Your retail winners and losers this year

JCPenney with $10 off anything coupons

Barnes and Noble with coupons for $ off and 20/30/40% items almost every week. Plus the 50% off on Black Friday for one toy was great.

Also can't forget Amazon but they are my favorite year round

My great/fantastic/incredible deals are below.

ALL DEALS (other than the airsoft) were found at Bradsdeals.com. I need to stay OFF THAT SITE! It is deadly! And I love it!

1. I got a Pfalzgraff set of dishes, 34 piece set, for $35 shipped! It was such a great deal I got two sets! 68 pieces for $70 total including shipping! It was a blitz one day only deal and went back up from $35 to $150 the next day (the $150 is their "sale" price.)

2. I got all the Best Buy 3DS game deals for $5 each game and I bought 3 of each, one for each child, so there won't be any fighting!

3. I found some earrings online that were normally $45 each set for $5 including shipping. I bought 4 sets so now I can be sure I always have a matching set......I am notorious for losing one earring of a set! :rotfl:

4. I got DH several magazine subscriptions he wanted for $3-$5 per year

5. Did the Target $10 gift card and used it to buy HP 7 part 2 combo pack when it was on sale for $20, so I got the combo pack for $10.

I am sure there are more but those I am most excited about.

No losers yet, although I didn't get a fantastic deal on the airsoft guns the boys wanted.....

The majority of my shopping was done online, but I'd have to say:

Winners:
Kohls-loved the $15 cash back coupons Thanksgiving weekend. My vacuum died the day before Thanksgiving, found one at Kohls and along with some PJs for DS, I got $45 back in Kohls cash. Used it to buy DD some much needed jeans.
Penneys-Got a great price on work shirts for DH, PJs for DD and a winter coat for a boy on the angel tree at church. Plus, all the $10 or $15 coupons were great, too.
Best Buy-Great for us because we bought a new LCD TV and home theater system. We were very happy with the prices and were able to get a bigger TV because of the low price. We also got DD a 9" portable DVD player for 50% off.
Land's End-Between their clearance items, free shipping and 40% off codes, I spent way more money here than I ever anticipated.

Losers:
Target and Walmart-None of their toy sales were that great, in fact I don't think I bought a single thing from Walmart this year due to better deals on what I needed at other retailers.
DisneyStore.com-I was really disappointed with their sales and discounts this year. This year was horrible compared to years past.

Toys R Us was in the middle. I got some great deals on toys in November and loved the BOGO 50% off Legos, but had a horrible customer service experience and store pickup kept messing up my orders. I ended up signing up for the Shoprunner free trial so I could get free shipping because I was having such bad luck whenever I actually went into the store.

I did well with amazon (purchased a computer and some DVD's), Kohl's (purchased a Keurig for 30% off plus received kohls cash and I also received a $10 certificate to spend on anything), and I did okay with Toys R Us (purchased in-store the leappad bundle and buy one, get one free games for leappad). I bought a few things from Target on black friday and found a Lalaloopsy silly hair doll there. I don't think I purchased anything at all from Walmart.

I found some great deals at:

Michael's (Black Friday in-store)
Amazon
DiscountMags.com
Old Navy (got a pea coat for $18 after tax in-store; regular $60)
NewEgg.com
Target

The loser for me is Walmart. I browsed the store for 2 hours one day while waiting for a prescription to be filled. I only bought dishwasher soap.

I'm ambivalent about other stores. I didn't really shop elsewhere, since nothing caught my eye.

I really didn't hit any losers this year.

Amazon got a majority of my business
Target - came in 2nd for items bought -love the gcs and debit discounts
B&N - DS's school has a % day fundraiser so I always shop that day
Kohls - did ok on BF and spending the Kohls cash later

I bought very little at stores other than those 4.

It was fairly stress free and had no issues getting my deliveries.

Thumbs up for: Jc Penneys, Target, Old Navy, and Amazon.com

Thumbs down for: Disneystore.com...I am fed up with finding out after the fact (after paying for my order and receiving an incomplete order in the mail) that items I ordered were actually out of stock even though they were shown as in stock on the website :headache: On top of that it is a production getting your money back. Twice is enough for me, never again.

Amazon
Target
2 things from Best Buy
Kohls
Etsy

Loser:

I had one order cancel through Amazon, but they didn't inform me until after I did tried to use the tracking number through UPS. I had to scramble at the last minute to get something to replace it and have it shipped here in time. Best Buy saved the day, and thankfully I missed the whole backordered stuff, and it took forever for Amazon to refund my money.

Top two:
Amazon and Target. Amazon can't be beat especially when you're a Prime member and Target's gift card deals plus coupon policyakes these two top in my book hands down.

Best Buy gets points for having the best prices on new Blu Rays the day they came out and $10 gift card for the new Zelda.

TRU-scored Leap Pad App cards that were worth double for $18. They were mismarked but the manager gave them to me anyway. They lose points for not giving me a way to change the address on my Rewards card. It's been one huge circle of no results and has put me off them.

Walmart's sales were a joke but they get points for having LaLaloosy Silly Hair when it seemed no one else in the US did. Sent a few out to some friends.

Worst-The Disney Store, they had NOTHING and never did get things in. Finally have up and bought from an outside seller.

I did a lot of online shopping.

Best was Amazon. Hands down. Always get my stuff on time and I ordered most of my stuff from them. Even ordered 2 bed in a bags on 12/19 and had them on my door step 12/23. Talk about last minute shopping.

Boscov's it's a department store. Got a $300 leather jacket for my husband for $90 on Black Friday.

Target, the store. Got some good deals there.

Walmart.com had a game on sale that I wanted for both my kids and so I had it shipped to store and got it in good time.

Worst and I mean I will never buy from them again worst.
Target.com. Bought 2 bed in a bags on black Friday. They kept delaying them and they were suppose to be here by the 19. We called. They canceled my order and never notified me. I was mad. I had to then find 2 replacements and it wasn't easy but thankfully Amazon.com came through.

Winners:

Amazon- bought lots of stuff there
Best Buy- xbox game deals (did store pickup, which by the way was very quick and smooth)

Target- used $10 off coupon for xbox controller and $10 gc with $50 purchase

Losers:
Walmart- bought one gift there, nothing else that exciting
Kohls- nothing to exciting. Did use the $10 email gift for my son to buy his sister a gift.

Winners for us were

Wal-Mart - I ordered several things online and used "same day store pickup" -it rocked! I got 2 Harry Potter Lego sets each was $10 cheaper online than in the stores! So by just ordering online then going in to pick it up I saved $$!

Craigslist - odd I know. I've gotten into listing a lot of things on CL - decluttering and making $$ at the same time. I decided to start searching for things on CL that were harder to find. Bought dh a Mickey Waffle maker - total hit! And DD several Pocahontas things that are no longer in stores - score!

Other than that I tend to buy people gift cards so they can get what they want so no 'losers' in terms of stores.

Big Winners:
Amazon. Quick, efficient, great prices. Free shipping even though my total order originated from 3 different storefronts in 3 different locations. Amazing coordination and lightning fast and efficient!
Lands End. Free shipping, great prices. Love their quality. Always something useful for gifting to someone.
everythingkitchens.com. Best prices on kitchen essentials and electrics, free shipping for most orders. Great selection of quality products, great packing, quick delivery. This is my second year of great results with them.
QVC. Ordered some items that came in just a few days. Amazing.

Losers:
Big box stores. Guess my wins were all online stores. Macy's, Target, Walmart, which I visited in person, didn't excite me with anything in particular. Target had something online in their weekly ad which didn't appear on sale in the store. Employee was listening to my plight but had no help to offer. Walmart and Target were pretty much like, "you're on your own, good luck finding something."

Well I actually most of my holiday shopping this year was for myself. I transitioned from scrubs to dress clothes for work 3 months ago and am trying to build a wardrobe. I found some amazing deals, and got some nice, good quality stuff.

My biggest winner was Younkers. I'm not sure what cities all have this store. It's kind of a mini Macy's. They had $10 off $25 in the papers, sent to my home, sent to my e-mail and I was even given another to use when one of my purchases was over $50. On top of this they had awesome sale prices. I got some really stylish, quality clothes and shoes for work. Also got two great black friday buys . . . a Waring toaster for $10, and two stainless steel Cuisinart trash cans for $30.

Biggest loser is Kohls. The sales and deals are great, but the products are garbage. The clothes are just awful. I have found a few peiecs over the years there that I love, but for the most part the clothes and the shoes are very low quailty. This season has been no different. I didn't find anything there this year that I wanted to gift.

I had great experiences everywhere:

Walmart (am I the only one with a positive for Walmart? LOL) - I price matched two DSi's for my girls - and got them for about 50% off!

Target - 3DS with a Gift Card, another gift card coupon deal, got all our stocking stuffers here

The Disney Store online - great sales, free shipping, got three sets of gifts here!

Amazon - Books, DVDs, Video Games - Can't beat Amazon! It's just too easy.

Really, I have nothing negative to say. We're having a smallish Christmas, and I was mostly done shopping before Thanksgiving.

Are you sure it was Amazon? or was it a third party selling on Amazon?
