OMG! I am creeped out right now!

They are doing a "Lunch and Learn" in my office today and the company that is doing the class is providing chinese food.

So, I offered to help a girl in my office with moving the table of food into the training room. Once we get the food moved in, she starts peeling off the foil from the pans. It is only the two of us in there. She then starts picking up food out of the pans with her FINGERS and eating it. I gave her a friendly swat on her hand (we're friends), and said "STAR!!! Don't put your fingers in the communal food!!!" She replied "My hands are clean," and shrugged.

She had just come back from smoking AND going to the restroom, not 5 minutes before. I REALLY hope she washed her hands, but STILL! I am sitting at my desk now, queasy thinking about the people about to eat the food that she just put her hands all in. :scared:

Gross. Even if she washed her hands, it's still rude. I'm glad you told her not to do it.

I know and I feel so bad because it isn't like I can really do anything about it. If I say something then A) she gets in trouble, and B) they won't have any food. I can only pray that she washed her hands!

You know, I was going to get Chinese for lunch, now I'm not so sure. :rotfl:

Were her hands touching the other food?

did she just carry a table? By grabbing it from underneath?

Meh, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. Hehehehehe

Oh, yuck!

If people don't want to wash their hands before eating, fine, go ahead, be nasty. :sad2:

But putting her hands all over everyone else's food? Totally gross. (And rude.)

What do you guys do when a restaurant serves chips and salsa?

Hope that none of the servers have been dipping their hands into the salsa to eat it *or* double-dipping chips & salsa from the restaurant's stock ...:scared:

Ok, no Chinese or Mexican food now.

agnes!

I was once sitting at my desk, eating a salad, while talking to a co-worker. She stuck her finger in my salad to grab a crouton. I stabbed it with my fork. HARD. She looked at me like I was insane. Who sticks their finger in other people's food?? :confused3

I could see doing it with family or someone you're very close to, but certainly not a coworker! Gross!

But the OP did not say anything about double dipping. I think double dipping is gross. I am unclear as to what kind of food they were eating with their fingers. Moo shu or egg rolls? I think there is a difference.

There are two boxes of munchkins here today as well as a bag of bagels that everyone is sticking their hands in. Not grossing anyone out.

What grosses me out is peopel who refill their water bottles at the cooler and put the bottle spot right on the cooler. Or people who put ice from the ice maker in their cups by scooping their used cups in the ice and not using the scooper.
