This is silly, but I'm no longer petrified to drive in the snow!!!!

My divorce 9 years ago, left me the choice of staying home, or braving it! For many years, I stayed home, LOL. But last year I bought a Trailblazer and in that year, we've had more snow than I remember!

I have to drive my DD to school every day (she goes to a prep. school that never cancels).

I now have NO FEAR!!

It feels so good to overcome a fear, doesn't it? Are you sure your name's not Gloria Steinem?:scratchin

When we first moved to Michigan Travis was an infant. I grew up in Texas and Arizona, I had NEVER driven in snow before and I was terrified. That first winter, I just stayed at home and made my dh drive me to the grocery or where ever it was I needed to go. I was afraid I would kill my baby and I just couldn't bring myself to drive when there was snow on the ground.

The second winter, my husband said I needed to get over it and learn to drive in snow. We went to the mall late one night and I "practiced" driving my little yellow Volkswagon Beetle in the parking lot. Dh told me all the things not to do etc. I was still terrified but I started driving.

I have no fear now either, and I guess I'm pretty good at driving in the snow--my car has never gone of the road or hit another.

Now, ice is a different story. I did hit someone during an icestorm. Didn't get a ticket because it wasn't my fault. I'm still afraid of driving on ice and avoid it.

Congratulations on overcoming your fear of driving in snow. You have come a long way!
