Your favorite teacher doesn't always have to be a teacher. I just wrote down some feelings, thoughts that had been bubbling up in my head about a man that until now I didn't know was my favorite teacher. I want as many people as possible to see what I wrote, and I want you all to think if you have someone like this in your life.

Jon Simsic is one of those people that when he opens his mouth to talk or even to sing, you listen. Not always because he has the power to yell at you or kick you out of the show, because sometimes he doesn't have that power. You listen to Jon because you know when he talks, you'll learn something. Its not always relevant at the time and you may not ever need it again. You always know though that if you're not listening all the time that one time he says something, that you learn, that could change your life, or at least your grade point average, you'll miss it. You always listen to Jon Simsic because if you don't you don't know what you could learn, with just one sentence, definition or big, five syllable, word. He's a teacher, tutor, elder, whatever you'd like to call him or even, dare I say it, friend. He knows his boundaries, when to be fun and when to work and what can be fun while working. He walks around with this poise about him, almost as if he knows what life is about, what you don't know. I look up to this man, aspire to know the things he knows, and achieve the feats he's achieved. I know this sounds like a school essay. Its not. Its all just why Jon Simsic is my favorite teacher.

That was really powerful.

My language arts teacher is just like that.

I had a teacher that was not only an educator, but he was a friend, a mentor, a guide, a tutor, a comic, an artist, entertainment, but with all of that, he was just another person. He didn't have that aloofness that most teacher get. He could sit down and talk to you, one on one. He was a friend of mine. I'm a better person for having him in my life.

This is exactly how I feel about Jon.

My science teacher is like that.

One day I came to school (the day after my uncle died) and I apparently looked very depressed and sad. He pulled up a chair next to me and like a person asked what was wrong. I was not embarresed to pour my feelings out to him. I cried like a baby, but it wasn't awkward like with most teachers. Even when he is just up there teaching he has this down to earthness to him. You are not afraid to be crazy fun in his class, but you also know you should get down to work. He treats us like his peers not like little children. He tells us his stories and jokes without hesitation. Like you guys said he is not only a teacher but a mentor, comic, wiseman, and perhaps not a friend but just an all together person that I admire. That is why Steve Arnold is my favorite teacher.

My algebra teacher was such a good teacher.

I actually had a dream about him last night. o.O

MR.LINCOLN!! YESS! MOST AMAZING TEACHER EVER..Haha hes a new teacher and doesn't know much, but makes everything fun

My P.E teacher is awesome because she is so crazy/serious and she asks me how I am feelin every morning

My favorite teachers were my 8th grade history teacher, Mr. Miller and my 9th grade history teacher, Ms. Mills. They made me love history, and were so energetic in their teaching modes and I loved every moment of it. Mr. Miller was always crazy, and Ms. Mills always had witty one liners she always said to us. True, Ms. Mills was one of the hardest teachers I had in high school, but she was the best.
The two of them had such an impact on me that I am now going to be majoring is history in college. :)

And so far, my favorite professor has been my Opera professor, Kathleen. She's an amazing vocalist, and even from only a month of classes, has taught me SO much about how to further my vocal training and help my voice. She makes class fun, and I feel like I can go to her for anything. :)

My Calculus teacher, most definitely. She is very in tuned to how we're feeling, and she also helps us individually. There is only 10 of us in her class.

I love my colorguard teacher and my english teacher there so much fun and you can talk to them about anything.

I think you have to feel this comfortable with people for them to become your favorite teacher. My science teacher was like this last year also, he's a close secon. Jon never hesitates to tell us stories or jokes. I think his teaching style is amazing.

Yes exactly how I feel.

My tech teacher.
He's amazing, he could do some sort of 'how to make moving speeches classes.'
We get preached every class about how important life is, how there is no such thing as an accident, and stuff like that. He just wants us to get the most out of life, and he truly cares about where we go in life. He's said once, he's had to go to one students funeral, and that; was one to many. One more than he could bare.

Ok, that's really really scary... my dad's friend is Mr. Steve Arnold & he's a science teacher... incredibly nice man... totally devoted to helping you every step of every task you feel the need to tackle... he's got two daughters... Same!?

My 6th grade teacher was like that... we were best friends.. me being 11/12 and her being 50 it was weird... I remember just talking like "normal people" and she knew a little more about me than my parents at that time.... It wasn't the best part of my life then... lots of bad stuff happening...

my US history teacher, by far.
hes 24.
and he went to tiawana over spring break, so our class bought his shot glasses that said "i get S*** faced, what do you do?"

and he gives us extra credit if we burn him cd's, cuz someone broke into his car and stole all his cd's..and his basket ball shorts :rotfl:

he makes everything fun, its just awesome.
the reason i actually go to school. :goodvibes

I have had two standouts for my favorite teachers.

My Elementary Music Teacher: She always inspired me to go on with my dreams.

My History Teacher: What's not to say? She is a great teacher, a comic, and a sarcastic person. :)

I feel that way about my Algebra teacher Mrs. Floyd. She is just soooooooo cool. She is young and she really connects with us and understands what we are saying. She always tries to help everybody out even with things that are outside of school. She is my favorite teacher. :teacher:
