DL:

I LOVE Space Mountain. I hate to say that I rode it for the first time in July '07. I had been to Disneyland plenty of times, but I was always too afraid to go on. When we got there in the morning, my mom, dad, and sister said "We're going on Space Mountain first." I thought about going on--but I said "Ah, I'll go on Buzz while you guys do that." So, I did. By myself...twice. (I was gonna go on Star Tours, but it wasn't open that day yet.) After my second ride of Buzz, I met up with them, and they told me it's fun as ever. "Maybe later," I said. Well, right after Buzz, we got those YoaMD fast pass lanyards, and lo and behold, a Space Mountain fast pass. "Later," I said. "We'll do it later." And I did. And I loved it. I should have done it sooner! And then I rode it AGAIN later that night-- that was the last ride I went on both days, too. (We always stay opening to close.)

I love the Indiana Jones ride--that and SM are my favorite.

I really love all the rides-- (not including the kiddie rides--but some of those are pretty great too :thumbsup2 ) -- except for...

It's a Small World.

I first rode it at...what? Five, six years old? I got off, holding my ears and shaking my head. "Mommy? I'm never doing that again."

I hated it. Still do. Drives me nuts! :rotfl:
I don't know, though. Maybe I'll--*gulp*--ride it again this summer. For old times sakes.

DCA:

CALIFORNIA SCREAMIN'! Man! Made my first trip to DCA July '07 (parkhopper) and I first thought DCA would suck, but boy was I wrong! I loved it. CS was my favorite ride there, along with ToT (my mom especially loved that one--we have a funny story for it, too, but I don't know about telling it! :scared1: ).

Mulholland madness was disappointing. Good thing we had fastpasses, because I would'a been ticked had I had to wait for that one.

I loved every ride save for MM (I can't remember, ATM, any other rides I disliked.)

:thumbsup2

Well you won't have to worry about riding IASW this summer, it's closed until November for a major refurb!

My absolute favorite is POTC and HM. Next from there is the rides in Fantasy Land. I'm a huge fan of the dark rides, and also love Buzz and Monsters Inc. It's what makes DL unique to me. We can get rollercoasters anywhere else, but this to me is where DL shines.

Rides I don't like? Anything that has huge drops or makes you motion sick. Not a fan!

I haven't been on the really fun rides yet because I always go with my toddler, but...

I love Peter Pan, Gadget's Go Coaster even though it's too short, Pirates, and if I could only go on one ride at DL...Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters!

At DCA I like Mike and Sulley to the Rescue.

I can't wait to go by myself one day and try the REAL rides!

Another one I really like:

Splash Mountain.

Man--oh--MAN! It's fun fun fun! Last I was there, I went on it twice--once during the day, and then later at night--waited a full hour and a half. (Wasn't too bad, though, we met this nice family in front of us, who 'kept us company'.)

I love floating through all the characters, and the singing...even the little drops in between--until ya get to the BIG one--are fun. I love the big drop the best, of course! And then you see your picture...hahaha, that's always a doozy!

For everyone who can't stand IASW, I make up for it. All of you, I make up for, b/c I love it so much. Back when I was a kid, my dad bought the album with the music on it, and I would listen to it over and over and over. No headphones. At my non-custodial parent's house, with a new stepmom. She told me sometime after I turned 30 that I was lucky I survived that period of my life, LOL. She's NOT a fan of IASW. :lmao: But I still love it.

I don't think I hate any ride at DL/DCA. I haven't been on everything yet, though. I hear that the Orange Stinger will be going away, so I'll likely never ride that; I might have hated it if I rode it. Haven't been on the SunWheel or Mulholland, either.

Ooh wait, I really don't much like Snow White or Pinocchio. But ever since I had Lasik done on my eyes I have terrible vision in the dark, and from spending my 20s with hard-rocking, earplug-not-allowing, boyfriends, I have some hearing loss that I haven't come to terms with enough to get hearing aids, so really all I'm seeing in there are shapes, and all I'm hearing is NOISE, so maybe I'd like them if I actually knew what the heck was going on!

I really enjoyed CA Screamin', though it also scares me. That take-off was almost more than I could bear, physically, but by the time I got that thought into my head, the take off was over. Love Tower of Terror. Love Indy! And Looooove Star Tours!

Star Tours!! I love that too!! A lot of people find it boring...I don't know, I don't. It's fun--and it's Star Wars, and I'm a fan of SW. :goodvibes

Also--Orange Stinger is the giant orange, right? Where you sit in the seats, and it spins you around? Ooh, that one was fun. I liked it.

Oh you know what? I do have a ride or two I really dislike. Turns out I don't like being in a seat and just going around in circles in the air.

Therefore, Astro Orbiters makes me beyond miserable, and Dumbo isn't that much better.

Since AO is one of my son's favorites, and since DH has a hard time riding with DS due to his body shape, I generally have to go on it with our son.

Dumbo is easier for DH to ride, so he gets that duty most often.:cool1:

I love IASW!

I can easily skip it and am not heartbroken that it's down right now, but I love that it's fast-loading and you actually spend longer ON the ride than in line.

I love how much there is to look at, and it doesn't have a weird, hard-to-follow storyline if you haven't seen the movie recently, like so many of the other dark rides.

I do like Snow White though. Mostly because the line is short. I hate how it just ends abruptly with "They lived happily ever after". You never even see the prince, so who exactly is living happily ever after? :confused3

Pinocchio is just not a good ride IMO.

Another IASW lover here! I rode it at the World's Fair when I was 3 years old and I still love it.

I don't really hold anything against the Teacups or Star Tours, but I don't go on them because I get terrible motion sickness from both.

I've never really liked Snow White. It seems too scary for the little kids that it is geared to. Plus, I really got sick of Toontown. When my kids were little we would wind up there for way too many hours. But, we did it for a couple of hours on our trip last year and that was a lot better.

Oh, really? Hahaha...whew! :rotfl:

Really, though, I plan to work there...I'm sure I'll have plenty of chances to ride the sucker!

Let's just hope they don't have you work that ride then! Hearing that song all day could probably drive someone bonkers!:rotfl:

I actually really like IASW, especially on a super hot day!

I LOVE almost every ride I've been on in Disneyland. Some of my absolute favorites are Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, BTMR, IJA, POtC, and JC. In DCA I love the Grizzly River Run and SOC. The last time I was at DCA I rode GRR 6 times in a row!
Some of the rides I don't like are California Screamin', and Finding Nemo's Sub. Voyage. I think the FNSV isn't worth the wait the last time I went I waited for 3 1/2 hours with my family to get on and when we got in there was one less seat than there was people!
I love and hate IASW just because of that song! When you first hear the song I feel cheerful but half way through the ride I want to jump off the boat! But once I hear the song and see the bright light that is the exit I feel cheerful (but only because I know that I wouldn't have to listen to that song anymore.

Grizzly River Run at DCA is awesome!!! I love that ride! If I don't have a fast pass, I get the 'single rider' pass. Sure, sometimes you have to split up...buuuut when the line is HOURS long, you don't mind too much.

IASW is my Moms most hated song ever and would not ride it and us kids only went on it if another adult was available to take us :rotfl: My Mom will crawl the walls if I so much as hum a bar.

Favorite Rides

DL- HMH #1!!!! LOVE IT!!! HM #2 so brillant! POTC excellent! Then I thik SM and TM come in at a tie for me since both are great. Though as a kid I think I liked TM just a smidge more cause I liked the dino bones.

DCA- CS is so cool! And TOT but then I am a huge Art Deco Fan so love the lobby and loved TZ since I was a kid so its perfect for me!!

Totally off topic I love the "John isn't Dull, he just needs glasses sign at the end of the ride it makes me laugh so hard since DH is named John :lmao: "

At DL I would say Pooh is the only ride that I find disappointing but I think thats because its too weird (maybe being under 6 or on something MAGICAL wink wink I might get it :confused3 ) and cause it makes me cry they took out Country Bear for that ride :sad1:

DCA-I am not a fan of the Sun Wheel but I dont like Ferris Wheels

I rode Pooh about...3 years ago? I think. I was on a class field trip, and some of the girls in my group dragged us on it.

Bad thing: Kiddie ride.

Good thing: Walked right up, and, I got to sit next to the hot girl. ;)

Hahaha. It wasn't that bad. We had just gotten off Splash Mountain, and it was breezy at least.

Oh good gracious I forgot about Grizzly. LOVE Grizzly. At night in December in the rain, love it! In the sunny day in January with no rain but a raging nauseating headache, love it! Someday I'll go on it feeling healthy, with no rain and no cold, and I'll probably hate it. :rotfl:

fairycat, if you hadn't mentioned having a husband, I'd ask if you were one of my stepsiblings. :) Alas, my 13 year old half-sis isn't married (don't tell that tall pirate or he'll try to find a match) and my half-brothers aren't married and don't seem to fancy other men, so I guess there are just two women out there like my stepmom. :)

Disneyland...

Favorites - Big Thunder, Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Alice in Wonderland, Tea Cups, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Mr. Toad's, Peter Pan

Not a fan of - Canoes, Astro Orbiter

California Adventure...

Favorites - Mulholland Madness, California Screamin', Grizzly River

Not a fan of - Orange Stinger, Maliboomer, Tower of Terror, Sunwheel.

I have never actually been on - the Canoes, Maliboomer, or the sunwheel. The "not a fan of" rides are ones that I completely avoid. Pretty much all the other rides I enjoy every now and then.

DL Favorites

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (was my favorite growing up - now it's not thrilling anymore)

Soarin'
California Screamin'
Tower of Terror

CA Not-so-Favorites

Maliboomer (big dissappointment after the long wait)
Muppets 3D
Grizzly Rapids (the raft ride at Knotts seemed way better)

There are so many wonderful rides it is hard for me to pick! My favorite has to be Space Mountain. I remember riding it for the first time when I was a child...now I cannot wait to take DD on it on our next trip! She will finally be tall enough (I hope!).

At DCA, Soarin' wins my vote.:thumbsup2 I love it!
