On all of our previous Disney trips, DH and I rush down Main St. as we look at it longingly over our shoulder and run full speed to the back of the park. Next trip we want to stroll and explore Main St. What are YOUR favorite parts of Main St.? I am pretty oblivious to any of it as it has all been a big blur!

There is so much disney detail along Main Street. Look at the signs to see how Disney has honored important people in it's creation. Turn down the side street by the candy shop to hear piano lessons from a second story window. If you really want to slow down and learn a lot about how and why Main Street is the way it is, take the Keys to the Kingdom tour.

Have fun!

I just love taking time to look at everything! I just love the sounds (piped music) and smell. The dancers are great too!

I agree with the previous poster, the detail is amazing. This trip I was even more impressed with all of the Christmas decorations along Main Street, beautiful!

This past trip I rediscovered the Exposition Hall. When you are standing outside the park facing the train station, enter the right side...once you cross under the train station tunnel, the Exposition Hall is on your right, next to Tony's Restaurante. Oh, the open area next to the Exposition Hall is a great place for character meet and greets.

When you enter the hall, wander past the camera shop and you will find a hall way that leads to an area in the back. There is a movie theatre here that shows old Disney cartoons. There is other stuff in the hallway too. I'm told that behind one of the curtains in the hallway is one of the old vehicles in the 'Mr. Toad's Wild Ride'...If no one is looking, take a peek and grab a quick pic. :rolleyes1

Main Street represents everything I want in a street...it's safe, clean, pretty, and you can walk without being hit by a car. I want to live on Main Street...it's my most favorite place in WDW.

:offtopic: well this isn't dinsey

sorry it was a dare

I like the steet performers, not just the musicians, who are fabulous, but also the "mayor" was a hoot! We also enjoy eating at Tony's which is never crowded and has a nice atmosphere.

Take a carriage or trolly ride down Main Street. It's so much fun to do something so old-fashioned. Also check out the candy store. It's my favorite place, because I have so many memories of my dad buying us rock candy to eat during our trip. Definitely take the time to check it all out. Also, stroll through Liberty Square. The detail there is nice as well. I love to look at everything in Adventureland, also... such pretty buildings. Ok, I'm going overboard... I just love MK!

Walking down Main Street towards the Castle, check out Casey's. Great hotdogs. My family usually makes it the last stop of the night. We grab a couple of dogs and grab a table near the street and watch the people go by and the castle change colors. After most of the crowd has cleared out, we wander out an empty Main Street to the buses.

I like looking at the windows on the "2nd level" of the stores to see! i love watching the dancers that are on the trolley. Seeing the Mayor of WDW is great as he is well acquainted with all the other mayors in the US ;) :rotfl: .

I enjoy seeing Scoop Sanderson walking his dogs, . if you are into pins you can also find Scoop doing pin talks at 1pm in the back of Exposition HAll. be sure to chekc at city hall if he will be doing his talk! Some times there might be BIg news to get reports on so he is off catching the SCOOP!

Just walking down main st and people watch is fun! remembering what used to be where is fun too especially if you were there in the 70's and 80's inot the 90's before all the changes.

The truth is, there are 2 things that I *really* notice~ First, is that Cinderella Castle is right down the way :Pinkbounc :woohoo: Second~ The smells :cloud9: The candy shop, and the bakery  I just cant think of anything in the world that smells like mainstreet :lovestruc

My favorite part of MS is the Confectionary. I stock up on candy, fudge, krispie squares etc when there.

Like other people of said it is the smell and the little antique stores that are full of magic with the disney merchandise. I love strolling through the candy store after wishes and the park is emptying out. I feel that main street is the beginning of the magic which ends at the castle :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Outside, the exteriors of the buildings still look perfect and the smells still smell great.

Inside, sadly, other than picking up an ice cream cone on my way out, the parts of Main Street that I loved don't exist anymore -- the Penny Arcade (where you really could do some of the machines for a penny), the magic shop / joke shop, the Main Street Cinema, even the candy shop had a different feel to it. Now, Main Street is just one big Disney store.

Main Street in the MK is my favorite part about the park. The smells, buildings and shops are awesome!

I love the music...it sets the whole Disney mood for me and makes me so excited to see the Magic Kingdom!

Main street is my favorite part of MK, I only wish it still had the old time movies and the penny arcade.
