Hmmmmmmm
Heather's away?

Do we need to get our muck shoes out??
Or Karoke??

How much time do we have???:lmao:

Hey !

Wouldn't it be funny if Ladle dropped in, read the report, and added her version of events? :lmao: I'd love to hear her description of the dreaded "texting" meal.

Oh my. I don't think I've ever seen so many smilies and pictures in one place at one time!

Woops...my bad...

So, yu are from New Mexico, but you go to school in Chicago? Is that right?

You got it, except that now I'm back in New Mexico for good. I'm going to finish my degree here.

Have Fun Heather...

Maybe I'll hint at her about it...:rotfl:

Welcome Back Heather....that was quick!!!

:dance3:

Can't wait for more... I love hearing about families, even though mine is so much worse!

Glad your back!

And here I was trying not to post anything because I thought you were going to be gone for a while!

After our tasty lunch at the POP food court, we went back to the room to rest and to shower all the chlorine off.

You know I can't tell about my day without some sort of aside note, so here it is... Coming from New Mexico, the humidity in Florida is just absolutely out of control. Someone, such as myself, with thick, wavy hair, has great potential for disastrous hair! It's actually a little embarrassing how long it was taking me to shower, shave my legs(because we all know shorts are a must in summer in Florida!), blow dry my hair and straighten it.:scared: It probably sounds vein to do all that on vacation, but if I were to shower and stick my hair up everyday it would NOT be a pretty sight! You just have to trust me on that one! I should mention that Ladle and I did something with stupid written all over it. We got our hair cut right before vacation..... with bangs! New bangs when I haven't had bangs in many, many years. :sad2: Luckily this did not end up being the disaster I had thought it might be. What it comes down to is that I feel better knowing that I at least TRIED to look decent.

Moving right along... We had quite the feast planned for this evening. We were going to eat our way across the world... literally! Our plan was to start in Mexico and eat at La Cantina de San Angel. Next up would be a stop in Japan at Yakatori House, which is still open despite the dining room being closed, and end in United Kingdom for some fish and chips. (How do you like that one, Jo?;) )

So earlier that day we had noticed the cloud cover and were worried about rain at BB. It looked a little better this evening, but not much... We bussed over to EPCOT and headed over to Mexico. We decided to head in and ride the new Mexico ride- Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros. I used to love watching them when I was younger. It wasn't quite Ladle's generation, but she at least had seen them before. I loved it. Let me tell you the best improvement- no more freaky, creepy, may pole, carousel at the end anymore. That thing used to seriously freak me out. There was one guy on there with a button nose, one had like a round peg for a nose, one time I went and one was missing an eye.... I'm sorry, but that is not Disney at its best! Anyway, they replaced that with a stage for the Three Caballeros to perform and it is just so much better. The other great thing is that they didn't change the atmosphere any, so you still go around the pyramid and everything before the story starts. Great improvement if I do say so myself!
I took an evening shot of the Three Caballeros topiary. Not a great picture or anything, but you get the idea...

It was getting kind of close to IROE time, well, a couple hours anyway, so we were worried about finding a place to sit and eat. We sent Garco to find a table nearby and he was very successful in finding one under an umbrella right by the cantina. Sally, Ladle and I got in line to order. It wasn't a huge line, but it did appear a little daunting. We ordered the Cantina Nachos, the Tacos al Carbon, and guacamole to share. We finally got our order and start walking to the table Garco's saving and it starts to rain. Luckily we don't have to go far because it started to pour. Thank goodness we had our table under the umbrella. We stayed relatively dry while we ate. The nachos were great with cheese, black beans, sour cream, and tomatoes. All the toppings were separated so you could easily grab the chips which aren't all soggy with toppings and take as much of each as you wanted. The tacos were great with shredded beef that was flavored very well. The guacamole was just so-so, but I'm really picky about guac. We were very pleased. We sat there under the umbrella for a long time because it poured. We had our bright yellow Disney panchos, but in rain that heavy, they wouldn't have done a heck of a lot of good.
Here's a rainy Japan picture...

The rain slowed and then seemed to stop. We watched as some people took unused garbage bags from a trash can and ripped holes in them for their panchos. I think one of them stayed inside without a head hole for a little too long.... Anyway, we debated whether or not we wanted to continue on our eating fest because it was still quite cloudy out. We decided to head to Japan and see how that went.

We made it to Japan without any rain and Garco found us a table inside the busy little place. We each got a garden salad with ginger dressing, which is something we usually get when we eat in the Teppanyaki Dining Room which was closed! Garco and I split a sushi plate which was yum! Ladle and Sally split a teriyaki chicken plate with steamed rice. I definitely stole some of the steamed rice because I love it so. Ladle also had some iced green tea which she said was very good. We liked everything we had there. It was a Japanese food fix for us since we couldn't eat in the Teppanyaki Dining Room. The only problem was that we were now full.:sad2: Basically, that meant fish and chips were out (sorry, Jo!).

Rain can sometimes be a good thing. We were planning on leaving, but it was EMH that night, so we went ahead and got a wrist band just in case. We walked around WS headed around toward the Canada end and IROE was starting. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's a lovely show, but I hate hate HATE standing around and getting pushed out of my spot that I've been waiting in for two hours, etc. I have all the complaints that I'm sure everyone else has so I'll spare you. Anyway, this night we probably could have gotten a premo spot because the rain had really, really emptied the park out. We watched for a few minutes and then we had a thought...

We walked over to the Land Pavillion. Score! Soarin' line was almost non-existent! I'd say we waited about 15-20 minutes and that includes the time we walked into the Pavillion to the time we actually sat in the seat. We ended up in row 3 which is the lowest row when the ride takes off. We weren't too pleased about that, but it was okay. Every seat in Soarin' is a good seat, but we just happen to like row 1 better. When we exited the ride, the place was filling up again as IROE was over. We were happy to have gotten the ride in with such a short wait, so we headed toward the exit. What's a great ride to the end the day with? Spaceship Earth of course! If that doesn't make you read for bed, I don't know what will. I'm not ragging on SE. I love the ride, but it's just so relaxing...

After our "trip aboard spaceship earth", we were about ready to call it a day. The buses were a little rough tonight since it was EMH and people were getting tired too. I think we caught the second bus that came though so not too bad at all.

Up next... Who is Sally Shine?

Good pics Heather! I'm picky about my guac too! You know...we have the best Mexican food around right here in our state!

Great installment! We plan on eating our way around the world too. Only fish & chips is our top goal so no way will we be too full for that. We're stopping there first to make sure we don't miscalculate our stomach sizes. The very first episode of Good Eats we ever saw was fish & chips and we were hooked. I'm to scared to try and make it myself though, I know it would end up too greasy. Those nachos sound great! I love that everything is separated. My family is picky about what goes on pizza AND nachos (it seems like there aren't two of us who like the exact same things). SE screwed up my body last time so I'm glad they made the chicken side that I can take DD on next time. I don't think kids six and under should ride that side, the kids that have died were so young that I think maybe their doctors could have found the heart defects if they had a few more years of office visits under their belts.

Heather, I love the pic of a rainy Japan. I can't wait to eat our way aroung the world....but, the mexican food has to come from home!!!! Sounds like you guys had a great time...even with the rain!!!

Our goal was to make sure we got to eat in Japan, so at least we made it there. Ladle doesn't like fish at all, so that's why it was okay to miss the fish and chips this time.
Are you thinking of Mission: Space that screwed up your body? I bet you are actually. I was talking about the golfball ride. I get those mixed up a lot! I totally agree with you on not having the young kids go on M: S. Garco has high blood pressure and definitely doesn't get on that one!

I'm glad you still had a good time despite the

It ended up better than we expected with being able to ride Soarin' with little wait!

:lmao: I know. No one makes Mexican food like we do on this side of the country, huh??? We just think it tastes good, not spicy or anything, just tasty. I love WS food!

Oh you braggers! I've never tasted the Mexican food from New Mexico but I did fall in love with a Mexican restaurant in Ft. Myers, FL. It was totally awesome. If anyone is ever planning to go to Ft Myers and you like Mexican, you need to visit La Casita!

United Kingdom for some fish and chips. (How do you like that one, Jo?;) )
I've never had them from Epcot but I will this trip with the DP :thumbsup2

Basically, that meant fish and chips were out (sorry, Jo!).
What  I can't believe you were too full ;) :rotfl2: Don't worry you're forgiven!!!!!

Great day Heather, I hate that you have to find your spot so ridiculously early too, although we did wait last trip whilst eating a funnel cake

I'm to scared to try and make it myself though, I know it would end up too greasy.
Over here we have battered cod and chip shop chips in our freezer section and although they're not as good they're still pretty yummy have a look you never know, we're getting all your stuff it's only fair you get ours :rotfl2:

Mmm... Funnel cake!
Do you put some sort of vinegar stuff on your fish and chips?

Sorry about that. Yes, I meant Mission Space. I will never ride the spinning version again. I was so glad that they made the chicken side so I can take DD on it.
