"You're gonna need a bigger boat"

Teva! I've got it on right now--it's usually on like 500 times over the July 4th holiday! :thumbsup2 I just heard where "You're going to need a bigger boat" was improvised on the spot and is considered one of the top movie lines of all time.

"Show me the way to go home. I'm tired and I want to go to bed..." :)

Well I had a little drink about an hour ago and it went right to my head...

"Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies / Farewell and adieu you ladies of Spain. / For we received orders for to sail back to Boston / And soon never more will we see you again."

I LOVED Robert Shaw. He was great in anything but he really played the sailor part to the hilt.

What channel is it on? It's been so long since I've seen it.

Here's to swimmin' with bow-legged women! :p

I think I remember that Robert Shaw was drunk a good bit of the time they filmed - maybe even that speech about the Indianapolis.

I'm firmly convinced that Jaws is on, somewhere in the world, continuously 24/7, and will be forevermore.

What a great movie...

I liked the way they made the Richard Dreyfess character so likeable in the movie--he was a real jerk in the book.

Yes, his character was very different--and I think for the better, too. I liked how in the movie the Chief and his wife had a really strong relationship.

I'm watching Crossing Jordan right now, and there's a dead body inside a shark, and I am thinking of Richard Dreyfuss...

you know, in the novel, Richard Dreyfuss's character died.

Yes, and you were happy he died. That was one of the things I liked about the movie--that he didn't die, and the chief's relationship with his wife.

Yes, because remember in the book it was the Richard Dreyfus character who had sex with the Chief's wife - one of my first "steany" scenes!!!

Besides 'you're gonna need a bigger boat' my favorite line from the movie is Mrs Brody's "Michael! You heard your father, get out of the boat!"

Okay in 2 days we have 2 threads going about needing a bigger boat :boat:. GMTA??

I didn't realize someone already started a Jaws thread!

"You know, I used to be afraid of the water..."
