Your favorite sweet and fruity wine....

I like the Rosemont Estates Traminer Reisling from Australia

or there is a winery in the Okanagan in British Columbia called Elephant Island that makes fruit wines. They are not your typical fruit wines in that they are not sickly sweet, they taste like wine made from grapes. My favourite is the Blackcurrant, which is similar to a merlot. Or the pear.

I had Miscato (I think that is how you spell it) at the Olive Garden the other day. It was yummy!:goodvibes

Muscato, very sweet, as is Muscat. We have a bottle of Muscat in the fridge right now. :) These are both more like dessert wines, they might be too sweet to have with a meal but they are good for a quick sweet shot after.

A good sweet white is the german Gerwurstraminer. Enjoy!! :drinking1

I want to try one of these, it sounds so good!!

OP avoid Cabs and Merlots, they are NOT sweet in any way, they are dry reds. When we go tasting I tend to avoid the reds completely. I'm not much of a red fan, I like whites and blushes. I really enjoy a good White Zin, Barefoot and Beringer make good ones, we also really like Reisling, Chateau St Michelle & Robert Mondavi make very good Reislings. I would definitely steer towards Reisling if you're looking for sweet.

moscato/muscato/muscat - no matter how you spell it, muscadine wines are sweet fruity wines...

One of my favorites is the sweet white wine served at Palo on the Disney Cruises ( if this is still the case) This Moscato by Trentino, a small winery in Italy, is harder to find in the states, but can be ordered, at a price, by ordering a case/box of six bottles. We actually found a restaurant in Asheville NC that had this Trentino, a few years ago... we bought a bottle to bring home.

Barefoot makes a good white sweet muscato...
Have some in the fridge right now.

We also enjoy white/blush wines from a great local winery.
A wine tasting at a local winery is always a good place to try!

PS: usually one is either a white wine person, or a red...
The reds have more tannins and properties in them that can be bitter to some palates (like mine).

We have found a couple Moscato D'Asti wines that we like. The Arbor Mist line is cheap and not bad, particularly their Sangria. But my FAVE is Rosa Regale', a sparkling red. :cloud9:

eta... and we rate Reislings as good and sweet, too

Dh and I had this wine when we took our cruise several years ago. I absolutely loved it and never got the name of it. Thanks for the info, now I at least know what to look for. :) :cool1:

I don't like dry wines, white or red, but I LOVE wine. I really like the Moscato's and Reislings.

this wont come out but it is a womans wine supposedly.....F-u-k-i plum wine...and it is delicious.....you can get it in epcot too Japan

.

Just to let you know, Moscato, Muscat is a white grape, grown in Italy for years and now everywhere in the world. Muscadine is a red grape, originally a wild grape in the South East US, lots of local wineries in the south make wonderful sweet wine from these grapes, not sure that it is available in all parts of the US in liqour stores. Really worth trying when you can find it.

Nevada City Winery - Gewurztraminer - This wine offers exotic aromas of flowers and spice. At 1.2% residual sugar, the wine is finished with a touch of sweetness but well-balanced with crisp acidity. Enjoy it as an aperitif or a variety of foods including Asian-style foods.

Indian Springs Winery - Moscato Bianco - This sweet/tart mistress of the vineyard swirls through your palate with vibrant aromas of daphne, honeysuckle and peach

Both lovely sweet wines at around $15 a bottle.
Nevada City, Ca

My favorite cheap wine is Mogen David Concord or Blackberry. I drink it often, you can get it at Target.

My favorites are the wines I get in the Smokey Mountains, I love peach wine or muscadines or Apple wine.

My favorite from EPCOT is from France, Barton & Guestier Sauternes. It is not as sweet as icewine, but definately a dessert wine. I don't always find it in regular stores, but have seen it at BevMo and Total Wine.

Barefoot makes a good white sweet muscato...

Barefoot Muscato is very good for being fairly inexpensive (less than $7). I usually keep a bottle around. I've tried quite a few brands since this is one of the few types of wine I like, and this is my favorite brand out of the under $20 category.

1. Lambrusco
2. Moscato D'Asti
3. Rosa Regale (my favorite and you can buy it at Epcot in Italy)

If you live north of Boston, I can tell you where to get it around here, too ;) AND they have another wine from the same vineyard (which I haven't tried yet).

Yes, Moscato is very sweet, light, and bubbly! It is an easy wine to drink for someone just starting out. I tend to think it is too sweet for me now, but I used to love it. My favorite brand is Bricco Riella. I like Rieslings, but they tend to be a little drier than moscatos. They are a good next step, though.GL and cheers!
