Ok, you've just received everyone's dream job. You get to be WDW director for a day, and you get to make one change.

What would you do to make WDW better in your opinion (MK, EPCOT, AK, MGM, DTD, any resort. . .ANYTHING)?

Me, I'd bring back 20,000 Leagues and Mr. Toad

Build the Indian Jones ride from Disneyland at MGM, put the Pirates of the Carribean restraunt that is at Disneyland also at Disney World. Change the Tiki Room back to the original management. Add the Matahorn.... what a great ride!! Expand the monarail to all resorts. I am sure there is more, but this is what I can think of now.

I'd bring back the Tapestry of Nations parade, check out Walt's apartment on Main Street, and take a gander at the view from the castle steeple. And possibly institute a max crowd limit.

And I agree with the above poster - expand the monorail to lots more resorts, though that's kind of a lot to get done in one day!

I would use my official Im the boss of disney world card and ride everything...

twice... :)

oh right and add The forbiddon eye

Wow--just getting back, we had all kids of ideas. We would like to see more Disney movie props at MGM--maybe a museum. We would like to see a Monsters, inc. ride there too. They need more at this park for the elementary school crowd. We would incorporate a boy's character breakfast. Also, we would have more unusual characters out in the parks--more of them and longer times that they are available. I would love to see more themed resteraunts at MK with better food. Don't really mind the price ifthe food is decent. Agree with the monorail, too. I'm sure I will think of more. :wizard:

I would hire the top Ride makers in the world, and bring them into disney world and have them come up with some new disney themed rides like to see some roller coasters for the more mature crowd. So much room that disney owns around i would like to see a few more hotels. Also the expanded monorail loop would definately be a top priority.

I know that the point of the Animal Kingdom is the animals, but I would have more rides and shows in AK. Especially closer to the entrance. It must be a mile walk from the bus to It's Tough to be a Bug and about a mile and a half to Dinosaur. Some extra shade in AK wouldn't hurt either. Maybe that is why the walk seems so far AK always feels extra hot to me.

I'd ban smoking all together - especially in AK. During bag checks if you have cigarettes/cigars, wave bye bye...I know it sounds harsh, and I understand smokers have a habit, but I'd rather not have to breathe in your smoke, even when I pass by those designated areas.

Also, I'd take away that incredibly ridiculous "line" rule for characters. When I was a kid, there were no lines. The characters didn't stand in one spot either - they'd roam.

All attractions would have some interactive pre-show when you're waiting on line. (Example: Star Tours, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, etc. etc.) Lots of attractions are without this unfortunately...

I'd let DVC members have their own lines at the rides like they do at Universal for Hotel guests. :goodvibes I'd like to see a Monsters Inc. roller coaster ride based on themovie scene w/ all the doors. There should also be more to do at MGM. I'd also get rid of that Indiana Jones Stunt Show. It has been there since the park opened. Lots of kids don't even know who Indiana Jones is anymore! I'd also update some of the rides in Fantasyland. I know they are for the younger kids but they haven't kept up with technology! I'm sure after my trip next week I'll have lots more ideas! :earsgirl:

I would bring back the old Tiki Birds show. Or maybe redo it without Iago. Ugh, that is too much Gilbert Godfried (sp??)

This is not my original idea but a while back someone else suggested a peoplemover around Downtown Disney (like the TTA in Tomorrowland) It would make getting around DD so much easier and fun!!

i'd move PI . i think it doesn't really belong at disney, a family oriented resort complex. they could build something off property if they want but i think you should be able to go to the dtd area without the drinking to excess aspect some display at PI.( not saying all do so). they can provide night time entertainment on property but think it shouldn't be some you can not take your kids to.( more like the cirque, disney quest aspect)

i'd add more attractions to Ak but keep it more animal oriented with afew ride than turing it into another mk. to me each park is pretty good at keeping to it's theme with some fun ride thrown in also.

I'd update some of epcot..add more actual attractions or a movie or something to England, Germany, Japan and Italy in particular since they are just shops and food no

edited:
in case anyone is keeping score I changed "get rid of " to "move" PI ( thought i was allowed to do so but someone flipped one time i changed a couple words in a post i made  )

I second, third and fourth the monorail being accessible to every resort (maybe one stop for all stars) and every park.
I also agree about the Tiki Room. I almost cried when horrible Iago interrupted the Tiki Tiki song!
Hmm what else would I do? Bring back the awesome parades definitely. I would put more innovative inventions in Innoventions (that is afterall what its for-not video games). I would open up Cinderella's castle so you can go up the top and view MK. I would bring back a Villans character meal and install the villans in the park full time and not just during Halloween. I would increase the number of characters in every park. I would install quality control on CMs to ensure that they are all glad to be there and not rude! And of course, I would give them all BIG raises because they deserve it!

Gee I thought I was the only one with the Monsters Inc door scene for a ride. That would be a must. I think I would make some kind of tkt perk ( special fastpasses) for resort guests. A real restuarant at the American pavillion ( that fast food counter is an embaressment). I would add something to AK its just missing that something special. Oh yeah, expand the monorail is a must!!

So you think Disney is reading this????? :rolleyes1

So far a lot of great ideas.

I think PI is absolutly necessary, especially for younger couples w/o kids, it's a nice escape, but perhaps they could do something to seperate it from DTD, I've seen too many kids getting yanked out of Adventurer's Club when parents realize there is a lot of adult humor there.

I'd put more adult friendly rides at MGM, I think there is enough for the youngsters there already, make it more of a thrill ride park.

And I'd provide seperate busses for all three of the All Star Resorts.

I had forgotten those things.

Am I the only one who doesn't think there should be a thrill park in WDW - the main concern of Walt and even Roy was that it would always be family friendly and there would always be something for everyone to do...if someone doesn't like one thing, here's another choice. Rollercoasters are great, but if you want a park with mainly thrill rides, Universal is only a drive away - Disney always strived to be different than the others, so as there could BE no real competition...I wouldn't consider anyone a competitor of Disney at this point. Also, the only thing geared towards children in MGM is Playhouse Disney: Live on Stage, The HISTK Playset, VOTLM, and BATB. That's 3 shows and a playground.

Also, the monorail is extremely expensive to build track for...they should do it over a gradual period of time...all at once could cause many money shortages and cutbacks...we don't want to see our favorite CMs booted do we? :)

(sorry, I tend to play Devil's Advocate sometimes because I think incredibly backwards. ) ;)

I like the ideas of more incentives for the CM's to get back that old magic that we all reminice (sp?) about. Either within better pay, better hours, more staff, or better training. Or all of the above.

Like others I would further expand the monorail system. Also, I would lower the prices on merchandise. Just b/c the people are there and it is exclusive merchandise, doesn't mean we have to capitalize completely on that. I think if the prices were lowered the inventory would move even more. They make enough money on ticket sales to handle any loss in merchandise. Heck, they make enough money on ticket sales to handle losses from the television and studio divisions, they can definitely handle it in theme park merchandising.

And to pay for more incentives or monorail expansion, I would raise the price of admission by $5-$10 per ticket. It wouldn't be much for an individual family, but when multiplied by the number of tickets sold, it would add significantly to the revenue stream.

And finally, corporate jet privs for life as my "golden parachute" which comes into play the next day. :cool1:

OH!!

I would also get all the rare characters to come out at the same time!!

This includes Malificent, Roger Rabbit, The Walrus (from AIW), and the infamous Brer Rabbit who has been hiding from me for 24 years!!!!!

OH, now we're into Characters.

I would get Elliot from Pete's Dragon out, and the Big Bad Wolf.

I just read thison another thread and couldnt agree more with this person...the first thing I would do is march into MGM and take down that huge sorcerer's Hat that blocking the iconic Chinese Theater.
