More of Chris and Kristen's day:
When we last left off, Chris and I had just ridden RnRC standby and used our FPs for ToT. Somehow, I forgot to include this picture, something Kimmy would NOT be too happy with me for doing!
We had some time now before our lunch ressie and needed to get out of the heat. The day was getting so hot already. We hadnt ridden the Great Movie Ride in December so I thought heading over there would be a good idea. Honestly, Id never seen the line so long for this ride! It was all the way out of the room with the movie, wrapped through some of the queue out there. I took the opportunity to take some pictures

We didnt have any place to be for a while so I wasnt concerned with us waiting a while for the ride, especially since we were in the A/C! Finally, it was our turn to ride through the movies!
Ok, I hate to admit this but I need to tell you guys I was dozing off the entire ride! The A/C mixed with being out late the night before and up early this morning just took over me I kept catching myself and shaking myself awake because if Chris would have noticed he would have made fun of me haha
Soon we were done with the GMR and hitting the stifling air outside woke me right up again! Another A/C attraction was in order now, the American Idol Experience! It was literally 11:55 at this point and the next show started at 12. I wasnt sure if wed make it before the doors closed so we quickly walked over hoping wed be able to get in since Chris really loves this attraction we made it in just in time! It was nice getting there last minute because weve seen this show a few times now and really didnt need to see the preshow again lol
I dont remember much about the three contestants except for that the one young guys dad (I think he was 17) was sitting in front of us. I felt bad because the boys mom, step dad and some other family were all the way on the other side of the theater and the dad was sitting in front of us all by himself. You could tell he was sooo excited to see his son up there performing because he was standing up and hootin and hollerin after he sang. All three were mediocre singers, in my opinion, and for the first time, the guy we voted for didnt win. The girl won. To us, this is such an enjoyable show! We love all the interaction the audience gets to have and its honestly very entertaining!
It was about 12:30 now and we didnt have time to squeeze much else in before our 1:05 ADR so we just headed over there early. If we couldnt be seated it wasnt a big deal because the waiting area at 50s PTC is so fun!
We checked in early and they told us they probably wouldnt be able to seat us until our actual ADR time so we went over and had a seat at the bar at the Tune In Lounge! I was dying for a cold, icy drink so I ordered a frozen margarita and Chris just got a coke. The waiting area was seriously packed so I figured we had some time to kill before wed be seated.
I couldnt believe how many people were crammed into that little lounge/waiting area! When we ate there for lunch in December there was virtually no one waiting! Surprisingly, about 10 minutes after we sat down our name was being called. I sent Chris to go tell the CM that we were here while I quickly paid for our drinks. The CM led us back here
In December we were on the totally opposite side of the restaurant so I was excited to be seated some place different this time. Ill start off by saying that 50s PTC is one of the places that is on Chris and Is must do list for each time we come to Disney and I dont see it coming off of that list anytime soon. We ate lunch here twice so far and think its seriously great!!!
Heres my half dranken (Im sure thats not a word) margarita that was super yummy
From the last time we were there, we knew we needed to order a Peanut Butter and Jelly milkshake. If you have never tried one of these from 50s, YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE MISSING OUT ON!! TRY ONE!! OMG it was heavenly!! Chris and I shared that. He ordered the chicken pot pie (I had that last time) and I ordered some kind of ham sandwich on whole grain bread. I guess thats pretty boring so I didnt take a picture of mine but I did take one of Chris pot pie
Oh yea and he ordered a side of French fries with gravy which we shared also
If you all remember, I was wearing my birthday button this day. Well towards the end of the meal our server (who told us shed been working for Disney for 24 years!) came over with a birthday cupcake (I was too full to eat this!) and a card for me. She announced to the little area that we were sitting in that Kristen from Long Island was celebrating her 23rd birthday and then sent around a birthday card and had all the tables sign the card for me! I was soooo excited about this! I kept saying Babe, theyre all signing the card FOR ME! It was truly a moment where I remembered why I love going to Disney World so much. I dont care what people say or how many times they ask me Why are you going there AGAIN?! because its times like that one where an explanation is just not necessary. Random strangers from different parts of the country were signing a birthday card for me and our server then lit my birthday candle and had everyone sing to me. I really could have cried, I was so happy at this point. Sadly, the picture of the signed card is one that Photobucket ate. I hate photobucket! Anyway, I still have the card and will keep it forever!
Soon we were done eating. We paid OOP for this meal so we settled our check and headed out. I made sure to tell everyone in our area THANK YOU as we walked out and they were all so sweet telling me Happy Birthday! It was about 2:00 and we were tired and hot so we planned to leave for a midday break.
On our way out though, we were stopped! These guys caught our eyes
OMG, they were hilarious!!! They were trying to measure the length of the street from sidewalk to sidewalk and it was soooo funny!! Another part of Disney that you just dont get at any other theme park! We stayed there and watched them until they were done. I really wish I would have gotten their whole act on video because it was THAT funny. So, in excellent spirits with full tummies, Chris and I headed out of DHS.
Up next for Kristen and Chris: A night of fun at Epcot!!
