Ok so Zhu Zhu Pets.....those cute little furry hamster toys.

First off who's looking for them?

Who's got them and what do you think?

I got the little grey one and a accessory ball earlier today at Toys R Us- they released 65 of them at 2:00 and I just happened to ask the right associate LOL. Unlike most Holiday shoppers I purchased my little hamster as a toy for my 3 cats- so far it's a HUGE hit!

I will however be returning the accessory ball- silly hamster doesn't stay upright when inside the ball and you keep having to right itself- even with te stabilizer on the belly [which is supposed to fix this issue?]

My daughter got one and a few accessories for her birthday. It's cute, but it only got played with the first night she got it. Nobody has touched it since. Maybe because we have real pets? I could see how it could bring extended fun to a pet less child, but we have two dogs who fetch, and run, and assist with hide and seek. My kids never seem to play with their toys anyways though, so maybe it has more to do with that.

I agree that I can definitely see the appeal for a child without a pet. This hamster is very cute- but no where near the real thing. My cats are really enjoying watching it, following it around, and swatting at it with their paws.

I'm rather surprised pet stores haven't caught on to this yet.....they'd make a lot of money.

I would sell the hamster ball on eBay. I've seen them going for up to $50! I think I am going to sell some of the Zhu Zhu pets and accessories I bought for relatives' kids. I am amazed what they are selling for on eBay. The stuff I've bought has been bringing 5-10 times what I paid for them. I doubt the kids I bought them for will even like them very much, so I'll use the profits I make to buy them something much better than Zhu Zhu pets! :thumbsup2

I bet your cats really love the hamster. They're pretty cool. DH tried to get me to give one of them to our yorkie. But no way I'm giving a hamster worth $50 to my dog, :lmao: even though I only paid $8 for it.

You need to hit the Budget board. There's been a whole thread on these going since August. Cute, affordable(at least in stores) and oh so very hot amongst the kiddies this yr.

My cousin is obsessed with them. She is trying to collect them all as gifts for her small children. They have no pets. Apparently it is THE hot gift that nobody can get around here this year. I havent seen them yet in action.

I bought one months ago and it's hanging out in the closet for now. DS 3 and DD 13 haven't seen or said anything about them on tv.. I don't ebay so he will just hang there, I have a few friends on fb looking for them so I will probably just pass him on there to one of them.

My DDs thought they were cute so I half heatedly tried at a few stores to get one for them then stumbled upon the 3 pack yesterday toysrus.com so I grabbed it.

We will see, it wasnt a "must have" in our house but they thought they would like it.

I ran across one and bought it (store had a limit of 1 per customer) decided to put it on ebay. Paid $10 for it put a Buy it now for $25 and it sold in less than 3 minutes. So I made more than double my money, too bad I can't find them anymore.
