You've Got a Friend in Me:TINKGURL & XOKTENOX's Adventures in WDW~UPDATE: 6/9 p.74

When we exited the shops down towards the Plaza Restaurant, we saw this coming up Main Street

Pleeeease someone tell me that I’m not the only one who gets choked up during the “Celebrate You” song?!? No matter when or where I am, if I hear that song I have to hold back tears! Such a sap I am haha
After some discussion, Chris and I headed through the hub, over this bridge
308.jpg

and into
309.jpg

I think the last time I rode this I was probably 11…
310.jpg

We headed over to Space to see if by any chance the stand by time was bearable…it wasn’t. 70 mins was not a period of time we were willing to wait! Again we were getting really hot so we decided to hit another attraction we’d never done, CoP! Actually when I was on it, I realized I had to have been on it as a kid because it seemed familiar. Anyway, it was a really enjoyable show! Of course, the A/C was wonderful as well. Next we went over to Buzz and grabbed some FPs. I don’t know what the wait time was but apparently too long to just wait lol Hunger was tugging at us right now so we headed over to another of our favorite CS’s, Cosmic Rays! As usual the place was packed so we patiently waited in line and decided what we wanted. After the order was placed I sent Chris to get a seat. The ONLY seat in the whole place was in the way back by the bathrooms.

I got a turkey bacon wrap with a sugar free brownie and Chris got a Philly Cheesesteak with chocolate cake.
311.jpg

312.jpg

313.jpg

The brownie was gross so it didn’t warrant a picture haha That wrap was huge but I ate the whole thing because it was so good!

After eating there was still some time before our Buzz FPs were good so we went to another attraction we’d never done before
314.jpg

The TTA! Sooo relaxing and peaceful!

Once we got done with our tour through Tomorrowland our Buzz FPs were ready to be used! Of course, Chris beat me like he always does. One day I will win! While waiting in line for Buzz, I got a text from Tink! They were at the CR swimming so I said we’d be heading over there soon to join them. Chris and I really had no game plan at this time. It was a great feeling! So we just started to walk. As we were passing the Lunching Pad we stopped at got a frozen coke for Chris and a frozen cherry for me. They really hit the spot on the warm night. Typing this right now, I can feel the warmth of the night air and the sweet taste of the slushie in my mouth. What a great memory. We kept walking and went through Fantasyland.
320.jpg

321.jpg

I seriously CANNOT wait for this
322.jpg

326.jpg

Walking through the castle I quickly snapped these
327.jpg

328.jpg

We thought it would be a good idea to go see how long the wait for the Haunted Mansion was! So, over to Liberty Square we went.

331.jpg

While on line, Tink texted me again and told me she wanted to watch the fireworks from the viewing balcony at their resort. Chris and I were definitely wanting to do that with them so after our haunted ride, we had to walk all the way around Liberty Square, through Frontierland, into Adventureland around to the Hub to get out of the park. The Main Street Electrical Parade was going on! It gave us a little dose of what was to come later in the week. Out of the park we walked to the monorail, and a short time later, we were at the CR!

Together Chris, Tink and I watched the fireworks from the viewing spot. We had the monorail track in our way so it was not the best view but I was so excited to see the Summer Nightastic show!

336.jpg

After the fireworks Chris and I changed into our swimsuits. The rest of Tink’s family decided to head back up to their rooms for the night so Tink, her DF, Chris and I swam around for a while in the pool. It was much cooler than the pool at Pop! When Tink and I would get cool, we would head into the hot tub and then just back into the pool. It was great to get to just spend time swimming, relaxing and socializing with them! Definitely one of my favorite nights of the entire trip! While we were swimming, Tink’s mom brought something down from their room for me. The night before I had bought the picture of Chris and I from before the luau. She held it for me while we went to Epcot and gave it to me since we were headed back to the room after swimming. At about 11:15 we decided to call it a night. Chris and I changed back into dry clothes and since the MK had just closed, we took a taxi back to Pop to avoid the insane lines for a bus. Back to our room we quickly were in bed and asleep, dreaming dreams of our next day at DHS!

Great update Kristen! I'm starting to get so excited and our trip is still 6 months away. You got some great pics!

Days at the park when you're just walking and ending up somewhere w/o a specific plan are always my favorites. Of course, the days with plans are necessary if you want to so a lot of things. But I love the lazy days in the park too!

It's great that the four of you just got to hang out and relax for a bit. That sounds like a great night :)

I was several updated behind.

Ladies your day so far sound so great. A very early morning to catch the opening show and a ride on EE before breakfast. We haven't tried Tusker House yet but it's on the radar.

Kristen you really got some great shots of the Pangani Trail. I really love your Gorilla photos. I don't think they have ever been that close when we were there. Great Safari photos too. Can't believe the lion was actually moving around.

Tink sounds like LG really enjoyed the safari with REAL animals. It's so neat that y'all ended up in the same FOTLK. The tumble monkeys are my favorite.

I've never caught the show with the bunnies. I'm sure little kids would love it.

A mickey bar is my favorite treat in Disney World, so glad LG got one. We really enjoyed Nemo but it can be a little long for little ones.

Kali is the perfect way to cool off when it's hot. Hope you dried out quick.

Kristen your relaxing time by the pool sound like the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Also enjoyed your relaxing evening in the MK. And ending the night swimming with Tink and DF was another perfect ending.

Looking forward to the next day.

Hey Tinkgurlfriend!!! and Kristen!!!

I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up with your TR as well as I should be but I'm here now! I've caught up on everything and as usual your updates are so great! I love hearing the two different perspectives at once and as I've said before the Little Guy is just tooooo cute!! Especially when he was posing in his Simba outfit at FOTLK :rotfl:

Tink, I'm not crazy about the Mission:Space area music either LOL! I listen to tons of WDW area music at home, and that is one I often skip.

The Little Guy looked so enthralled watching the AK welcome show it made my heart melt! Reminds me of myself during the MK welcome show, hahaha. I have never seen the one at AK but I can't wait to on our next trip!

I really wanna try Tusker House. My favorite thing is how the characters are all dressed up in their safari gear! Little guy is so cute holding onto Daisy for dear life.

Kristen, I love your Pangani pics! I don't recall seeing that animal you don't remember the name of who is related to the giraffe... but it looks so cool! I love the striped legs. Lucky you got to see the lion up and about. I don't know if you read that part in my TR but the same thing happened to us and I freaked out! It's really indescribable how exciting it is to see a live lion up and moving like that!

How come you guys didn't wanna watch Nemo? It's so amazing, you HAVE to see it one day!

Tink, I love that picture of the giraffes in the trees from your safari! I was also waiting for the broken bridge part and it never happened. That was back in April, so if it happened to you in July, maybe they're just done with it!

I've never been in Pizzafari, but I love that mural! I know there has to be Hidden Mickeys in there! I couldn't find any in your pic though..hmm..

Great pics of Nemo!! You brought me right back there! I especially love your pelican pic, being up so close is a totally different view of it. Awesome!!

Whoa sorry for the super long reply but I missed a lot. Promise I'll keep up better!

Hey disneygirlfriend! Don't be sorry-I loved the long reply!!

Bummer, I guess they really are done with the broken bridge part of the safari!

Kristen just posted another update and I plan to have my rest of the day up soon!!

Oh girl, I totally feel you on being busy! This month has been crazy... and it's only going to get crazier from here on out the rest of the year!

I agree! I hope to have my update of the rest of the day up by the end of the week!

Thanks for reading along!

Even though Kristen posted her rest of the day, I still have mine to do! It should be up by the end of the week!

Sounds like a great afternoon, Kristen! Drinking the Pina Colava by the pool sounds sooo relaxing! Haha, we love the CoP-- perfect to take a break from the heat and the walking. The Be Our Guest restaurant is definitely the thing I'm looking forward to the most in the Fantasyland expansion! Can't wait to hear more about it.

Hi ladies! Before I forget, can you tell me what type of camera you both have? We need to get a new camera before our next trip since ours is dying on us, and I'm looking for recommendations.

It's funny how the nights like yours where you go swimming & just hang out end up being some of the best nights on a vacation! I think it's because you are spending quality time with people and not feeling rushed to get stuff done.

I loved seeing the pictures from KRR line. I have never ridden it so I've never walked through there before. It is really detailed!

Kristen - that wrap that you ate for dinner looks amazing. I might have to get one on our next trip!

Whew, I'm caught up again. How funny that you all ended up at the same FotLK show! Your evening of watching the fireworks together and socializing at the pool sounds like a very nice, relaxing evening. I'm glad that you DIS-friends could spend time together like that.

I absolutely love mine! It's a Nikon CoolPix.

It's true..if you don't take the time to relax and enjoy your trip-it's going to be over before you know!

I had forgotten that you were there during the Nightastic fireworks!! Tell us more about it! Were they good?? Better than Wishes??

I love that you like CoP!! One of my favorites!!

70 minutes for Orbiter?? Ouch!!

I loved our pool time too- so much fun relaxing after a day at the parks in the pool!!:thumbsup2

Great update Kristen! That does sound like a fun night with Tink. :goodvibes

I'm the whole way entirely caught up and loving it!!!:goodvibes

So many great memories and you've only finished 2/3 days!!!:cool1:

looking forward to the surprise being revealed for kristen's birthday and my money is on.. a D&B Bag...every time I see Tink's posed seductively in the corner of a photo I think...my life would be complete with that handbag!!!:rotfl:

Our trip was only a few weeks before and the animal kingdom day brought back so many great memories! looking forward to reading more updates!

When it's super hot and disgusting out, KRR always does the trick :thumbsup2 I remember one trip we dried within the hour after getting soaked, it was that humid!

Your afternoon at the pool sounded so relaxing! I still have yet to go on COP! Definitely next month I'll go on, I think that's the only ride/show in MK I've yet to do.

What a fun night with Tink!

I had forgotten that you were there during the Nightastic fireworks!! Tell us more about it! Were they good?? Better than Wishes??

It was SO good. I'll have better pics from another night on the trip and talk more about it!

Pleeeease someone tell me that I’m not the only one who gets choked up during the “Celebrate You” song?!? No matter when or where I am, if I hear that song I have to hold back tears! Such a sap I am haha

We were moving and shaking to that on Saturday. :cool1: One CM was going wild with her dancing. We have video of her, because she was doing it up in a big way! It is such a fun and happy parade. :woohoo:

What a great day/evening Kristen!

It sounds like it was a zoo at AK! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm cracking myself up! :lmao:

I don't know if I could deal with heat like that... although I think we did in October last year. :lmao:

Glad you had some downtime at POP to relax and try out Petals!!! :drinking1

What a great evening watching the fireworks with Tink and trying out the CR pool and hottub! :goodvibes

 No pun intended, right Tim?! :thumbsup2

I'll have my rest of the day update either tomorrow or Friday. There will be some great pics coming up!!! (Especially from our ADR at WCC!)

Finally just catching up with all these respones! Sorry guys! We appreciate everyone sticking around with us, we know everyone is busy. It seems like by the time I get home from work, go to the gym, get home, eat and shower the last thing I want to do is whip out my laptop and go online. I usually just collapse right into my bed! Anyway, Tink's update for the rest of this day should be up later tonight or tomorrow. I should be able to start our next day this weekend :)
:scared1::scared1::scared1: WOW that is crazy.

I am finally all caught up. FOLK is one of my regular "must dos". I enjoy the tumble monkeys.... well actually one in particular. :lovestruc

Can't wait to hear more about your day.

FotLK is always something we HAVE to do! The tumble monkeys are amazing!

No, no your not! Actually, DH and I are staying at BLT next week and heard there are tons of vultures flying around over there! So, now I'm freaked out! Great way to start a vacation!

You're at BLT right now!! I hope the vultures aren't bad!

Oh girl, I totally feel you on being busy! This month has been crazy... and it's only going to get crazier from here on out the rest of the year!

Girlllllllllll I hope you talked to Josh about our tentative dates!!

Thanks! That animal is an okapi, MeMom reminded me. I read your TR I just never have time to post and yes, I remember you seeing the lion up and about too! We have seen Nemo before...to be honest it's just not something we're in a rush to see again. I mean the production of the show itself is wonderful but just not always on our list of must dos!

Tink, I love that picture of the giraffes in the trees from your safari! I was also waiting for the broken bridge part and it never happened. That was back in April, so if it happened to you in July, maybe they're just done with it!

The pina colava was delicious. When I spilled it I wasn't sure if I was more mad that I got it on my Vera or that I wasted some of it haha I agree about the Be Our Guest restaurant!

Hi ladies! Before I forget, can you tell me what type of camera you both have? We need to get a new camera before our next trip since ours is dying on us, and I'm looking for recommendations.

I have a Kodak something or other lol I like the picture quality but I'm just not good with the settings on it and it's kinda bulky. I'd recommend Tink's camera before mine.

This night was definitely one of the most relaxing as well as one of the best. The KRR queue was so well detailed!

Whew, I'm caught up again. How funny that you all ended up at the same FotLK show! Your evening of watching the fireworks together and socializing at the pool sounds like a very nice, relaxing evening. I'm glad that you DIS-friends could spend time together like that.

It was amazing to get to spend that time with Tink and her DF. We really cherished it.

I had forgotten that you were there during the Nightastic fireworks!! Tell us more about it! Were they good?? Better than Wishes??

70 minutes for Orbiter?? Ouch!!

I loved our pool time too- so much fun relaxing after a day at the parks in the pool!!:thumbsup2

We see the Nightastic fireworks for real later in the week so I'll tell more then! 70 min wait was for Space, not sure what the wait time for Orbiter was.

Great update Kristen! That does sound like a fun night with Tink. :goodvibes

Thanks Sarah!

I'm the whole way entirely caught up and loving it!!!:goodvibes

We have lots more to come so stick around, even though we're slow! Ohhh someone who doesn't know what the birthday surprises were! I know a lot of people do from Facebook!

KRR was great in that heat! We wanted to get soaked! The pool was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon. How exciting you'll be there next month!!

We were moving and shaking to that on Saturday. :cool1: One CM was going wild with her dancing. We have video of her, because she was doing it up in a big way! It is such a fun and happy parade. :woohoo:

Envious! I'm looking forward to seeing that video. idk why that song makes me cry!

Yep, sometimes just hanging out is one of the nicest parts of a trip. :thumbsup2

It was totally one of the best.

What a great day/evening Kristen!

It sounds like it was a zoo at AK! :rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm cracking myself up! :lmao:

Tim! I'm soooooooooooo sosososososo behind on your PTR. I'm sorrryyyyy! You're just a regular comedian over here now aren't you? lol Petals was one of the best parts of Pop haha

ANNOUNCEMENT

Chris and I have dates for next years trip! I wanted to wait until the end of the TR to announce we were definitely going back in 2011 but at this rate we'll be gone and back already if I waited that long haha :rotfl: Plus, I wanted a ticker! Our 98% sure dates are May 31-June 8. If anyone has something planned for this time, please let us know! We love DIS meets! The best part of this all is we're going to rent DVC points again like we did last December! The best BEST part of it all is we're staying at the Beach Club Villas!! You'll hear about this later in the TR but we fell in LOVE with it over there this trip. We never though we'd be able to stay there because even renting points, the # of points is very high, more then we could afford. Then a few weeks ago, a friend of mine tells me she bought DVC!! She's sure they're not going to be able to go next year so she's giving me an AMAZING deal on 8 nights there! I was just about bouncing off of the walls when she told me! Another SUPER EXCELLENT thing about this is that Kimmy (Princess Momma) and her son Landon are going to go then as well, along with my friend Nicole and her fiance Scott! Lauren (lauren_elizabeth) is pretty sure she'll be going then too! You'll notice I'm leaving out one VERY important person...Tink. Tink's not 100% sure when her family is going next year. She is going to tell them when we booked for and HOPEFULLY they'll be able to go at the same time otherwise, I'll just cry. Chris and I needed to pick dates soon because we had to know when our 7 month window would open up for booking. Everyone, keep your fingers crossed that it will work out!!! So that's the big news...my friend gets to call and book us on Halloween!!! :yay:
