Youtube Converter for music

Hey all, was with some younger nieces and nephews today and they were telling me how they use this youtube converter to convert youtube video's to music files on their phones and ipods. Does anyone use this? Is it legit? They say it is, but i'm leery so I came on here to get opinions. I did google it and got a free download but don't want to get virus's. Anyone use this for their music?

it's possible to do.

it does rip off the artists and so ethically, is all kinds of problematic. you can download songs legally for a little over a buck...
