Very very very last minute trip, big change from hawaii to disney as a surprise to my daughter. booked pop century with my interline discount, so dining plan not an option for me if i want my discount. I need you experts to spend $800.00 strictly for food for 5 days, I plan on Magic Kingdom two days and the other parks only one day, no water parks. Please give me where I need to eat under this amount and this amount only. 2 Adults one child, only one character dinner is booked for my birthday and I want to keep that one only. HELP I beg of you!!! :scared1:

Pop Century 09/26/07

I will try and come up with some for you. What kinds of food do you like? Also what about breakfast?

You each get to spend $17.70 per meal - including tax and everything.

If I were you, I'd hit the grocery store and eat a few meals in my room.

I can't tell you what to eat.

What are your dates and when and where is your character dinner planned? These are facts that I must have in order to accept this mission. Plus, is there anywhere that you REALLY want to go other than the one meal you have already planned? Is the cost of that meal to be included in the budget of $800?

hmmmmm....i like most anything, my hubby on the other hand is a vegetarian!!! we love buffets, so that might be our best bet, and we will do breakfast at pop. I just want to do that one character dining and no the 800 does not include that, it's a seperate transaction since that is my bday dinner.

dates 09/26/07-10/02/07 the 26th and 02nd money is also seperate, so i'm worried about the dates inbetween.

chef mickey's for dinner is my one big meal!!

Definitely do Earl of Sandwich and a Charachter breakfast (o'hana or Breakfast with Donald at AK) you get lots of food ther for not so much money.

I would do more buffet seeing you like them and there usually all inclusive. Breakfast and lunch are cheaper than dinner or course. You should have no problem staying in your budget. We go for 10 nights and usually spend $1200 for food.
My advice would be to write down a few places you want to eat and get on the phone ASAP w/ DD and see what is avalible. I know a lot of places are booked up for this time frame.
Also portion sizes are rather large so spliting meals for breakfast is a good option. I usually share my meal w/ my DD (6). Try eating breakfast @ PoP and then having an early dinner or late lunch seeing the prices are cheaper then.
Hope this helps. If you could give us a little more info in what you like it would help.

hawaii to WDW... Im so excited for you!!! :) How old is your daughter?

If my math is right that would be $160. per day for your entire party. I think thats totally doable if you were going to do the DDP...(The Disney Dining plan (regular 07) would have been for the adults (1) CS (1) TS and (1) snack each) so think of eating the same way only cutting back snacks and if you can share a meal that would help.

some tips: Remember Lunch is usually cheaper then dinner prices so try and book late lunches. Also if you can, pack snacks for you and your family. Some places have giant portions so splitting something is a way to save as well.

Eating CS around the world in Epcot is always fun and you get to experience something small from all over.

The bakeries around WDW are great eating options (from bagels to sandwiches).

Also if you go to the dining section on Dis - check out the menu's- there is a section for price range- there are a ton of restaurants that fit within your price range.
I think you will be fine!

No worries and ENJOY your stay! you will have a blast!

Well buffets are fine with us I think, so which ones and where. If there are none in the parks, then let's eliminate those. I really don't want to go from hotel to hotel, maybe next year when I plan on a 10 night stay with hopefully cross my fingers free dining. I really don't want to do anymore character dinners or etc, I would love cinderella castle, but they are booked but I will keep calling. :wizard: We love chinese, mexican, indian (i'm dreaming), pizza!!! Let me know the cheapest eats in each park, then I think I can go from there!

So Teresa...

If I understand you correctly...you want to know what we would advise you to do for 5 days worth of dining on $800? You need suggestions for the 27, 28, 29 30 of September...and the 1st of October only because you have the 26 of Sep and the 2 of Oct covered already?

...also, how old is your DD?

Jo

I think with $160 per day to spend on food it is totally possible to expect a TS mean and a CS meal each day, allowing about $20. per day for a full breakfast for 3 (2 adults and 1 child) at POP each day.

The $20 breakfast price is based on your having bought refillable mugs upon arrival at Pop.

For example: On your day at Epcot, you could eat a CS meal for lunch at Lotus Blossom Cafe and have...

Vegetarian Stir Fry w/ Steamed Rice $7.49
Orange Chicken w/ Steamed Rice $7.49
I order of egg rolls (2) $3.99
Child's Beijing BBQ Drumstick w/ Rice & applesauce $5.95
2 soft drinks $4.78
1 smoothie(for child) $3.99

Total $33.69 + tax

Dinner at Rose and Crown...

Vegetable Pot Pie $12.99
Fish and Chips $15.99
Potato and Leek Soup $4.99 (x 2 = $9.98)
Average Dessert $5.50 (x2 = $11.00)
Kid's Pick Meal $7.49 (this includes dessert for the child)

Total $57.45 + tax and tip

Your approximate total for your Epcot day, including tax and tip would be $135.00. This total includes the $20.00 I've averaged for a full breakfast at Pop.

The most expensive day I considered was your AK day eating lunch at Pizzafari and dinner at Rainforest cafe. Including breakfast at Pop, your approximate total still came in at just under the $160 mark ($158).

I also looked at 50's Prime Time for dinner and ABC Commisary (they seem to have a fair selection of vegetarian choices) for lunch on your MGM day. Including breakfast at Pop, your approximate total for the day was $145.

For MK, I considered lunch at Tony's Town Square and dinner at Columbia Harbour House. Approximate total for that day was $125, including breakfast at Pop.

This was fun. Hope you have a great trip!

It is impossible to tell someone where to eat. I would suggest taking a look at the menus for all the restaurant at WDW right her on the DIS atWalt Disney World Dining

You should have no problems in staying within your budget. However, given the late timing you may have trouble getting ADRs for TS meals.

Have a great trip!

yup just those days, the 26th is arrival, we are just going to buzz around pop and get familiar. the 2nd is just breakfast before our flight home. the other days are disney woot! my dd is 8.

Which parks are you going to an those days? I'm sure people have several ideas, but the suggestions are somewhat dependent on where you are headed each day. If you're not sure of this, where are you going the first day at least?

...and (I hope I'm remembering this right)..this is your daughter's first visit to Disney? Yours/Eric's also?

Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness is priced quite reasonably and the breakfast buffet was fabulous (DH wants to go back this year). Last year, I was able to walk-in for breakfast the day after Thanksgiving.

I was trying to see which ones to go to on a certain website but it will only show me the 27th. I'm totally clueless as to which day this or that park is better to go to. For sure Monday the 1st will be magic kingdom to end our trip right. Any suggestions?? Yup this is our very first trippie!!!! The first day is thursday and according to that website mentioned it says to avoid magic kingdom, so our second choice is epcot. ohhhh lord help me! I think* I have where we will go for mgm. But other then that, ugh!

Ya know if you booked the dining plan the three of you can eat for $445 (2 adults 38.99 each and 1 child 10.99 for 5 days = $444.85)

Are you saving more than that with your discount? Keeping in mind that the $445 includes the character meal that you are counting seperate from the $800.
