Hi there guys and girls:wave2: we are trying to get our heads around some resort options for a possible holiday next summer and we would appreciate some input from you if you would be so kind.

Which resort out of the following would you pick for a 2 week stay and why ?
Yacht Club \ Beach Club either one a garden view room
POFQ river view room
Or Wilderness Lodge courtyard view.

We loved POFQ but we are thinking of possibly spending a bit more and trying a deluxe resort. It's giving us so many possible benefits for each location it's a hard choice . The only park we don't really spend lots of time in is Animal Kingdom but we like it, we just spend more time in the other parks and at downtown Disney.

Thanks for reading :thanks:

Since you are staying 2 weeks, what about a split stay? We are staying at WL this next time and can't wait--if I was staying two weeks I would probably definitely split stay if possible :). haven't been there but love the videos on youtube I have seen.

I'd to a BC/WL Split :)

If you HAVE to choose one I'd go with WL I think

hmm maybe I'd go with BC. See how this becomes a problem?

First let me say what excellent options you have to pick from. Before you decide, you need to think about what you are looking for in your next trip in order to make the right choice.

If you want to be within walking distance of 2 parks, have access to Storm Along Bay and be near the excitement of the Boardwalk area, then narrow your choice to either Beach or Yacht.

If you want to be a boat ride away from MK and have a more relaxed stay with a outdoor/woodsy theme, then pick Wilderness.

Since you already had the pleasure of staying at POFQ, and you are willing to take on the extra expense of trying deluxe, I'd suggest going with a resort you have not yet stayed at.

To help with your decision, you might want to check out pictures of each of the resorts (check them out in the resorts threads or Allears).

If all else fails and you can't decide, why not try a split stay and do one week at WL and one week at either Yacht or Beach? That way you get to try each area in the same trip!

Have fun with your planning and enjoy your trip whatever you decide:goodvibes

Yacht/Beach Club. Awesome pool, gorgeous area. It's at the top of my places to stay list, with the Poly. You could also do a split stay, 1 week one place, the 2nd at another resort.

We have stayed at BWV and WL and this is my analysis ...

The Epcot area feels very "urban" there are a lot of hotels in close proximilty with lots of sidewalks. If you love to eat at Epcot and have park hoppers, I think the easiest QS meals are in Epcot, otherwise, there are not a lot of easy options for a quick meal especially at breakfast and other meals at the Epcot resorts. I love the boat rides to EP and HS.

I love WL - I love that you feel isolated from the other hotels surrounded by nature. And yet, you can quickly get on a boat to MK or Cont more for "excitement". Roaring Forks is adequate for a quick meal. We love sitting in the hot tub looking up at the beautiful hotel in the evening.

I agree with PP that a split stay is ideal for you. For me 15 days at WL would be heaven.

YC/BC hands down any day of the week - Best pool on property with Stormalong Bay, great location within walking distance or a boat ride to both Epcot and DHS, evening entertainment easily available at the Boardwalk and close proximity to a lot of great WDW restaurants at YC, S/D, Epcot, etc. I think the location alone would win it but the pool really seals the deal.

i couldn't do BC for 14 days. I love BC and the pool but 5 or so days there is my limit. The sharing of buses for AK and MK make me crazy. I love it for DHS and Epcot days however so I like to plan my split stays so I can be a different resort when I plan on going to MK and AK and use BC solely as Epcot and DHS

I'd personally choose POFQ because in my opinion, POFQ is the best resort. But if you want to spend some more money on deluxe, I recommend the Yacht Club because room service is great, it has the best pool, you can walk to both DHS and Epcot in 10 minutes, and its in the best resort area. Plus you have access to the boat also.:)

First let me say that the idea of a split stay terrifies me. I can't imagine having to pack up in the middle of my vacation to move to another resort. So I can't really recommend that. I love the location of BC/YC for it's proximity to Epcot and HS. I am really not a fan of the location of WL. I love POFQ for a lot of reasons but for a stay of that length I think the room size is a factor against it. You are talking about being there during the summer so I have to point out a few additional negatives about WL. The pool at WL is very small and during the summer it gets very crowded. I have walked around that pool looking for a chair to sit in for 20 minutes with nothing becoming available. If you are looking for some serious pool time (and with a stay that long I assume you are) WL doesn't cut it. I also had issues with the transportation at WL as it shares with other resorts and that creates very full busses. H/e WL does offer better quick service food options, especially for breakfast YC/BC dining options are the best, if you are not looking for Quick Service, from buffets to table service.

That is just my humble opinion.

Yacht Club, hands down. First of all, the hotel is absolutely beautiful. When you're waiting for a boat to go back "home" from the Boardwalk, and you see it lit up at night...breathtaking.

Epcot is my favorite park. I love being able to walk to the International Gateway. It's also night to be in close proximity to DHS. The less time I spend on a Disney bus, the better.:rotfl2:

Stormalong Bay is AWESOME!!! It's so much fun to go down the slide and play all day. For the kids, of course. Not that I did that on my solo trip or anything.:rolleyes1

You're near Beaches and Cream. Need I say more?

YC/BC for the whole two weeks or split between YC/BC and POFQ.

We love the Epcot resorts and have been to both YC and BC also BW. We liked the YC but our favorite is BC. We actually book at the villas. If you are staying 2 weeks you could consider renting points for a 2 bedroom villa at the BC and it would give you so much more room than a regular resort room. You would have a kitchen to have snacks, quick breakfast, and drinks handy. You would also have a w/d in the room so you could do laundry and not have to return home with all that laundry - also lets you pack less. We love the villas - you still have use of all the pools and things that the BC has to offer.

I vote for POFQ. The grounds are beautiful, the CM's seem to be extra special, and the resort is a fantastic size. Everything is very close. The boat to DTD and POR is also a nice touch. I have never tried the carriage ride, but hope to someday.

I am a big POFQ lover, and I vote for that resort!

I would do the BC/Poly. We've done a few split stays and it was a breeze, the resort will transfer your luggage to your new resort. Enjoy your trip, I'm jealous!

Well we read your replies with interest and then checked out the prices from here in the UK.

We found that with Walt Disney Travel Company they gave a discount off at the Yacht Club of around £200 Or $316 plus the free gift card and free dining so we have booked a water/pool view room with park tickets and dining plan for next August. We are planning a couple of days outside of WDW parks .

Just need to arrange flights in a few months time and transport to our preferred airport and overnight stay so we will be nicely refreshed to travel :disrocks:

Don't split your time! My gosh packing up your stuff and moving during the middle of your vacation? Nah.

Yacht or Beach is my choice. You can walk around the Boardwalk...that bakery is awesome! You can walk and check out the other resorts, gift shops and plenty of resturants to choose from - all within walking distance. You can walk to Epcot and Disney Studios...or take a boat. You can rent a bike and cycle around if you like...

We like that WL seems away from everything. It feels like you are in the midst of everything but a nice escape as well. It's a beautiful property and is less traveled through.
