When I started driving, I drove a 92 Mercury Sable that belonged to my parents. That one died in an accident, and was replaced with a 90 Chrysler New Yorker (big old boaty car) ... Very comfortable to drive, but hard to park. They added a 95 Mercury Tracer to the fleet, which is great in city (and tiny), but is horrible for long drives.
There were also times when I had to drive my dad's minivan (other cars were being repaired, or moving a lot of stuff, etc).
When I finally got my own car (summer of 2002, started driving in fall of 1998), I got a 2002 Honda Civic. It's a great little car. Great gas mileage, very roomy (even with 4 or 5 people in it, nobody ever complains about leg room), and enough space in the trunk to put my hockey equipment (well, except for the sticks) Even managed to get a fridge in the car, going to school last year. (the border guard going into Canada was a bit miffed ... "You have a refrigerator ... in a Honda Civic? Have a nice day")
