... for each park! Any resort faves?? With the dining option we will be doing more sitdown for our trip next year(mostly dinner)... I added the counter service as an afterthought... if you really liked any of them please tell me!!

Wow, here I go!

* MK - Cinderella's Castle and Crystal Palace
* AK - Pizzasafari (sp??)
* Epcot - The Land and Italy (World Showcase)
* MGM - The Brown Derby
* DTD - Wolfgang Puck's, Fulton's, and Earl of Sandwich

Have fun!

Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom was wonderful when we went last year and my bf loved Teppanyaki in Japan. Have fun planning!!

PS Almost forgot Wolf Gang Punk in Downtown was also great food, would definitely recommend.

MK - Columbia Harbor Hourse and LTT for sit down lunch. Haven't been for dinner though.
MGM - terrible counter service options, usually end up at Backlot Express. We aren't impressed with any sit down in MGM.
Epcot - Fish N Chips in England, Le Cellier for a sit down.
AK - Flame tree or Tusker House.

Most of the really good food isn't in the parks. California Grill, Flying Fish and Jiko come to mind..

Not sure if there are two of each in each park I would recommend, but here goes:

MK: Crystal Palace and Cinderella's Royal Table; Peco Bill's and Cosmic Ray's
MGM: 50's Primetime Cafe; Backlot Express and Toy Story Pizza Planet
AK: Tusker House and Pizzafari
Epcot: Biergarten and Le Cellier and San Angel Inn; Sunshine Food Fair
Resorts: Cape May Cafe, Ohana, Olivia's, Boma, Mara

MK--Crystal Palace (breakfast); Cosmic Ray's and Columbia Harbour House

Epcot--Alfredo's; Tangeriene Cafe and the French Bakery

AK--Tusker House

MGM--Brown Derby and the Backlot Express

I agree that MGM has the worst restaurant selections. I would go over to the Boardwalk or to one of the other Epcot area resorts to eat.

The best counter service is Cosmic Ray's--great burgers and roasted chicken meal. Columbia Harbour House has good veggie chili, plus the usuals, and a nice quiet place to sit upstairs. The Tangeriene Cafe is good, quick ethnic food.

WDW Dolphin- Fresh
AKL- Jiko

AK- Tusker House
MK- Pecos Bills

Hmmmm...

Harbor House for counter service (I'm confused why did dine Junkie call it sit down?) and there is one at Epcot in Future world...the name escapes me. Great sandwiches. Landing Pad maybe? Or Rose & Crown fish & chip counter.

Teppenyaki for sit down with out a doubt. And I am a fan of Planet Hollywood...I like comfort food

We have never done a lot of eating onsite while vacationing but I will give my favorites.

MK:
Sit down - Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table (will this count?)
Counter Service - Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills

MGM:
Sit down - Hollywood & Vine, would like to try 50's Prime Time & Mama Melrose
Counter Service - Rosie's, Catalina Eddie's

Animal Kingdom:
Sit down - Rain Forest, Donald's Breakfastsaurus
Counter Service - Flame Tree BBQ, Pizzafari

Epcot:
Sit down - Have not eaten sit down here but have always wanted to try Le Cellier
Counter Service - Liberty Inn, Electric Umbrella

As for the resorts:
Whispering Canyon Cafe, ESPN Club, & Chef Mickey's for sit down
Pepper Market, Beaches & Cream for Counter Service

Lori

For park restaurants, probably my only "favorite" would be Mama Melrose at MGM. Ive found I prefer the resort restaurants much more.
Some of those favorites, depending what we are looking for(casual, bar food, nicer, etc...) are...
Kona Cafe
Ohana
ESPN
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Chef Mickeys & Boma for breakfast

MK---sit down--Crystal Palace counterservice---either Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays

Epcot---sit down--Biergarten or Garden Grille Counter service---food court at the Land or Mexico

AK---Sit down--Rainforest Cafe counter service---tusker house or Restrauntasaurus.

MGM---sit down--Hollywood and vine counter service---ABC Comissary or the one between Indiana Jones and Star tours.

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern

MGM - Prime Time 50's (never had a really outstanding meal at MGM)

Epcot - Chef de France & San Angel Inn (never had a bad meal at Epcot)

AK - Chakranandi Chicken Shack (only counter service that gets a mention from us...everything else is pretty much the same.)

Also like Kona's (Poly) for breakfast, Concourse Steak House (CR), and Boma's (AKL)

Wolfgang Puck's a favorite in DD.

Got to forgive me if this comes off Sounding pretensious, it's not ment to be.... We live in Montreal, and we are blessed with many excellent restaurants (as many large cities are). Competition means good deals to be had....

I find that the food in WDW simply does not compete dollar for dollar. There are without a doubt some superb establishments, but they are not offered at market price to their captive audience.

So, we search out the different and worthy, and for us that is (CAUTION YMMV)

**Understand that our kids are young (6 & 8) and we will eat for their enjoyment with a compromise/balance for our satisfaction.

MK - Counter Service - Cosmic Rays - Decent and different selection
Sit Down - LTT for Lunch (have not been there for dinner)

AK - Counter Service - Flame Tree BBQ
Sit down - No Idea

MGM - Counter Service - ABC Commissary (Pretty good fish and chips)
Sit Down - 50's Prime Time Cafe or Mama Melrose

Epcot - Counter Service - Mexican Cantina (Decent food but, ohhhhh those frozen margaritas during our Aug trips....)
Sit down - Rose and Crown (Mostly for environment and view of illuminations)

Hmmm...

MK...Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner and Plaza Pavillion for lunch(yes, that makes me very different!)

Epcot...LeCellier for dinner, Electric Umbrella for lunch

MGM...50s P/T for dinner (and that's an iffy one. I'm not crazy about food choices here) and we have never had counter service here.

AK...love Donald's Breakfastasaurus and haven't done counter service

Also really like...Garden Grill, Marrakesh, Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Yachtsman, Spoodles, LTT, Columbia Harbor House, Boma (a lot!), Kona Cafe for breakfast

I thought of a few counter service that we really enjoy...

Main St Bake shop for breakfast...Need I say more? ;)

Pizza Planet in MGM... Love the salad and pizza is pretty good too. The kids love burning off some steam in the arcade and the theming is cute.

Liberty Inn, in Epcot...Pretty good burgers, dogs, & fries and we like the fixins bar

MK: Crystal Palace (lunch or dinner) and LTT (lunch)
MK: Pecos Bill and Columbia Harbour House

AK: Rainforest
AK: Never had counter at AK

Epcot: Le Cellier (favorite on site restaurant of all time!)
Epcot: Fountainview and Patisserie

MGM: Mama Melrose (only restaurant we will eat in at MGM)

Resorts: Beaches-n-Cream
Kona
Boma
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Trail's End

MK - Liberty Tree for lunch (dinner is blah) and Pecos Bills
Epcot - Le Cellier for full service and Tangerine Cafe for counter service
MGM - Brown Derby for full service. I don't like any of their counter service.
AK - I despise Rainforest, so I'll go with two counter service - Flame Tree BBQ and Tusker House

Looks like my post was confusing. I meant Columbia Harbor House for counter service and LTT for sitdown lunch in the MK.

Hmmm....

MK - Pecos Bill is my favorite counter service (love that toppings bar) and we haven't eaten at any sit-down restaurants besides Tony's which I thought was just ok.

AK - Tusker House rocks.

MGM - Pizza Planet, Mama Melrose's

Epcot - would the Fish 'N Chips place in England count as counter service? Sit-down is a tie between Rose & Crown and Le Celier.

Didn't see any mention of the Plaza Restaurant at MK - it is tiny inside and you usually need a PS. We thought the food there was very good to excellent, especially the shakes. Service was outstanding.
