk into the fire, and not coming out. Oh god, seeing that... That makes anyone break down. UPDATE SOON.

6 dead so far..
Multiple missing..

One of the firefighters was about to get out of the building, when he saw another guy stuck, and the stuck guy said "Tell my wife I will always love her" and then the building collapsed on him.
