YOUR OPINIION priceline during winter

Wanted your input about Priceline and winter travel. I have no problem to rent a car from Priceline. But I live in Wisconsin and plan to travel to the southwest in January. I am concerned about flight delays due to winter storms. any opinions /experiences?

Are the regular rental rates very high for your dates? Due to the flexibility of renting directly, I don't suggest Priceline unless rates are very high.

Yes the rates are not good, coupons dont help as much as I want them to. Phoenix is just a high market. Maybe I will find my best rate and book it and if the weather is good make the priceline purchase when I see the weather report and feel safe to do that.
