I'm going on the 3 day cruise and I have quite a few gifts I will need to get. WDW is never a problem .. I can always find cute things there for kids.

I will have to get things for boys and girls ... ranging in age from 4 to 15.

I also need to get a few adult gifs.

Just something small ... as a token.

I'm on a budget. Any ideas on what to be on the lookout for?
Deals you found?

Thanks

Kids - Beach towels...small rubber cruise ships or characters...pins...stickers....small plush characters...pillow case signed by characters...coloring book...key chains...

Adults - Mugs...pins...Screen saver....golf balls....hats....magnets....pens....books....picture frame (For family - with your picture copied at Kodak station after cruise using copyright release)...drink glasses that come with "drink of the day"...

Disney soaps and lotions from the bathrooms. SIL and I always send each other a set or two after we have been somewhere special.

Postcards! We took an address list and sent everyone post cards from the ports. Castaway Cay was the most fun because the stamps and postmark are so cool. Remember to send postcards to yourself and your kids from the cruise that they will receive two or three weeks after you return home!

Oh .. they have all that stuff in the shops on the Wonder??

For some reason I got the impression that they did not have hardly anything to buy on board .. cept expensive hats and t's.

Thanks!

Are you interested in just cruise stuff or stuff from Nassau too?

Beach towels and small plush characters are going to run some money. There's a bunch of Disney stuff that you could find in the Disney store or the Parks. Not much 'cruise line'.

I liked the cruise ship box filled with chocolate chip cookies. Also, they have the Disney character pens which I think are fun. Sometimes you can find stuff on sale. Pins run around 6-8 dollars.
I got shirts for $8.

Plan to spend a few minutes shopping on Castaway Cay - you can't get that stuff anywhere but there! They have cute Mickey scuba divers but I think they were like $12.

I saved all the "Pillow Chocolates" from the 7 night cruise and put them in a Disney glass and brought them to work for my co-workers! They loved them!

Mostly interested in Cruise stuff ... I have been to Nassau and was not impressed with the stuff there ..... unless I was missing something.

My kids loved the coloring books. I bought a few extra for my neices and some friends. I was surprised at how much they enjoyed them.Every time my kids color in them, they say it reminds them of the wonderful cruise they were on.
As for adults, I liked buying the disney pins. I bought the Disney Dreams pin.

There are two shops on both the Wonder and the Magic. They are called Mickey Mates and Tresure Ketch. Both stock many different, beautiful items. Mickey Mates has all kinds of small souveniers and DCL logo items, christmas ornagments, magnets, pins, beach towels, etc.

Treasure Ketch has more upscale things like Framed Art, jewelry, more expensive clothing, luggage, sundries, etc.\

There is lots to buy onboard!!!!

My favorite gift was one I bought for myself on our second Wonder cruise. It is a ceramic model of the ship. About 10 inches long, nicely detailed and very accurate for such a small scale of such a large ship. It sits on my desk at work as a constant reminder of 2 great trips.

Cost $25 at Mickey's Mates.

Have a great trip.

I have that model also....love it....I was lucky enough to get the Captain to date and sign it on our trip during the signing session.

We got a ship and had it signed too, and paid some larger bucks for one of the framed lithographs of the ship. The captain was infinitely patient and signed it too.

We took some of our own pictures on board, had them developed at Shutters (on board) and put them in some of the neat frames they offer on board. Relatives or friends my enjoy this.

My daughter made a new best friend on board and we gave her a picture of the two of them in a refrigerator magnet frame as we had breakfast together the last morning. I've got one too --- as they say...priceless!

Also, they take some pretty darn good photos on the ship and those make some great mementos. One of my pet peeves is the prices they charge, but I always buy a couple because they look so danged good.

On the inexpensive side, if you get a drink mug and use it on the trip, it doubles after a gift afterward! And there are ample opportunity to buy nice glasses as you drink the drink-of-the-day from them.

Also, buy an inexpensive hat or shirt (inexpensive being relative) and take it to Guest Services and ask for character signatures. They'll return it with signatures, and you'll have a special gift.

Can someone please explain what is meant by copyright release? I know you normally can't copy professional pics on a kodak photomaker. Is this what goofydisney is talking about? Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not sure how you get a copyright release!

This is exactly what I mean. The pics you buy from Shutters on board the ship are copyright protected. After you return home, you simply email Ron Reyes at Imaging Services (I think...someone help me out here) and provide him with your name, the name of the ship, the date sailed and he will send you a copyright release that you present to the person behind the counter whereever you are using the Kidak machine. It is really simple to get, but make sure you do it after you return home so that you aren't standing at the Kodak machine unprepared.

I am sure I don't ahve the company name right, but if you start a new thread about the copyright release someone out there has the right info!

We did this with a family picture from our cruise and gave it out as Christmas pictures!

Hope this helps!

My kids (3 yr. old ds and 6 year old dd) loved the wooden flutes they bought from bahamian children in the streets of Nassau for $1.00 each. There were many children in the street pressing these on us for $1.00 each. At the time, we bought them because we felt sorry for the kids but my children both felt they were one of their favorite souvenirs.

When you take the release to the store to print your pictures, make copies of it first, they insisted on keeping mine at walgreens. I went to a store & copied it first, because they said they couldn`t just copy it (they were not nice, but I got my pictures):D

And the same thing happened to me at Walmart, with them making a copy.

But also, my copyright release was for September, cause we left on the 9/29, but when the lady looked at my pictures, some of them were dated October, so she put up such a stink that I had to go back and ask for one that covered Sept and Oct!

But after that, everything was easy!

OK, I will NOT go to walmart to get my copies!! CVS runs specials on the kodak photomaker thing pretty often. I'll see if they're nicer there :)

Thanks for all of the great advice.
