Resort Channel 96 - All Classic Disney!

We just returned from a trip to Coronado Springs. On the last night of our 9-night stay, we hired the services of Kid's Night Out. The sitter showed us something I have never read here on these boards (something I thought impossible). Although the resort remotes are not programmed to include Channel 96 when channel surfing, by inputting the number 96 on your remote keypad, you get the Disney movie station that plays in all the hotel lobbies! She said she finds it does not work at all resorts, but it certainly worked at Coronado - my 3-year old son called it "my new Disney channel."

That is great news. Maybe we should keep this thread alive with info on which resorts do have this?

Thanks, ffugitive.

Get outta town! That's awesome!

I've always wondered why they don't have Disney movies running continuously but I guess they do-it's just hidden. :)

Beach Club Resort has Channel 96! We were there in Nov and it played all the time in our room!:happytv:

Channel 96 has been the best part of my son's frequent visits to Disney World since he discovered it at the age of three. (That was four years ago!) If we are staying at a Disney Resort that offers channel 96 he turns it on as soon as he enters the room and it doesn't go off until we leave.

As the OP stated it is not offered at all resorts-such a bummer. We usually stay at Ft Wilderness in the cabins and it is on there. I wish all the resorts would carry it!

The line-up does not change (a bunch of classic cartoons and a Disney song-a-long song on a loop.) This was a hoot- the last time I visited The World I was with my 20 year old niece. As a child she used to watch the Disney sing-a-long song videos and the one she loved most is the one that is shown on channel 96. When it came on she got the biggest smile on her face and she said, "Oh my gosh-I loved this when I was little!!!!" I loved that and got such a rush of happiness.

Channel 96 rocks!!!

We love the Old Disney Cartoon Loop channel. We play it continuously while we are there..

The line up does change, but it doesn't change often. If you've watched the channel over the years, you will notice they have added a sing a long (very long) segment, and removed some cartoons like the one with Pluto and the seals. I don't know if they update it once a year, but it doesn't seem like it's any more often than that. It runs on about a two hour loop, so if there's a cartoon your kids (or you) particularly enjoy, take note of the time it shows. It should show up again in about two hours.

One resort I know that doesn't have it is Pop Century. We watch this channel all the time when we are at Coronado Springs, but when we stayed at Pop Century a couple of times, it wouldn't work.:confused3

It didn't work for us at Pop, either. I'm hoping to get this channel at POR this year.

Maybe it's the values it doesn't work at? We are staying at Coronado, so I'm glad they have it!!:woohoo:

We first took notice of channel 96 about 4 years ago (I could be wrong it seems like it has been that long)-the loop of cartoons remained the same for all that time. I think the new rotation of cartoons and the Sing-along-song started sometime last year. I miss Lambert. DH, DS and myself find ourselves singing "Lambert the sheepish lion..."

I love that Steamboat Willie has been added to the loop-I wish they would add Plane Crazy too!
