Dream a dream....KMAB00's DW Honeymoon TR: Completed!

Still on Sunday, April 8, 2007 - Epcot

After we finished eating, I wanted to hit a few rides that did not have long lines. We went out to the electronic board that has rides and line times posted on it....and the line for Mission Space was apparently only 30 minutes whereas the line for Soarin was like 90 minutes. We opted for Mission Space since neither of us has ridden that ride before.

We headed towards the ride and once we got there, we were given the option to ride the "chicken side" or the "extreme side". At first, we got the orange tickets...which means EXTREME. But after thinking about it, we both decided to be chicken and ride the less intense side. I had just eaten and I get motion sickness very very bad!! I didn't want to be sick for the rest of the night!!! The "less intenese" part of Mission Space was not very thrilling. ((We did ride the extreme part on another day)). But we didn't have to stand in line for long so it was ok!!

An old favorite of mine that I remember from when I was little is this ride:

hm15.jpg

Anyone guess which ride it is? :rotfl: Spaceship Earth!!!!

We also explored the Living Seas...the new Nemo ride is cute and so is Turtle Talk with Crush!

hm16.jpg

hm17.jpg

Finally it was time for supper!! The Coral Reef was apparently VERY busy and the wait time (even though we had Advanced Dining Reservations for 7:30 p.m.) was about 30 minutes!!! I had on our itenerary to watch Illuminations at 9:00 p.m., so when they told me the wait time, I KNEW we would miss the fireworks. There was not another day to really fit Illuminations in to, but I knew we HAD to....so I made it work.

:tinker: Anwyay, when we FINALLY got to sit down, we were seated right by the Aquarium!!! Awesome seats! :)

:tinker: We also received Personalized Menus!!

hm28.jpg

hm29.jpg

hm30.jpg

hm31.jpg

The BEST part of the menus was.....WE COULD ORDER ANYTHING WE WANTED WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT THE PRICE!!! Hehe!

Jason had the Shrimp Coctail as an appetizer:

hm19.jpg

While I had Crab Claws:

hm20.jpg

For an entree, Jason chose the New York Strip Steak:

hm21.jpg

While I chose the Mahi Mahi:

hm22.jpg

For dessert, Jason had the choclate wave: (those little balls of chocolate had alcohol in them!! Jason sure got a surprise when he bit into it b/c neither of us had ANY idea!!) :confused3

hm24.jpg

I had Cream Brulee:

hm25.jpg

Like I said, we were seated by the aquarium

hm23.jpg

And I was right, we did miss Illuminations. Our watier was SO SLOW!!! We didn't leave the restaurant until about 9:30 p.m. Jason loved eating there but I personally wouldn't care if we didn't eat there ever again. I didn't hate it, but I certianly didn't love it. The food was good...but the service was slow. The guy didn't hear me say that we were on the dining plan, so he charged our room at first....so we had to get that straightend out. Our bill was $112.00!! If it was gonna be covered by the dining plan (which it was), I certianly didn't want it to be charged to our card!!! :scared1:

Anyway, when we left the restaurant, we hit the "post-illuminations" crowd. It was HORRIBLE trying to get out of the park and I was really sad that we had missed the show.

We made it back to the hotel and my luggage had arrived (I was kinda scared at first because before we left for Epcot, Jason's luggage had arrived but mine had not yet come!).

I "decorated" the room a little...

hm26.jpg

hm27.jpg

And of course, I added a lime green Mickey to the window!! :thumbsup2

That's all for Sunday!!

Coming up: Monday - Animal Kingdom!

Karen that food looks so yummy whether it tasted it or not. Im hungry now popcorn:: . I like the dining plan because you can order higher end items and get to try stuff you normally wouldnt get to. :woohoo: But i also like food- so that kinda sums it up for me! Did you keep your personalized menu's ? I would have-- would make for great scrapbooking (and memories!). You & Jason look so happy in the photo together-- did you ask a stranger to take it? haha-- seems like everyone is so understanding at WDW.

Okay I just showed Dh your pictures and the food photos and said "can we go back" and he said "whatever you want"-- does this mean I get to go back to WDW soon:woohoo:

I love your door decorations-- so cute! I would so hang that on my door at home! haha-- keep it coming Karen im loving this:woohoo:

You two look so cute and happy together! You can tell you're so in love  I like your little door hanger too!! I can't wait for more popcorn::

Congratulations! I'm so looking forward to reading your whole trip report. DF and I will be staying at POR for our Disneymoon and are also on the dining plan. I'm so glad to hear its worth it! :)

Congrats!!! :cheer2: and welcome back!! I love that you have tons of pictures in here!! I am quite guilty of taking way too many pictures myself... hahah...

Glad to hear that you loved the dining plan. We are doing it for the first time during our trip this fall and I'm getting pretty excited about. It seems sooo convenient.

LOVE the door hanger you made! It's so cute! And how cool is your personalized menu??!?

Looks like you guys had a great time, I can't wait to read more :)

Maggimus - To answer your question from earlier...yes, POR is the old Dixie Landings. I have wanted to stay there FOREVER so I am glad I finally got the chance!!! :) I definitely kept the menus. I acutually took the pictures of the menu right before I posted the blog b/c I had forgotten to take them in Disney!! :haha: The person that took the picture was our waiter. However, all week, when we would try to take a picture of each other in front of something, a random stranger would offer to take a picture of both of us together!! It was very nice! :) I do have that door hanger hanging on my bedroom door right now........I'm such a dork! :rotfl:

JJClemson - Thank you!! I saw that someone else here had door hangers made for their wedding party at DW. I decided that since I didn't have an entire wedding party to make them for, I'd make one for myself!! :)

Pirate Kitty - You will LOVE POR AND the Dining Plan!! They are both wonderful!!! :)

Jackie Sparrow - Thanks!! The doorhanger was fun to make!! :)

Monday, April 9, 2007 - Animal Kingdom

The following morning, we woke up an headed to Animal Kingdom. It was my goal to make it to at least 1 park opening that week. This definitely was not the day! Haha

As we were approaching the gates, I stepped over to take a picture of Jason in front of the AK sign when this random guy asked if we wanted our picture taken together.

hm32.jpg

Inside the gates, I finally saw my first photo pass guy! It was originally my intention to schedule a Honeymoon Photo Shoot....however, I really didn't think that paying $300 whatever dollars for 20 pictures was really worth it all. And that's when I heard about photo pass. So I decided to go with that option!! :) I haven't gotten my CD back yet, so those pictures will have to wait for another time and place, I guess!

hm33.jpg

Once inside park, we saw more photo pass people and stopped to take pictures. I stopped at every guy/girl I saw just about! :rotfl:

hm37.jpg

We decided to get FP's for Expedition Everest and then head over to Dinosaur. The wait time wasn't too bad...may 15 minutes max. There were a lot of people in AK this day, but it was kinda rainy and cold so I think that the weather kinda drew people away. Which was fine with me!!!

hm34.jpg

We should have bought the ride picture, but we didn't! Oh well.

About the time we finished riding Everest, we saw that the next showing of Finding Nemo the Musical was at 11:30. So we headed over about 30 minutes before show time. The place was PACKED OUT but we did get a seat on the bleachers way up in the back. Well after about 20 minutes, the CM announced that the show was cancelled for that time slot. GREAT. So now we got to battle the MILLIONS and THOUSANDS of people POURING out of the theatre. It wasn't really that many people but it sure felt like it!!! :scared1:

A few other things we sqeezed in before lunch:

hm36.jpg

Flights of Wonder

hm35.jpg

It's Tough to Be a Bug

After It's Tough to Be a Bug, we decided to get Fast Passes for Kilimanjaro Safari and the eat lunch.

We looked at all of the food options covered by the dining plan and we came across this wonderful little place called "Tusker House". We were looking for something different from the typical Burgers and fries and boy did we ever find it!!!! This was the PERFECT place for lunch! I didn't feel guilty for eating this food!

hm38.jpg

I had this turkey roll up thing with AWESOME tomatoes and cucumbers!!! It also included corn and potato soup with carrot cake for dessert....SO GOOD!!

hm39.jpg

Jason had grilled chicken with mashed potatos and vegetables and also carrot cake for dessert.

This place was SO NICE to eat at, that I would have considered going back another day to AK just to eat lunch!! HAHA! But then we decided that was too time consuming! However, next time I'm in AK, I am so eating at Tusker House!!!!

Once we finished eating, (and while waiting for our KS FP time), we headed over to Camp Minnie Mickey to watch Festival of the Lion King.

Here again, a Cast Member asked if we wanted a picture together....

hm40.jpg

This spot was our first encounter with "THE BLUE SHIRTS"...........I had told Jason at the beginning of the week that I wanted to see some Dream Teamers. Well he thought I meant the kids from church (b/c we have a puppet/drama kids team at church that I am a leader on and they are called the DREAM Team!)!! :rotfl: He said, "WHY Do you want to see them!?!?" :confused3 I had to explain....the Disney Dream Team...LOL! Right after we finished taking that picture, I said, "Look! There's two of them!" Sure enough, walking down the path were two DTers. They told us Congratulations but didn't stop to talk.....so we continued our journey to Lion King.

:tink: The ladies at the gate were SO very nice! They put us in this "special" line but I had no idea why! Well, we were in the line to be the FIRST people inside the stadium along with the wheelchaiers. Well, the CM at the door pointed us to the "first row" to sit down. However, the group ahead of us was rather large and they had a family member who was in a wheelchair so they sat down on the front row. I just felt priviledged enough to have "first pick" of the seats, so Jason and I just sat down on the second row. We were both kind of in awe and thought, wow we got really good seats....when this CM ACROSS the building started waving frantically at us. She even sent another CM to come and get us!!!! She said, "I saved you guys a front row seat!!" I was like, "US?" I guess she saw us as we walked in? But it was AWESOME anyway!!!

:tink: Then, when the show started, as they were breaking the stadium up into four sections....lions, warthogs, zebras, and elephants, the guy who was in charge of our section chose ME to be the ELEPHANT LEADER! Haha! He made me stand up with him and then he introduced me to the crowd as "Karen from Louisiana" then he had me make an elephant noise. OK YEAH....I had NO idea what kind of sound to make.....I so didn't make a very good noise but it was HILARIOUS and fun and I was just excited that I got picked!!!!! :cool1: After I made the elephant noise, the guy said, "Well ladies and gentleman, I can assure you that you probably will never hear an elephant make that kind of noise EVER!" :rotfl:

The show was AWESOME watching it from the front row! Jason took a picture of him and I on our "front row seats"...lol!

hm41.jpg

After we left Lion King, it was Fast Pass time for the Safari so we headed over there. As we were waiting in line, a Cast Member who saw us with our hats on waved us over to him. He picked up a phone and said there was a "special message" waiting for us! It was Mickey and Minnie wishing us a Happy Honeymoon! It was SO cute!!!

hm42.jpg

All day long, it had been raining off and on, but it was always raining while we were inside of an attraction and then the rain would stop by the time we were done. Well after we got out of the Safari, it was raining pretty hard so I bought a poncho!

hm43.jpg

The last show time for Finding Nemo was 3:30 p.m. so we hurried over to find a good seat. Which we did get pretty good seats b/c we were there earlier than the time before! Apparently, they were only doing like 4 showtimes that day. We had missed the very 1st one, then the 2nd one was cancelled, we TRIED to get in line for the 3rd showing, but the line was MASSIVE and we knew we wouldn't get seats....so we finally made it for the 4th and final showing!!

hm44.jpg

After the show, we used a few snack credits for some Ice Cream!!

hm45.jpg

hm46.jpg

Then that night, we had Advanced Dining Reservations for Crystal Palace so after eating our Ice Cream, we boarded the bus for the Ticket and Transportation Center. It was on our way there that Jason came to the conclusion that "People really are generally good!" And it's true! Not only were CM's congratulating us, but so were random guests at the park! Also these random strangers would OFFER to take a picture of Jason and I together!! It was GREAT!!

Coming up next: MK and Crystal Palace!!!

Karen Im so loving this TR. Arent you so glad you chose disney? The same thing happened with us-- people yelling congratulations from every corner. Even when we didnt wear the ears and only wore the pins we still got tons of Congrats. You guys surely had a magical experience.

At the AK ive never ate at the Tusker House but I have ate at Pizzafari and their Italian sandwiches there are to die for! You might consider trying one out next time your there. Although-- you will probobly be like me and go back to what you know is good. I love doing that.

Dh and I really liked Nemo the Musical although I think we might have sat a little bit too close. Did you guys like it?

Keep this great report coming!!:cheer2:

hey - welcome back!!! I'm having a ball reading your TR!! and listen, you can NEVER EVER take too many pictures!!:rotfl: I'm as guilty as you - last time I came home with more pictures of the food than us!

so great to see how happy and relaxed you guys look - and POR is a wonderful place - I stayed there like 10 years ago and it sounds like it just gets better...as for the dining plan , beautiful thing, isn't it?! my DF and I are going for a short hop in June and that was a must!

many , many congrats on your marriage - looking forward to more of your report....with photos, of course! :goodvibes

Still on Monday, April 9, 2007

It took us forver to figure out how to get to Magic Kingdom from the Animal Kingdom. That's when we finally realized that we had to take a bus to the ticket and transportation center THEN hop a Monorail to the Magic Kindgom.

hm47.jpg

hm48.jpg

This was my first time to see the "new" monorail. It scared me at first because I thought it was just a bunch of grafiti. I wondered "How in the world did someone GRAFITI THE MONORAIL and in DISNEY?!!????" :rotfl: That's when I realized that it was just "dressed up" for the Year of a Million Dreams!!!

hm49.jpg

(not the best pic but it shows what I am talking about!)

hm50.jpg

Jason on the Monorail

hm51.jpg

Me on the monorail!

hm52.jpg

"Where Dreams Come True" was literally everywhere and I LOVED IT!!!!

hm53.jpg

I asked a nice man to take our picture...he did a good job! :)

They even decorated the lamposts down main street....

hm54.jpg

That guy did do a really good job! It would be a nearly perfect photo if you cropped out the lady on the left! I never get that good of photos when I ask ppl to take them!

I laughed at your comment about the monorail! I noticed it too and was like "hmm- thats odd" but then read it! Cant wait for more:banana:

ETA: I dont think ive ever taken a photo right there in the front of the MK in front of the train station. Now seeing that I really wish I had. Ill jot it down for my next trip. Im always to anxious to get in there and get started with everything sometimes I forget mainstreet all together!!

Cont...

Our main purpose for heading over to Magic Kingdom that night was to eat at Crystal Palace, a family tradition of mine!!

hm55.jpg

:tink: We walked in to our table and "decorating" our table was some Mickey mouse confetti shaped into a heart!! So very cute! :)

hm56.jpg

Eeyore

hm57.jpg

Piglet

hm58.jpg

Pooh

hm60.jpg

Tigger

hm61.jpg

I forgot to take a picture of the food and since it's a buffet, that's kind of a hard thing to do!! So I got the best one that I could...lol! Can't remember AT ALL what we ate there, though!! :rotfl:

hm59.jpg

After we finished eating, we decided to hit up the Tomorrowland rides. You know what really disappointed me? The new Stitch ride...AKA ALIEN ENCOUNTER! I thought it would be similar to AE but it wasn't AT ALL!!

Anyway, since it was night time, the lines were very short and we basically completed all of Tomorrowland except Carousel of Progress!

:tink: Neither of us had ever seen Laugh Floor Comedy Club. When we walked in the door, this guy was working the counter and I thought, "Well gosh he looks familiar". So I pointed at the guy and asked Jason if that was the guy from the airport. Jason said, "No that guy at the airport said that he worked Buzz!" Well, the CM saw me pointing at him and he shook his head like, "I'm not sure who you are!" Then next thing I knew, the CM was walking over to us and he said, "Oooh yes you ARE the people I saw at the airport!" and he told us that he not only works Buzz but he also does Laugh Floor and Stitch as well! He asked us if we would have another day at MK and we told him yes....then he proceeded to give us FOUR anytime fastpasses for any ride!!!  We were shocked and excited all at the same time!!!!!

hm74.jpg

YAY for free fastpasses!!!!

After we finished Tomorrowland, we headed over to find a spot to watch Spectromagic.

hm63.jpg

Jason had never seen it before. He kept telling me, "I hate parades!" I had to reassure him that you've never seen a parade until you've seen a DISNEY parade!!!

hm64.jpg

hm65.jpg

He agreed with me that it was the best parade he had ever seen!

hm66.jpg

hm67.jpg

Some of the pictures didn't take right but that's ok!

hm68.jpg

After the parade, we watched the fireworks but we couldn't make it back in front of the castle in enough time so we were kind of standing in-between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. I KNEW that this was NOT the spot to watch Wishes from, so I decided that on our last night in MK, we'd watch them again except from IN FRONT of the Castle!!

hm71.jpg

The were still pretty, though!!

For our trip, I had printed "Mousekeeping" envelopes from themouseforless.com like this one....

hm70.jpg

:tink: I left the envelope on our pillow that morning and when we returned to our room that night, we had this waiting on the counter in our bathroom!!

hm72.jpg

That's all for Monday. Next up....Rainy day at MGM!

:rotfl: I couldn't fit all of those pictures into one post so I had to split it up!! Sorry Maggimus!!! :) :) :)
