im glad they got rid of the Religious/Political threads.
i come here to be happy not pissed off at some Bullpoop comment that im going to hell or Obama is the worst. i was sick of it.
i want to empisize the I COME HERE TO BE HAPPY part!:) so please dont peeve me off:) OR ELSE -insert evil laugh-

This is what the CB is gonna be soon:

"POLL: Should I wear my bright red suit with orange flip flops or my hot pink bunny slippers?"
"My grandma got in an accident this afternoon. She's now bleeding profusely from a gap in her skull. You can see her brain. It's Sunday. Should we go to the ER or wait until her doctors appointment on Friday afternoon?"
"MumboJumboFumboi Fan Club. JOIN OUR CLIQUE!"
"The doorman at Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC was sooo rude. He didn't even give me the complimentary champagne like he was supposed to!"
"I'm in debt by $100000000, but I want a Disney trip so I'm going NOW!"

My personal fave.
That is SOOOO true though.ugh

I hate it when people pick and choose what they choose to follow. The WMs made a rule saying all religious and political discussion was not allowed, so prayers, christmas, etc should all be banned from discussion.

That is seriously true. Threads about rainbows and french fries is their form of rebellion.

No more "Merry Christmas" threads or wishes.

Or Easter.

Or Passover.

No more "can you pray for _____?" threads.

No more...well, anything.

Yes, but it was really good to see knowledgeable teens discuss topics like religion and politics.

Those will be allowed, supposedly.

While I realize this has very little impact on the particular forum, we have been asked to post something letting everyone know that there is a new policy in effect for every area of the DIS Boards.

Discussions of politics and religion are no longer allowed anywhere on the DIS.

This does not mean that you can not ask for prayers or pixie dust, It doesnt mean that you can not wish someone Merry Christmas.

It means that political and religious discussion / debates are not allowed.

If anyone is interested the new policy is located here:

As I said earlier...this has VERY little bearing on this forum, but we were asked to let everyone know.

Debates on cake versus pie versus brownies are fine BTW.

This was posted on the DIS UNPLUGGED forum.

honstly i get it enough at home. my grandma is BIG into politics and religion and she has something to tell us everynight and B**** about it.:confused3

Like I said, bringing back the Debate forum would be a much better move, IMO.

But then again, what do I know? I'm only a stupid teen.

Oh, I know right.

I never knew there was a debate forum? That sounds like a good idea.

It's an old thing Tom. I wasn't really around here until Jun 2007, but I was signed up my WMAlex in 2003 at a Cape Cod meet. Dang, he's got a gorgeous home too! His daughter is my age so we hung out.

Anyways, I lurked around here then. I'm pretty positive there was a Debate forum.

It's a matter of opinion.

I don't like to talk about cotton candy and unicorns all the time. I like serious conversation that has depth. Sure, sometimes I love discussing invisible peanut butter (you're awesome if you get that, btw) but mostly I like real conversation.

I agree it IS a matter of opinion
:lmao:

There used to be a debate board, but I understood that it was absolute chaos. It could be nice to watch at times, I'm sure though.

we obviously couldnt handle it.
consequences are consequences i guess.
-shrug-

@patti: fuschia is BOTH. OMG. didnt you KNOW that?! 8D

I don't think it's decided because of our debates on the TB. Its the whiney, childish ****-fests on the CB that caused this.

Freedom of speech, downgraded. D:

srsly? do you read the cb?
how many of our debate threads have gotten closed down here on the tb? now how many debate threads have gotten closed on the cb?

You mean, we can't talk about the Flying Spaghetti Monster anymore?!

Well, that's depressing. I like pasta. :sad1:
