Quick and Easy Appetizers & Snacks

Oh my, I am getting hungry! I am going to have to make a grocery list with all of these recipes on it. I better get stocked up on cream cheese! :goodvibes

I'm going to bump this back up as it is getting closer to New Years. I know lots of us like to try to have some finger food on hand for Christmas visitors also.

chipped beef roll-ups
1 pouch of dry chipped beef
1 8oz cream cheese
1 tsp (or to taste) horseradish
1-2 dash worstershire
10 green olives chopped

Let cream cheese come to room temp. Mix last 5 ingredients until well mixed. Take pieces of chipped beef and put mixture onto beef and roll up beef around cheese mixture. You can put toothpicks in each if desired.
yummy!

Does anyone have a recipe for a Mexican Seven Layer Dip that is served warm? We remember having a gooey one that was delicious once.

this one we love......a strawberry dip

one tub of marshmellow fluff (found near the peanut butter and jelly)
one brick of philly cream cheese

whole strawberries

.......mix the fluff and the cream cheese good and dip the strawberries in and enjoy!!!

vicki
We love this one too!! The only difference is we add 1 T of lemon juice. We add food coloring to match the season, decor...whatever! My DDs love pink and lavender.

We call them mini pizza bagels

Brown a package of bacon & crumble
Mix bacon with shredded white cheddar cheese and mayonaise(enough to get everything to stick)
You can add sliced black olives too(i do some with & some wthout)
Slice mini bagels in half and place flat side up
Spread mixture on top
Bake at 350 till the cheese is melted & starts to brown

I can't make them fast enough.

I think the 1 on the first page of this thread is served cold- but I think I made it warm once- I just kept tomatoes, guacamole and sour cream off to the side and added them cold at the end. Also we did the sour cream layer differently- we actually added 1 pack of taco seasoning to 8 oz of sour cream and mixed it together, it is yummy.

I have one that is not 7 layers...

in a pie plate
spread one block of cream sheese, softened
pour salsa over to cover
add one can of Hormel, no bean, Chili
top with shredded cheddar

bake at 350 approx 20 mins or until cheese is melted and bubbling.

For New Years day last year we had a "game day" pizza party... use whatever kind of baked crust you'd like for these

A BLT pizza, spread a little mayo on the crust, top with bacon, lettuce, tomato and cheese

A BBQ chicken pizza, spread a little BBQ sauce on the crust and top with shredded, cooked chicken, diced onion and plenty of mozzarella cheese, place back in oven just long enough to melt the cheese and heat the sauce

A Garden Ranch pizza, (from pampered chef) spread a ranch mix on the crust, top with fresh chopped broccoli, red pepper, carrots, and tomato

A ham and swiss, top crust with brown mustard, deli ham and shaved swiss, place in the oven to warm and melt the cheese

We've done various others, anything that you think might make a good combo or a good snadwich.

Many years ago, I had a recipe that calls for cooked chicken meat, pepperjack cheese and? ??. It was really easy, sort of like mix all in food prcessor, spread on open pita bread, freeze until needed then bake until cheese bubbles, cut into pieces and serve. Does anyone have somthing similar that can provide the missing ingredients?

Thanks

Sue

I didn't read all the posts so forgive me if this is a repeat...

My all time favorite quick and easy appetizer is sweet and sour meatballs.

Put equal parts ketchup and grape jelly in a crockpot. How much you use will depend on the size of the crockpot and how many meatballs you have. Throw in the small frozen italian meatballs (you can make them if you want, the store kind is just fine). Be sure the sauce is enough to cover the meatballs. Put on low for several hours. Serve.

Great leftover too...I serve them on egg noodles. My boys and dh love them!

Sausage balls (post #67) - freeze before cooking. You could bake then freeze, but it's better to freeze, then bake. Dip recipes (post #57 or #73) you could brown the beef & freeze it the put together just before your party. Also, ham & cheese rolls with poppy seeds can be frozen & baked just before serving.

Will post more if I think of them.

Chicken, Pepper Jack Cheese, Pita Pizzas - here's another recipes for one:

1 (6-inch) whole wheat pita bread
½ cup shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack or
Mozzarella cheese
(1/8-inch thick) slices cooked deli chicken (1 ounce each), cut into strips
½ cup diced fresh pineapple or canned pineapple tidbits
in its own juice, drained
3 teaspoons pizza or pasta sauce
2 teaspoons finely chopped green onion
chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Super easy spicy meatballs

1 bag/box frozen meatballs
1 lg. jar pepperocini w/juice
1 can mushrooms
3-4 cans beef broth (enough to cover the meatballs)

throw everything in a crock pot and cook on low 6 hours.

So easy and delicious. Just a warning though, the longer these babies cook, the hotter they get. They are requested at every gathering I go to.

That and my sausage bread.

This is a great one that you can make ahead of time and freeze.

1 package 6 English Muffins (I get the store brand)
1 6oz can of crabmeat drained
1 Jar Old English Cheese (Kraft usually near the velveeta) room temp
2 teaspoons mayo
1 stick butter softened
½ teaspoom garlic powder
½ teaspoon season salt

Slice open all muffins so you have 12 halves---put aside

Mix soften butter & mayo together and add spices
Mix in drained crabmeat
Mix in cheese

Spread mixture over muffin halves. Use all of mixture on the 12 halves. Muffins should be heaping. Place muffin halves on a cookie sheet or tray and freeze.

When frozen (I usually leave overnight) take muffins out and quarter.
Store in a ziplock bag in freezer

To serve:
Take them out of the freezer, put them on a cookie sheet and put them in a 350 preheated oven until the top bubbles or under the broiler for 2 minutes.

Serve warm.

I haven't been able to eat these for years as I can no longer eat any dairy products. But my family loves them so I make them.
